This was once a nice hidden Marriott gem; however this was one of the most horrible hotel experiences I've had in years and was the worst Marriott I've stayed in ever. Upon entering the room I was smacked in the face with an incredible wet dog stench that permeated every single corner of the room. Thank God I had cologne to spray on my pillows. The kitchen area was in just as poor shape: light fixture cover was broken and falling off, the knob for the light on the hood bent was broken off and missing, the dishwasher was missing a knob cover on the lock so it was very sharp. None of the knives in the drawer were clean. The doors in the room were all shredded by dog claws (they should have notified me upon check in about the dog situation, I would have gone elsewhere). Again, thank God my dog allergies weren't acting up, I wasn't in the mood for an epipen experience. The furniture was all beat to heck, drawers weren't able to even close properly in the dresser because the frame was warped. The master bedroom was missing the closet door, the second bedroom closet had a knob that nearly fell off when you touched it. There were no luggage racks at all, so I had to use the kitchen table chairs as racks. The television remote was so abused that it wouldn't work on the one bedroom television. The rug was shredded in numerous places, again I'm assuming by dogs. The kitchen table was literally on its last leg and I had to get maintenance to screw the legs back on because it was a danger to even sit at. The toilet seat had no bolts holding it in. They had the AC right underneath draperies that were too long, so everytime it cut on, the drapes would parachute out and trap the air. And the beds.... OH THE BEDS! That was quite possibly the worst mattresses I've even seen. There's absolutely no springs in the beds, it's just foam, and not even memory foam. You sink in and you hope there's a coast guard ship nearby to rescue you in the morning. Half of the outlets in the room did not function. Someone either threw food onto the ceiling or killed a large bug. Frankly I was afraid to look too closely. Finally there's the coup de grace: my tub actually had a hole in it, and I'm not talking about the drain, it was about a 2" hole. I told the maintenance guy about it and he apparently knew because he said they had a crew coming in to fix it. Why the Hades was this room not put out of service????? It should never have been rented out in the state it was in. Marriott should frankly remove their name from this property. It's more of a 1 Star motel experience than a 3 star and above that Marriott expects of it's franchises. Oh, and if you're in need of special access for a wheelchair, forget it, they put parking spots in front of the ramps. Stay away folks,...
Read moreOn 7/13/21, I checked into the TownPlace Suite in Ghanna. My reservations were for 2 2 bedroom suites and one studio. At arrival, I was informed by the front desk staff that she was unable to give me one of the 2 bedroom suites, due to someone smoking in the room. She would have to give me 2 studio rooms for the 75.00 a night. My family agreed and we were given the keys to our rooms. Once we went to our room we were horrified by what we saw. The first sudio room you could not get into. The key worked but the room door would not open. The second sudio room had no remote control and was not clean. There were no towels . The room had not been vacuumed. The third room smelled like old food, there was food in a pan in the oven. There were cigarillos in the drawer. The towls and bedding were dirty. The floor was dirty . The bathroom had urine all over the toilet. The shower was dirty and the television would not come on. The fourth room, the 2 bedroom suite, had food in the cabinet in the bedroom, pizza and Gatorade. There were used dirty towels hanging in the bathroom along with used towels on the floor behind the door. On the bathroom ceiling there was a black substance, which I speculate could be mold. We immediately we to the front desk and informed the staff. She contacted the manger whom came over and apologized. We asked to be moved to another room but they were booked in there hotel and the one next door. She offered to clean the rooms and comp the night and to provide dinner. She asked us to think about what we wanted for dinner and that she and the lady at the front desk would clean the room. We left for about 2 hour to allow her to clean. When we returned it was after 10 pm. We were told everything was taken care of. Since we had young children with us, we explained that we picked up dinner. We were told that the first room we could not get into door was broken that was the reason we could not get into it. Since they had no rooms the could not give my daughter her room so she would have to share the room with me until one became available the next day. They agreed to provide it for the next night. She agreed to comp Saturday's meal. We were Once we got to the room much had not changed. The room smelled a little better and towels were brought in but that was all that had changed. When we were out for those hours we actually brought cleaner and cleaned our rooms for us to stay in them. The sofa bed was filled with cookies and trash. We 3...

I finally went down to the office and told them about it and was told to unplug the TV and plug it back in. While I was there I asked for some more coffee pods. I was given 3 bags of ground coffee which didn't work in the rooms coffee maker. Put a bag and a trash can of trash outside the room. Took 2 days for it to get picked up. Same for linens. Had to go to front desk again for those. After the TV still wouldn't work I asked to change the room. Desk clerk told me to go pack and bring my luggage down as she was going to have to move me to a second building. I drag 2 suitcases full of my personal items as well as toilet paper (because you could only get it one roll at a time so I just bought it myself), frozen dinners, and some beverages to the front desk. She hands me a key and tells me its on the 3rd floor. I get to the room and the bolt won't lock. I leave my luggage and head back to desk. Clerk says, "I don't think anyone's going to try to break into your room." Are you kidding? I said no way, change my room. Now she tells me I will have to go back to the building I came from as there are no other rooms in that building. So I haul everything over to the first building. The clerk WAS nice enough to help me bring my suitcases over. We get into the second room and guess what? The bolt doesn't work on that one either!!! We go to the room next door and it worked so there I stayed. She saw some trash in the kitchen trash can and told me she'd have someone bring it back and she left with it. No one ever brought it back and I had nothing to put trash in. When you turn on the TV a message comes on saying good morning and your name. Well it said "Tim" and that is not my name but I didn't think too much about it. In the middle of the night 2 girls tried to get into my room using a key. Had I not had the bolt on they would have walked right in!! The next day I went to the desk and told the new clerk on duty what had happened. She said the night clerk had never shecked me into new room. She must have gotten the key from a guest who checked out and never changed the code on the locks! I told her I was not only missing a trash can but some other things too. They were there the next morning. No one told me due to covid they weren't going in rooms and Marriotts CS was useless. No mgmt was on site...
