Rooms To Go delivered a dresser and a nightstand last week. The nightstand was damaged (pictures were taken by the delivery men). They took it back and I was told a new nightstand would be delivered a week later. I was fine with that. A week later we receive THE EXACT SAME nightstand that we returned. It had the same exact damage. It did not come in a brand new box. It was delivered in a moving blanket. We called Rooms To Go in Clermont Fl and spoke to Arelia, she got very irate with my husband because he complained that they delivered the same exact damaged nightstand that we did not accept during the delivery and we wanted her to do something for their mistake that was made twice. I have never heard of a company resending the same exact damaged piece of furniture in a moving blanket not a brand new box and not taking full responsibility for it. I truly dont know what they were trying to do. Maybe they thought we wouldn't have noticed. But that damaged nightstand should have been put on clearance not sold as a brand new nightstand because of the damage. I guess they have done this before so they obviously dont care. She was extremely rude and not helpful at all. We don't know what to do. We are extremely disappointed. We will definitely go to a different furniture store next time. I expected more from them. Please Read all of the BAD REVIEWS and also read the all of the BAD REVIEWS from the Better Business Bureau etc of Rooms To Go before purchasing from them. The BAD reviews are what matter when deciding to spend money at a Business. There should be more GOOD REVIEWS than BAD REVIEWS. I should have read the bad reviews before purchasing from them. It seems that Rooms To Go thinks their customers are trying to get away with something but it's actually Rooms To Go that's trying to get away with something. Unfortunately, I read the BAD Reviews after I purchased. I don't know how they are still in business. Also note that they will not allow me to cancel my purchase of the nightstand (because of their fault) and get a full refund. They will still charge me for the delivery fee as a well as a restocking fee of 20%. My advice, from a very bad experience, DO NOT BUY from Rooms To Go. There are many other Furniture stores with great customer service. I wanted to support a business in Clermont-florida. Big mistake. I should have shopped where I normally shop. My husband went into the Rooms To Go store in Clermont Florida to try to work things out. But he was treated terribly by all of the sales people as well as the managers. He mentioned that now he has no choice but to go somewhere outside of Clermont Florida to buy furniture. Their response was GO somewhere else then. I'm sure it's because they have so many complaints that they get very defensive and embarrassed. That's a bad way to...
Read moreI am sorely dissatisfied with the subpar quality products and service that my daughter, who I proudly referred to RTG, experienced. I have been a customer of RTG for a number of years (spending tens of thousands). So of course, they were my #1 referral when she moved into her very first apartment a couple months ago. What began as an experience of which I’m accustomed to quickly turned into a complete nightmare for her. She ordered a sofa, which was delivered with extensive water damage not once or twice, but THREE separate times…and in one of the deliveries, the sofa didn’t even include the legs. As a result of that damaged sofa being left on her brand new rug by the delivery men, it damaged the rug as well (they eventually declined to help repair). When my daughter returned to the retail store to finally ask what could be done after experiencing such an inconvenience, she was given NO offering of restitution other than a $75 DECOR gift certificate! There was no offer to giver her an additional credit towards the purchase of a different sofa, no credit of delivery of a different model sofa she would choose…nothing. What’s even more disheartening is that the corporate office has echoed this same sentiment of which my daughter was told that they have “strict” policies for their customers regarding returns and cancellations. Unfortunately, they don’t hold themselves accountable to the same level or standard of policy when it comes to the quality of the products that they promise to deliver. To say that I am disappointed and ashamed that I referred someone, especially my daughter, here and for her to receive such cold and unforgiving treatment is an understatement. And not to mention, my mother, whom I also referred to a location in Jacksonville, is now in the midst of her 3rd delivery of a damaged partial sectional as well. In my experienced opinion, RTG is no longer the premier furniture retailer it used to be. My relationship with them is...
Read moreWe went to Rooms to Go for a new couch with power recline and a center console. There was a wide selection and Joe, the salesperson, was attentive but not hovering. We found one we really liked but wanted to look a few more places before making a final decision. After visiting a few more stores, we returned, ready to make our purchase. We found Joe and he started our order. He went through the price, delivery, and the extended warranty. We told him firmly, twice, that we did not want the warranty. He told us to wait a moment while he went to see if he could get us a better deal, perhaps an upcoming sales price.
A few minutes later he returned with Phil, the manager. We had a sinking feeling the hard sell was coming and we were right. Phil sat down and told us there were no sales coming up for the couch we wanted, so we weren't going to get any price breaks. Then he proceeded to tell us about the extended warranty. I told him no three times, but he insisted on continuing. At that point, my wife jumped in and told him no, NO MEANS NO! It took 5 times and a threat to walk out to get them to stop trying to push the extended warranty on us. What started as a positive experience turned into something similar to a time share sales presentation where they don't let you leave until you agree.
I wish I could separate out the reviews. Joe, the salesperson, would get 4, until he caved to management. Phil, the manager, would get 0 stars. He really doesn't understand that no means no. The delivery crew would get 5. That is why I settled on 3 stars.
Bottom line, there is a good selection, but be prepared to be subjected to high pressure sales of an extended warranty. and for Phil, the manager,...
