I’d been wanting to check out this speakeasy-style bar for a while—and finally made it. A friend and I went together, though finding the place was a bit of an adventure (as expected from a true speakeasy). There’s no sign, no neon, nothing that screams “bar.” Just a closed, unmarked door. But once you step inside, it feels like entering a whole different world.
The space is classy and intimate—think plush lounge seating rather than your typical bar stools. The vibe is mellow and sophisticated, with soft background music playing from a few TVs, but nothing too loud or chaotic.
We were greeted and seated right away. A manager (or possibly the owner) came over and proudly mentioned that the bar has been ranked among the top in the country. Instead of a traditional menu, they asked about our preferences and made recommendations. I’m not a big whiskey fan, so they customized an Old Fashioned for me with tequila instead—which turned out to be a fun twist.
A standout detail: they serve their drinks in elegant ceramic cups instead of glasses, which adds to the whole speakeasy charm. My friend stuck with the classic Old Fashioned and even went for a second round.
Now, fair warning—the check is on the steep side. We paid $85 for just three drinks, including gratuity, which definitely felt pricey. But if you’re looking for a unique, upscale bar experience with a great ambiance, this spot is worth a visit. Recommended, especially if you’re into...
Read moreDefinitely a little pricey, but it's cool.
Cons, just to get them out of the way: A little expensive, I thought the ceramic mugs for cocktails and neat whiskey pours to be a little odd, 20pct automatic gratuity.
For me(personal taste, neutral) it was a little darker and music a little loud for me, but I know that's a personal preference.
Idk if they accept cash or not. I paid card, forgot to ask.
Pros: No setup fee for bringing your own cigar(but always support your lounges by buying something), big whiskey selection maybe biggest in Memphis(theres a couple of places close), comfortable chairs, everyone was nice, everything very clean, good sound system, lots of big tvs for the space, lots of seating for the space.
I think footed short stemmed glass snifters(not glencairns) for neat whiskey pours would really elevate the whiskey selection and pours. Idk any bar doing that in Memphis, and with that selection it would really strike a big positive lasting impression. Something...
Read moreGreat cigar lounge and bar. This place has a cozy atmosphere and friendly locals. The bar tender “Dee” was very friendly and mixed several nice drinks. The bar specializes as a Bourbon bar but also caters to other drinks as well. The bourbon selection was impressive, and I was able to get three whiskeys that I’ve sought out for years, including Weller full proof and Weller Antique. The owner introduced himself and several of the locals would share a story or two around the bar. We stayed for hours longer than planned and enjoyed watching sports on the tv over the bar. If you would like to enjoy a cigar and a nice whiskey, I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this establishment. The friendly and knowledgeable staff and locals make for a...
