I’m deeply disappointed and disturbed by my recent experience at this hotel — not just because of poor service, but because of what felt like a clear instance of racial discrimination toward me as a Black man traveling with my family.
My partner (who is White and Filipino) called about an hour prior to our arrival to confirm that emotional support animals (ESAs) and service animals were accepted. We were told directly over the phone that my ESA — which I have documentation for, due to medical reason— would be allowed. Based on that assurance, we booked the room.
When we arrived, my partner went in to finalize the booking. There were no issues raised about the dog until I approached the door with our son and my ESA. Suddenly, a young front desk employee stopped me and said no pets were allowed. I calmly explained that we had already confirmed this ahead of time, and that my dog was an ESA. She asked if I had documentation showing I needed the animal medically. I confirmed that I did — but also explained that, under federal law, I’m not required to disclose private medical documentation to a hotel employee. That’s when she moved the goalpost yet again, stating I could bring my dog in for a $200 fee — contradicting everything we were told earlier and essentially trying to strong-arm us into paying for our rights.
It became blatantly obvious this was never about hotel policy. It was about me — specifically, me being Black.
The employee gave multiple conflicting justifications: first it was hotel policy, then it was guest allergies, then it was a fee that could override both. At that point, it was clear this was personal. I had just entered with my family, and I had done absolutely nothing wrong — but I was treated like a threat, an inconvenience, and a liar.
To make matters worse, when I called out the unprofessionalism of this interaction and documented it with a photo, the employee responded by flipping me off with her pinky — an immature and cowardly gesture that speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism at this establishment.
I’ve driven through much of Montana and saw very few Black people during my trip, so this wasn’t just another customer service issue — this was textbook discrimination, thinly disguised as “policy.” The gaslighting, the shifting rules, and the visible discomfort with my presence made one thing painfully clear: this hotel was not prepared to treat a Black man and his family with basic respect or dignity.
I hope management takes a hard look at the culture they’ve allowed to grow here. No guest should be made to feel like an intruder because of their race — especially not while traveling with their child and seeking mental health support through an ESA.
Until this hotel publicly addresses this situation and holds their staff accountable, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone — especially those from marginalized communities.
I don’t not recommend this hotel to anyone who does look like the employee in this picture we were charged over $200 to be sent across the street and waiting 3-5 days for my money to be returned. This is unacceptable and everything that is wrong with not only this country, but the state and the establishment. She should be fired and nobody I mean nobody should ever be treated like this especially somewhere they’re spending their hard earned money. Is this the experience this hotel is ok with customers receiving and and you find this employee’s behavior acceptable? Nice to know how yall feel. They refused to let me speak to their manager and we still have not been contacted by a member of their management. At the bare minimum this hotel should and needs to make a public apology, due to embarrassing me, not only in public, but in front of my...
Read moreMy two kids, in-laws, wife, and I stayed at the C’Mon Inn on Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025. For the most part it was a very enjoyable experience. We stayed in the 2 Queen Jacuzzi Suite and it was awesome and spacious. It had more than enough room for the six of us to relax and sleep comfortably. My wife and in-laws took the beds and the kids slept in the pull out couch. I thought the bed was super comfortable and I slept great each night. As advertised, the room did have a jacuzzi that was situated in the center of the room. The balcony for our room was large and overlooked the main lobby/floor of the hotel. I spent a lot of time sitting out on it. Shower was small but had superb pressure and plenty of hot water. TV was adequate and the refrigerator was useful.
Our check-in experience went just how we would have wanted it. The girls working the desk were friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the delicious, hot (and complimentary) cookies. The rustic cabin theme of the hotel is fun and everything is decorated so nicely. The pool is inviting and aesthetically-pleasing with all the natural light that comes in thanks to the plentiful windows. I personally loved the breakfast—sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, muffins, bagels, cereal, juice, milk, and more. You can eat at one of the tables in the breakfast bar area or opt for what we did and take your food to the room and eat it on the balcony. Also really enjoyed the large TV and comfortable couches in the lobby area. While waiting for the women in our group to come down, I would usually plop down and watch sports.
I did want to point out some of the areas for improvement. There is an arcade but it is a complete racket. When I took my son down there, it was really tough to decipher how much the games cost. When it came to the Pac-Man game, it was either more than $1 to play or the machine simply ate our four quarters…either way, it is waaay too expensive. Also, the maid service was a miss. Upon check-in, the girls working the desk ask if we wanted full maid service that included new sheets and made beds. We signed up for it but when we came back Saturday night absolutely nothing had been done in our room. This was frustrating because we worked hard to get out of our room by 10 a.m. (as the hotel staff asked us to do for the service) only to have that effort go for naught. It is a little deflating when you are anticipating a room that has been freshened up only for it to still be unmade when you open the door at the end of a long day. Another perplexing reality was that many of the hot tubs were out of commission during our stay. Finally, when we entered our room upon check-in, there was a dead bug (it was small) on our coffee maker.
But the bottom line is that the value is incredible. We paid $200 per night on a Griz football weekend for a large room with a complimentary breakfast, free parking, fresh baked cookies, a pool, and more. Overall, we appreciated our stay and despite some of the minor disappointments, we...
Read moreLove this place! I've lived in Missoula, but with everyone getting sick I needed a hotel room for a few nights. It has such a great atmosphere with the log and waterfalls. Breakfast is good as is the coffee, hallelujah. I love so much that they have kept amenities and service how a hotel aught to be, how things used to be, in a way that is good for their guests. Key things they have kept that you can no longer readily expect at many chain hotel like Hilton, Radisson and the like: check out time 1200. Bless you for actually being reasonable. There is a microwave And refrigerator in the rooms, I know pretty basic right, tell that to the big 220+$ a night chains no eco restriction on my rooms thermostat yay:) (I no longer stay at any hotel that does this!) Hot tubs, plural, and they work and are actually hot and clean 😍 Very comfortable beds Very comfy recliner chair, wahoo Desk to work at, this was very helpful for my zoom meetings Ironing board and iron, again helpful on work trips accessible outlets, and outlets on lamps for charging cables. The only things I'll say is the thermostat is very outdated, while I very very much appreciate there not being insane, unhospitable, eco restricted thermoregulation in my room, you can not set a temp as there are no numbers or auto settings so I kept waking too hot or cold and adjusting it just guessing. But I'll take that by far over these new horribly micromanaging thermostats in many hotels now that severely restrict how low you can set them and or do not have a continuous fan availability. The only other thing, and I would do this first, is they need more plush heavier comforters as they are very thin and light.I tend to bring my own extra blanket if driving as this is somehwat common now too, but if youre flying you cant do this, and with this one I still wanted another blanket as I need the weight of it. But when I asked for another blanket I got it right away and was very comfortable. They hotel and rooms are very clean, staff is friendly and it is located just at the edge of town minutes to stores and restaurants and still very quiet and lovely. I would highly recommend staying here for a cozy more unique MT stay:) I will definitely stay here in the future if I jeed a room and ve recommending it to friends and...
