Waena Inn — Hotel in Maui

Eustaquio and the rest of the staff were fantastic and the accommodations were top notch!! The room, and property overall, was clean and extremely well maintained, even better than the Marriott spa resort hotels I have stayed at in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta in the previous two years.

I didn’t see any bugs during my entire visit except literally a couple very tiny gnats, which we were informed in advance don’t bite, and they didn’t. The staff takes great care to prevent bugs, and even burned pleasant incense in outdoor areas to deter bugs.

The beds were very comfortable and the linens were also, and smelled fresh. They were even more comfortable than my own at home. My daughter said the same of her bed! The window AC/fan was perfect for our total comfort. TV and kitchen amenities, including the refrigerator, were great, clean and useful.

They have a refreshing policy of giving kindness and respect to their guests and hoping for the guests to be responsible and respectful as well. Their laundry room amenities were operated on trust, asking you to leave a small cash payment in a jar for use of the machines, which were clean, worked great and were very handy!

The grounds had well-kept and clean sitting areas. The parking was well lighted, clean, safe and easy- for free!!

I really can’t say enough about this property and it’s owners/managers/staff! They treat you kindly. They help you when needed but give you your privacy as well. On the first night my daughter needed extra blankets and within minutes of me texting Eustaquio, two clean blankets were at my door in a bag, with a tap on the door -and the deliverer was on his way back down the stairs with a kind smile and a wave.

Needless to say, everything about this rental was way beyond my expectations! They provided fresh towels for us to use at the beach each day and only asked us to drop them in the hamper at night! They also offer chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas free of charge. They are purposely trying to keep the place affordable so that regular folks are able to enjoy the beauty of Maui. Too bad there aren’t more businesses with the same kindness and work ethic as these great people! I will definitely go back to stay there. It’s a wonderful place to stay- especially for seeing the island by day and getting a nice, clean shower and restful...

Great place to stay if you are in Wailuku. Across the street is a convinience store/ deli. Not really walkable to other spots (beaches and restaurants) and having a ride is must if traveling around Maui. The room I stayed in was newly renovated, clean and had good amenities. Uncle tony and his staff are really accommodating.

Close to the airport, the building is serene. Really nice bnb. It has laundry facility and little corner where you can borrow beach chairs/books/snorkeling equipment. They’re also generous with towels. Will def consider this again if I ever go back to maui.
