On 7/8 My spouse and I checked in here at 6pm by 9:30 the lights were out. We stayed around for a couple hours for lights to come back on but they didn’t. Because we were only there to celebrate my husband’s birthday we left and came home. No manager was on duty to speak with so we left. The front desk rep told us that a manager will be in touch the next morning. Fast forward to the next morning the manager didn’t call. I had to reach out. She finally did give a call back. She told us that she would comp us for a room on 7/20. Upon arrival on 7/20 we were informed by front desk that we had to pay for the night. The front desk rep called both managers (NO MANAGER ON DUTY AGAIN) the first one said the same thing, we would need to pay. The second manager is whom I spoke with, that had rebooked us for the new night- she changed her words. The front desk rep relayed the message that we would need to pay again. We refused and left. Upon asking for a refund for the first visit we were refused and told that we needed to speak with a manager and again no manager on duty. So I went through the company we booked with for refund. This is where things get interesting. We were told the lights were out in the entire city for only an hr and half. That was a blatant lie! Then they refused to refund us because of this lie. We were only in the room two full hours out of the entire stay. If you’ve stayed here before you know rooms start at $300 a night. Truth be told I should of never booked. I didn’t look at the reviews here on Google until after I’d booked. Mistake on my end. I would of known that they are RACISTS. We will be contacting lawyers and taking this further. This is 2024, if you are racist you shouldn’t be in business. Shame on you for having no integrity as a company. I will tell anyone and everyone of how we were treated in your establishment....
Read moreWhen we arrived at the Inn we were greeted by the desk clerk and given our room key. Entering our room on the 2nd floor we noticed it had a musty smell and was very warm. The thermostat on the wall was set on Celsius not Fahrenheit. Neither of us knew how to convert this. I tried adjusting the temperature down but with no result. I call the desk and the same desk clerk came up right away to check this. He found the same results and advised he would upgrade us to another room without any expense to us. We were upgraded from a deluxe room with a king size bed to a suite and the 4th floor with a river view. We found this suite to be quite large and comfortable. At night the air conditioning would blow directly on us making sleeping uncomfortable. Turning down the thermostat did not help. The second night I taped a plastic bag over the vent directed at our bed which helped immensely. I then also found there was a separate thermostat for the bedroom and the living room of the suite. This Inn is small and quiet. We never heard any noise from other guests as you do in larger hotels. The bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower was large. The shower had very good flow however we found only enough hot water for one of us to take a shower. We tried taking a shower earlier in the day the 2nd day but, had the same results. This is an older hotel with nice furnishings, which are also older. If you want a quiet place this is for you. If you like new rooms and a large lobby with snack bars etc. you probably won't like this place. My credit card was charged three times with additional charges when I got home but, I made a phone call to the Inn and was told these should come off in two to three business days...
