Please read the entire review!!!! The room may only cost you $90 a night but it will cost you thousands of dollars in the future and years of misery!!!! If this is the only Hotel you can afford in Clermont do yourself and your family a favor and sleep in your car!!!! We stayed there for approximately 3 weeks after our home was destroyed, that stay has been nearly a year-and-a-half ago and yet not one single day has gone by that we have not thought about that hotel!! Am I exaggerating, no absolutely not it is impossible to forget about the place that has caused and continues to cause both physical and emotional pain to your wife and children! Although the story is long I will keep it as brief as possible, the first morning of our stay we woke up to my teenage daughter covered and red welts all over her body we immediately took her to the ER where she was misdiagnosed with having an allergic reaction, by the next morning not only had the whelps not gone down with the medication but there were more new red bumps. We return to the ER very concerned after 17 years of life we have never seen anything like this happened to our daughter, by the third morning my wife and I also had a few of these red marks, we searched the beds high and low for any sign of what could be causing it however we found absolutely nothing my son who had been sleeping on a pallet on the floor took a nap and one of the beds that same day when he woke he also what's covered in these bumps and was in pain, that evening we returned 2 South Lake Hospital where a biopsy was performed on my daughter's arm removing a large chunk of Flesh to try to determine what was causing the reaction, nearly a week and a half past when the doctor called us back and said the test showed nothing, the doctor then asked us if we had looked for bed bugs we told him we looked for any sign of life or any sign of chemicals and the beds that could be causing it and saw nothing he was just as confused as we were! From the very first night we told the manager and the front desk staff and housekeeping the bumps and itching and pain that was caused during the night in our room, after more than 2 weeks of talking to them and complaining about it and simply trying to figure out what was causing it as we had no other place to go the manager said we could switch to another room on a different floor. We were given a key to another room on the floor above us but when we walked into that room there were roaches everywhere they were on the ceiling they were in the bathroom on the kitchen sink never even roaches crawling on the TV! To be honest that was the first time we had seen roaches in the hotel however we didn't want to stay in a room full of roaches, we called the manager up who viewed the roaches and switched us to another room on the same floor we had been on. Once given the key to the third room we entered and inspected it we only saw one roach and it was dead so we decided to start moving our belongings from our first room just a few Doors Down. We retrieve the luggage cart and took it to the third floor and began to load our luggage, it was at this moment the maintenance man came by and asked (are you leaving us today?) To which I replied no we are switching rooms. He seemed confused and asked what room we were switching to we told him and then I said the first room they switched us to was full of bugs! His reply floored me, it was (it doesn't matter what room you switch to the bedbugs are behind all of the headboards in pretty much every room!) And he showed them to us, He told us that management staff and the owners had been fully aware of the situation for more than a year! When I confronted management about it they admitted it! No matter what we do or how much we spend we simply cannot get rid of them, we have spent in excess of $1,000 in store-bought bug bed treatment and hundreds of dollars more for professional treatment in our home and yet they still find a...
Read moreIt started off good until, on the fifth day, housekeeping finally knocked on my door. By that time, I didn't require housekeeping. I told her I was good. She informed me that she needed to check my AC filter. I asked her to come back later. You see, I didn't need housekeeping on the 5th day of my stay because I had already learned how to fin for myself. Housekeeping insisted four (4) different times that she needed to enter my room, right then, at that time, until I admitted I was not decent, and asked her to please come back later. She left and never came back. When I went to the front desk to let them know that they could have access to my room, Jose, the front desk clerk, warned me against refusal of letting housekeeping enter my room when they initially ask for the same. To which I informed him, that there are exceptions to every rule. I told him that I merely delayed entry when I asked her to come back later. Jose persisted by saying that the guests cannot refuse staff entry. I persisted and told Jose, "I'm only letting you know this because you are persisting, I was not dressed." Then he said, Oh, that's why you told her to come back later?" To which I replied, "yes." Question to all reading this: Why is it so hard to understand that hotel staff can't always "pop call" and expect entry into a guest's room?
Heather, the general manager, told me that housekeeping just wanted to look at the room to make sure I wasn't doing bad things to it because others have made it hard for me. The AC filter was just her way of simplifying the need to enter. I could imply a lot right here, but I will refrain.
While I was at the front desk informing Jose that housekeeping could enter my room, I also wanted to know why I hadn't been offered maid service before my fifth day there? 1.) He said he didn't know.🤔 2.) I was told by one of the maids that service was offered on Mondays and Thursdays. 3.) Heather, the GM, told me that service is offered after (get this) two weeks of staying at the Hotel. Three different answers.
After this happened, my antenna on my car was stolen the next morning. I went out to clean-up and mess with the car while listening to music that morning; I went back in to get cleaned up... when I came back out and started the car, the radio wouldn't play. I immediately noticed the antenna was gone. I reported it stolen at the hotel first and after explaining what happened, they praise all people there, dismissing me totally and asked if I lost it while driving... I then went to the police department and filed a report in case others found things missing from there cars when they stay there and voice a complaint. I encourage others to file complaints as well: this way, at least there is a paper trail and these people can/will be held responsible. P. S. Camera serveilance is not available in the parking lot and the volume doesn't work where cameras serveilance in the Hotel is available. This by itself needs to change. Accountability and safety is key. I cut my stay and left early. No maid service for two weeks, can't complain without hurting people's feelings, not taken seriously, and you're not really safe.👎 And, it's not in writing and you're...
Read moreRemember my first sentence; This place though a remedial alternative, is a budget minded solution but never a first choice as you will see here. FOUR Ps OF MARKETING PRODUCT// A very no frills safe (for the most part) place to lay yor head. Flexibility is here. Chances are you can easily extend a stay here as needed. Cleanliness 5 out of 5, butfor minor things, s.a., sheets on bed were clean but not crisp look, feel but pass the test. If you need peace and quiet this place is not for you. People come and go to rooms, hallway noise, noise from floor above 24/7. Not your place if your easily shell shocked ? If you demand high level hospitality service atmosphere. This is not your fathers Oldsmobile then. PLACE// This is West Orlando along FL50. Just minutes from the Florida Turnpike (old- Sunshine State Parkway renamed). Yes, shopping less than 10 minutes away. Near to Citrus Tower (5mi.) and go to if Disney first choice lodging is booked. PROMOTION// Room Rates are set and inflexible. Extend your stay yes. Staff are not Customer Service trained. So don't expect much. This is the best I can tell you here. PRICE// Security, I found some loopholes so not 100% on their game. Parking lot insecure. Accessible to anyone 24 hours (-). Suite door has self closure however, my door (Rm.130) closed 99% but failed to latch. Had to pull to secure door. This is a safety concern and I caught this first thing. Relates to PRICE in that if you are a stickler for security you may want to pay more for area lodging, follow me ? Room rates here are below average. I contend that once you've experienced WoodSpring Clermont it is self evident as to the reasons for their ''Positioning" this way in the market. For good reasons. Take that anyway you see fit too. Syllabus of Review: WoodSpring Suites Orlando West - Clermont PRODUCT// This Product is positioned properly I feel in the area and market. The customer service aspect of Product leaves something to be desired, again in my educated opinion. Peace and quiet this place is not for you. To their credit, this choice provides a budget friendly alternative maybe, to Orlando area opportunistic roomrates birddogging by lodgers. A very no frills choice in every sense. PLACE// Centrally located near crossroads of FL50 and US27. Convenient to Food, Fuel, Turnpike, Disney maybe. Shopping conveniently less than 10 min. away. PROMOTION// Not here. Roomrates do not vary much probably. I would be very surprised to see them advertise roomrate packages say a weekend deal, never know ? C/s could no be a Promo for WoodSpring Suites in my opinion. PRICE// Roomrates are below average on par with service I feel. The low price leader ? Maybe so but do not expect a friendly, by lodging standards, welcoming c/s trained efficient staff. That wears its moniker proudly....
