Revision: (1/5)
I hate to do this but I went for dinner last night and had just about the worst overall dining experience of my life. The service was abysmal i waiting 15 minutes just for my tea which ended up being completely tasteless. I ordered the grandmas sampler and the presentation was the worst I’ve seen from any Cracker Barrel location. The pancakes were covered in flakes off the griddle and had hair in them. I complained about said hair and was only given $1 off my bill. I was with a group and all other plates featured just as poor conditions. I tried some of everything my table ordered and all of it just didn’t taste right, the fish was not seasoned, neither was the okra, the Mac and cheese had almost no cheese, and the roast beef just looked fundamentally wrong. Our server continued to give a dismissive attitude to our concerns and only visited the table in large intervals, something which can be understood for a busy restaurant but we were one of about 5 tables in the place. The napkins given to our table were not in a stack but thrown in a pile, and we watched all the other tables get the usual service but our server was nowhere to be found. I also observed as every table around us sent back at least 1-2 items with one man leaving without paying because his food was so poorly prepared. Really a shame to see and I hope that things can turn around soon but this has ended my patronage from this location for awhile.
(Note):
I could understand this service if we had gone later at night closer to closing but we were seated an hour and a half or so before close so that is no excuse for this experience.
Original: (4/5) The store is great and so is the food. Always been a big fan of Cracker Barrel and this is a good location. The area is a little messy and the service can be slow and unprofessional but as long as you order the right item you’ll...
Read moreCracker barrel lost it's way tonight. We arrived about 8:00 pm on a Saturday and the place was empty. We ordered drinks and that's when things took a turn for the worse. Drinks arrive and the server spills it all over the table and all over me and my son. We then asked to move tables and was questioned if that was ok. We move tables one table over and then shortly after our biscuits arrive. They are burnt. We try to eat the top of the biscuits but have trouble because we never got silverware. After waiting about 5 minutes we then go to the front and ask someone to bring the silverware. We get it and then eat what we can and wait for our dinner. Once it arrives we thought finally things will go better. As we start eating an employee starts cleaning with broom and holdable dustpan. She is slamming the broom against the dustpan over and over and each time gets slightly closer to our table. After about 8 minutes she is just behind my wife's chair still slamming the broom and my wife ask her to please stop as we can't think and eat our food peacefully. The building only has 3 tables sitting at it. On Saturday the place closes at 10:00 pm and it's 8:35. Shortly after the waitress comes back with receipt and ask if we need anything because she is going to start cleaning. We asked for a togo cup and box. No one really seemed to care about the big mess up they had and no managers checked on us. Paid the bill in full and left. I just feel like for the money I am paying was very sub par service. No one seemed to care. Won't be back...
Read moreI did not hate the place but we waited 45 minutes and no waiter so finally I asked a person who was cleaning table off if they could get a waiter so she took our order and said she was not our waiter. We waited about 10 more minutes and our waiter brought our coffee which was luke warm and said our order would be out soon, another 1o minutes she came to wait on another table and we called her over and told her we were going to leave if we didn't get our order then. She went to kitchen and in 1 minute brought order which was practically cold, asked for biscuits salt and pepper brought biscuits only, we finally went to a table that hadn't been cleaned off and got salt and pepper and by then entire breakfast was cold. Bacon was burned and some wasn't even half cooked. We asked for hot coffee and got that. We left food on table. We had to ask for every little thing we ordered. We kept waiting on a ticket never got one and finally got up went to register and asked for manager. She was very nice and did not charge us for the meal which we only tasted. The point is other people were waiting long periods of time too and some were being waited on before others ahead of arriving.I really don't know if it was the waiter or the cooks or a combination. All I know was this was the worst service by far I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. I don't like to complain but this needs to be brought to management attention. I am a very frequent visitor to Cracker Barrel, but will be very hesitant in the future especially this...
