I am concerned that this property owner is intentionally filling rooms that are inhabitable and problematic. After a long day on the road I checked into this hotel at 11:00pm. After getting my family situated we went to take a much needed hot shower and the shower drain did not work. The water did NOT drain. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back! This room smelled of mold and had water damage on throughout the bathroom. The tub did not drain properly. All the water pooled for over 15 minutes. The shower liner was missing and the paint was peeling off the ceiling and wall. This bathroom posed many health concerns. The room itself was filthy and the carpet was sticky with stains and residue. The base of the bed was falling apart. Underneath the sofa had previous guest trash underneath. I notified the front desk at 12:30 and she came up to the room to observe the issue and told me she will call the owner. At 1:00 the receptionist called the room and told me the owner said he will deal with it personally in the morning. I was not happy about this and called corporate. Corporate then contacted the property owner to move us to another property. At 2:30 I received another call from the receptionist stating that they can offer me a room at the Hilton sister property which had a lower rating than this property. By this time my family was sleeping and their offer was not acceptable so I declined. I’m the morning no one contacted us to apologize or make the issue correct. I called down and spoke to “Thomas the General Manager” who was very indifferent about the issue. I asked him to come see the room and concerns and he told me he will send maintenance in 15 minutes. Upon Checking out I asked for him and showed him the pictures and video of the issues and he seem indifferent and stated that they offered me a room at the Hilton. It was clear to me they knew this room was not in good standing and did not care. Stay away. This is definitely not the...
Read moreUpon arrival, there was not anyone at the front desk and I patiently waited for about 5-7 mins before the front desk attendant came around the corner. She was cordial and gave me a bag of water and snacks as a welcome after giving me my room key. The hotel itself was clean from an initial inspection however when I got into my room I noticed a red-orange crust on the sides of both beds and crusted fluid on the floors. I pulled the bed spread back and was disgusted by the same red-orange crusted fluid that I assumed must have been vomit on the sheets. I called to the lobby and informed the receptionist who sent a housekeeper with clean sheets. He handed me the new sheets and I was confused bc I assumed they would strip and remake the bed. I decided I just wanted a completely new room as I didn’t feel comfortable or hygienic about staying in a room that I would essentially sanitize and clean myself. I asked for a new room and the receptionist put me in a new room. On this particular floor, there were so many guests who treated the hotel as if it were a long term apartment rental. Guests were in the hallways on FaceTime or playing music out loud. The guests above my room sounded like they were playing football until 2am. When I woke up at 7am, the power was out and I couldn’t make any calls downstairs to ask when it would be up. There wasn’t any concern about this from the hotel staff and when I left the hotel at 9:40am, there was no power, there were guests in the lobby lounging, there was a guest who pulled their car up to the pool and had loud music playing, there were multiple people loitering in the parking lot. As a flight attendant, I’ve stayed in many Marriott properties and the spring hill suites in Mobile, Al felt like a motel. I am highly disappointed and I will not return nor recommend this hotel to anyone who...
Read moreNo tub, no hospitality unless you ask for it, they charge $24.09 for "incidental expenses" but they can't tell you what they are, other than getting something from the vending area near the front desk and having it charged to your room. There is a landline in the room that may also be considered "incidental" but that's anyone's guess. The only thing i could find online is $24.09 as the charge for an extra person in the room, but nobody at the front desk was able to confirm. Besides the room rate, there is also a 'room charge' on the itinerary of $5-$6/day. maybe it's for housekeeping, but i had already left a tip in the room before i checked out, so i asked the front desk and was advised its a standard charge. If the room is already paid for, why the "standard charge"? No response/no idea. Great. They work here but they can't answer any questions about charges. Taxes & Fees are added when you reserve the room and that standard charge is expected. If you then add the, to my mind anyway, unexpected additional room rate(s) per day and their mysterious "incidental" fee(s) - you are clearly more a wallet to Springhill Suites than a person or valued guest. They deliver the bare minimum while upcharging whatever they can get away with. No wonder airbnb is a thing now. Taking advantage of the weight room or pool doesn't make up for it imo because you can't relax. The same business that brought me to Mobile this year will cause me to return again next year but i WILL NOT be staying here. My recommendation is that you don't either; there are surely better places to spend...
