Let me first say I use to eat here 2- 3 times a week, since they were located in the mall, however it's been about 2 years since I've been here. I ordered 1 spicy tuna taco, 1 salmon taco, teriyaki salmon bowl with chicken added. While placing my order I asked for the noodles to be juicy, not like a Ramen bowl but not dry, I then asked now much it would be if I want to add grill chicken. Waiter came back and said $5. I said okay want teriyaki grill salmon and chicken bowl, but I don't want the salmon over cooked. He asked if I wanted it to stay on the grill longer, I said oh no. I want him to take it off sooner. Describe the it would be similar to a medium steak, and stated I just dont want hard. Waiter said oh no, it's not hard at all.
Problem 1. The teriyaki bowl comes out with double chicken. Called 1 of the waitress over and asked her she said oh that's our grill chicken. I informed her the order should've been grilled salmon and chicken. She stated she'll go check, then never came back. After about 5 minutes I called the waiter to check the status of it, at the same time the crispy edged salmon arrives. The salmon appeared to be deep fried with out batter. I called the waitress and informed her that the salmon was way too hard, I explained I requested it to be removed sooner bc I didn't want the crispy salmon. The 4 huddled up waitress and waiter came to the conclusion that it can only be cooked 2 ways fried with batter or grilled that way. It was puzzling to me that the only comprehensive way and asked if the cook could've just remove it sooner. Her response was, "no, they only know how to cook it those 2 ways", followed by,"what you want it raw then" I told her no, I just don't want it to be crispy. I told her thank you but I no longer wanted the bowl.* search the photos as you will see the does come without being deep fried in oil.
Problem 2. The waiter comes over and states he thought I wanted double chicken. So I reviewed my order and give a brief recapped what I asked while placing my order. His response, "I don't want to argue, I just thought you wanted that". I said it's no argue however I specifically asked so it could be right. He asked if I wanted anything else, I said no, thank you. Note: Everyone else is completely done eating with the empty dishes still on the table.
Problem 3. After observing for nearly 10 minutes the 4 staff members watch a game or movie on behind the countertop, joke with each other, our waiter seat a booth behind us, help someone clean off another booth, chat some more, and my friend wave at the waiter and he pretend not to see him, I start recording recording to see how long it would take for someone to come back to the table with our check... finally a waitress asked if we wanted anything else, I told her no just the check, thank you. I observed them intentionally not serving our table for about 10 minutes before I pulled out my camera to record them for 7 minutes. While checking out I asked for the owners number, she asked a guy standing behind the counter and he told her no. I ask if he was the manager, she stated the cook manager, so I asked for the manager number. I was given the manager information all while the dark haired waitress that told me, there was only 2 ways to serve the salmon, makes snarkly comment like, "whatever", "oh, well" accompanied by smirks and laughter amongst the other staff members.
I never raised my voice, cursed, or expressed aggression.
I will definitely never be back. I tip well and now that I text this I may have forgotten to tip him in tonight. I do apologize for that bc I intend to, tip the standard 15% for his time.
I hate when business owners leave customer service to kids/young adults with no customer service skills.
My husband and I have gone to Happy Sushi almost every other day this past week including just yesterday. I have receipts to prove it. We both work & when we discovered Happy Sushi & found that they have Ramen Bowls & Bubble Tea we immediately had to go. We spend around $55.00 to $75.00 on average with no problem & take something to go for lunch the following day. I didn't want to write this review being that I am so tired from work earlier today but the service was so irritating & uncomfortable that I couldn't do anything but come home a get right on my computer to let our friends & followers know about our experience. We have had the best service with the following servers Tiffany, Ryan, & Jessie. Tiffany is our primary server & all of them give excellent service but she takes the cake. Now tonight we had Azi, I wouldn't recommend her for anything dealing with the public, but I would recommend her for more training. When my husband & I dine out we get what ever we want & may take something to-go. We arrived & were seated. The server who names shows as Azi on the receipt who tendered us out upon our exit as well, She came over with utensils etc. She took our drink order, & returned with drinks , then put in our appetizer order & asked if we were ready to order. My husband said not just yet he was still looking over the menu. Now for us not only is this dinner but its a business meeting a time for us to discuss business since we are business owners & we are not discussing business once we get home. The server came over again & my husband gave her our order, just as she was getting our dinner order, our appetizer arrived on the food train and my husband asked for a refill on his tea. the appetizer wasn't going to take long because it was the Happy Fries. We then received My husbands Noodle bowl on the food train with a salad. She then brought out My Ramen bowl. Next the train arrive again with our food and someone else food on it but we didn't know it was our sushi because there were to other bowls of food on it & I didn't want to contaminate anyone's food by handling it if we weren't sure the food was ours or someone else because we knew that two bowls were not ours. The train went back & came back out with just the two bowls that went to one of the tables behind us. then it came back to our table with just the sushi which was ours. Our server came back over shortly after & asked if everything was o.k. & if she could get us anything else. We advised not right now but we will probably order a to-go bubble tea before we leave out. I advised that I would let her know because we had just started eating our food. This young lady came back & fourth to our table what felt like every 5 minutes or more not to see if my husband needed a refill on his tea or water or my water but to see if we needed to-go plates or our ticket. We hadn't been the long enough to get a taste for our food then about the 5th time that she came over but there are other tables in the restaurant that she is not going back and fourth too, just ours. The every booth in the restaurant was full and what looked like party of 4 came in & was waiting for a table. The second booth behind our booth the one closes to the window had been there eating before when we arrived. I mean already had there food and was eating when we walked past them to be seated. In a nut shell this young lady rushed us to eat our food. I wish I couldn't have posted our entire experience but It wont fit in the text box. We were rushed and then she sent another young lady to try to rush us. We may only return when and if the regular crew is there but if they are not the we wont dine. I even had to tell this young lady that she kept rushing us. She advised that she isn't trying to rush us. I asked then why are you only coming back and fourth to us and no-one else. Normally we leave a generous tip for whomever is helping us, and sometimes its more then one person, but not her. We decided not to even get our take home bubble teas...
Read moreSo it was ok not the best ramen shop I've been to as far as taste, service was so so don't know if the waitress was afraid of me, but ok. The one think that irked my nerves was that fact that I couldn't get my money back on the double pork belly since it was nothing but fat and some of it tasted like charred not flavorful like normal ramen shops I've been to. Nor was it cut where you get a nice balance between fat and meat. The reason I couldn't get my money back was because I ate it. But that would mean I ate it all which you can see I only had about five percent before I called it quits and separated only fat peices on the (left) which out weighed the peices with meat that still had fat on it on the (right). You would think they would rectify my complaint, it wasn't like I was being rude about. Why wouldn't you justify the wrong that was done. None the less I left it alone only because I didn't want to start any trouble still tipped 7 for so par service because it's not her fault for what the manager stated even though he or she should have addressed, not make the waitress do it, which she did come back after the complaint and I recieved my check by a guy, making me think she really was afraid of me which is a first because I've never experienced this before. Of course I wouldn't be going back since I didn't feel welcome there to begin with and even if they tried to rectify it now, in my humble opinion it should have been dealt with the first time. Sadly I'm new to Alabama so my search for a good ramen shop to replace all the ones I've been to in multiple states...
