Update 5/20/25: I ordered the salted boneless chicken with fries, pork steam buns, mini churros, and crab Rangoon. I changed my first review from 4 star to 5 star bc of this last order. I absolutely loved the salted boneless chicken for its price. Worth it. Same with the crab Rangoon. I’ve had plenty in the past elsewhere and they always skimp on the cream cheese filling. These at Bowl Boba were a good size and bursting with the filling and for the price- top notch. Can’t beat anywhere else. The pork steam buns were very tasty and flavorful. And for the price, also worth it in my opinion. It may look like the filling is thin but the flavor makes up for it. The mini churros can be skipped and be removed from the menu though. 😄
I ordered the honeydew boba and original fried half chicken. Both were very satisfying! Now if you like your drink super duper sweet then you might not like this one. I always have to modify the sugar levels at Starbucks and other boba places and this place I did not do any customizations! The boba pearls were also boiled perfectly to texture. The fried chicken was on point. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was perfectly seasoned so no sauce necessary if you don’t want any. I did order a side of yum yum sauce just in case since this was my first time trying out the place. The sauce was good too. Overall, when I’m craving fried chicken I’m coming here. I did a pick up order so not sure on their service dining in and the interior is average. It’s fine to sit and...
Read moreThe restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the service was fine.
However, the food couldn't be more mid.
My wife got the chicken fried rice and it tasted (and looked) as if it was made a while before and stored warm. It doesn't take that long to fry up some rice and there's no excuse for it to not be fresh.
I got the jampong, which was probably a mistake on my part. My moms is Korean and I've had her jampong and there is no comparison. The jampong they served wasn't anywhere near spicy, the crab is imitation crab (which is fine, but is listed as crab on the menu) and the broth itself lacked any depth. It was very shallow and tasted more like a delicately seasoned Japanese ramen and not like a flavorful Korean jampong.
The "Korean Fried Chicken" must be called that because someone in back frying it is Korean. Korean fried chicken has a specific texture due to the batter and the double-fried method. Neither my order of fire scallion wings, nor my wife's gochujang wings had the Korea fried chicken texture and the flavor profile was, like the jampong, shallow.
We both feel we wasted nearly $50 bucks and probably...
Read moreThe red bean boba tea had the texture of a protein shake, chalky with a fine grit. It also did not contain any red beans. The caps for the cups are very nice though.
Despite there being other people who were seated with trays, I was not asked if I would be dining in or getting take out, it was assumed that I would not would not dine in. Service was fast and efficient and there was one man taking orders who was happy to interact with customers. The restaurant appeared clean and prices are affordable relative to portion size.
Although my entree looked nice and I was excited to try it, I didn't get the chance to taste it because as soon as I stuck my fork in, I came across a long strand of hair in my food. I do not recommend the fried chicken, the oil had a very heavy taste, the wings were mushy, and were more like party wings, but they were seasoned nicely.
This is a new restaurant, or at least a new location, so I'll give them grace. I hope they are able to improve on food quality and food...
