Good place to take your dog for off the leash play. Responsible dog owners at this park. Peak times for Saturday are earlier in the morning, starting around 9 am to 11 am. There is limited parking, about 7-8 spaces for cars, but a lot people walk there because there is an apartment complex across the street. The park area for large dogs is about the size of a football field with small inclines, plenty of dog dog holes, small muddy water pits a few small trees, benches for humans and a covered picnic seating area. There are also a few scraggle toys like footballs and tennis balls left around the park for pups to play with. They offer doggie bags and trash cans around the park. The small dog area is aboit a quarter size of the large dog area with a few covered seating areas for humans. This location does NOT have bathroom facilities and the water fountain for the pups is turned off in the colder months so bring your own water if your pup tends to get thirsty while playing. Also note, this park can get VERY muddy during the rainy season and I recommend keeping a towel/blanket handy in your car to wipe your pups body/paws before getting...
Read moreWe were transporting a dozen rescue dogs from Texas to the North East and struck out at two Love’s in a row that did not have a doggie park. With it being time for the doggies to get a stretch and bathroom break in, we googled local dog parks and Mud Island was the closest in Memphis. We were pleasantly surprised by this park. It’s right on the river. Since we arrived shortly before closing it was dark and the bridge lights were so awesome. The park was nice and clean with two sections for under and over 25 lbs. High recommend for...
Read moreIt's a extra large park. One of the largest in Memphis! The water facets have not been turned on for the season. Bring plenty of water for your doggies. I wouldn't suggest going to the park until several days after rain or snow. The ground becomes slushy and muddy. There are holes of water. There's both a large dog side and a small dog side. I don't remember seeing a restroom or porta potties. There are a limited amount of benches to sit on. Great park for spring,...
