I recently stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott in Modesto, and I was blown away by the service of the night auditor, Lou. He went above and beyond to make sure that I had a comfortable stay.
When I checked in, Lou was very friendly and helpful. He gave me a tour of the hotel and showed me to my room. He also made sure that I had everything I needed, including a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, and a working TV.
The next morning, I woke up early and went downstairs to the lobby. Lou was still working, and he greeted me with a smile. He asked me if I had slept well, and he offered me a cup of coffee. I accepted his offer, and we chatted for a few minutes.
Lou told me that he had been working for Marriott for many years, and he loved his job. He said that he enjoyed meeting new people and helping them have a great stay. He also said that he was proud of the work that he did, and he wanted to make sure that every guest had a positive experience.
I was very impressed by Lou's friendly service and his dedication to his job. He made me feel welcome and appreciated, and he went the extra mile to make sure that I had a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this RI Marriott to anyone, and I would specifically request Lou as my check-in guy.
Here are some specific examples of how Lou went the extra mile for me:

I would definitely stay at the Residence Inn Marriott again, and I would specifically request Lou as my night auditor. He is a friendly and helpful employee who goes the extra mile to make sure that guests have a...
Read moreI was so disappointed with our stay at the Marriott Residence Inn at Modesto. Originally, I called to confirm our arrival and the person who answered the phone, Dave or Dan seemed uninterested in working on that Saturday day. That was strike 1. I asked Dan if there was by chance a room with 2 Double Beds and he told me that it was not available and I would need to look into their sister hotel. I thought he was a little rude on the phone and asked his name. When he gave it me, his attitude seemend to perk up a bit. When we arrived and checked in, I asked the front desk attendant again if there might be a room with 2 beds and she rudely answered with, "You have a 2 bedroom suite." Oh okay, thank you Dan or Dave! Strike 1 was now taken away, but given back to the night attendant. Then, when we went to our room, I turned down the bed, as I always do and noticed that there were a few black hairs on the sheets. After I pulled the top comforter completely off the bed, I noticed over 20 black hairs on the sheets and the top comforter. As you could imagine, I was completely disgusted! When I went down to tell the front desk attendant, she again was rude and told me she would send someone up to change the sheets. No apologies at all! Strike 2 and 3!!! I stay at Marriott Residence often because I travel with my kids for sports. I have never encountered a bed this disgusting and such rude front desk attendants. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I reccomend that others not stay here either until they can train the employees to be more customer service oriented and to make sure that all rooms get cleaned after someone stays in them! So disappointed! I've added photos.Unfortunately, the photos are a bit blurry. I don't blame Marriott, but I do blame the management team...
Read moreI asked the young female front desk agent to put me in a room that was away from road noise and that was quiet. She said the room was in the “perfect spot and is away from noise”. That was definitely not the case! My room was awful because of this, if I didn’t unpack all of my things for the week I would’ve asked to move rooms but it was too late. The management definitely needs to educate their staff when guest ask for this request. The noise from the road was awful, also I absolutely hated that the air would not kick on unless it was at the temperature, at other properties I’m able to use the fan setting as a way to drown out the noise but I wasn’t able to do this at this property. The water would take at least a minute or so to get warm/hot when taking a shower each day I was taking a shower. The internet was pretty slow too, for basic speed I was getting around 10mbps up and down and for the “upgraded” speeds I was getting 18 mbps up and down, definitely one of the slower internet speeds I’ve dealt with at all the Marriott properties I’ve stayed at. I wish I could say I enjoyed my stay here but it was really ruined from the start with the noise. Being at the corner of the hotel that’s closest to the road you would think the young lady at the desk would know better since she was so confident when I asked for a quieter room but I guess not. Stay away from room 403 if you want more quiet because at all hours of the day and night you can hear EVERYTHING...
