First, are you visiting Detroit, Toledo or Ann Arbor.. do you just want to stay in Monroe... or go shopping in Dundee? |||| I travel a lot... I like places that feel like home. If you are like me.. Then you would love the Del Rio. I feel like I have my own apartment. Like "home" The rooms are clean, and the place is very quiet. It was built in the 1930's and I love the Art Decco... They even have the old milk box... you know where you open a door and put your empty milk bottles in.. and the Milk man delivered your fresh milk from the outside... too cool, I had forgot about them... ||||When I first arrived last week, there were 3 of us... This is a one bedroom full apartment with I would say a 40 inch TV, VCR, DVD, and CD player... yes it has Surround sound... three closets to hang your clothes... nice tile and hardwood floors... full kitchen.. This is a one bedroom apartment, but the management was more than creative when they set up another queen size bed in the livingroom to accomendate "all" us. ||||I have to work while I travel.. so must have Broad band... and they have a very good "Hot Spot"... I have verizion FioS in Tampa which is suppose to be the fastest.. I am not noticing any difference in sending or receiving down loads.... ||||The Beds... nice... real beds... bed skirts... comforters... no looking for "is it really clean"...you could tell, as many pillows as we needed.. and my one friend, well she really likes comfort!!!||||I could of chose a larger apartment, but my friends joing me here were only staying a couple of days, and I knew I would be her for awhile... so the management suggested I choose the suite that I did... I saved money and I did not need to move to a smaller suite when my friends left.||||How did we manage.... very well, I am used to living alone.. so I had my bedroom to go to for my "quiet" time... and they are 24/7 TV watchers... so them in the Living room worked out well. It is my understanding there are very elegant suites here too, that can accomendate large parties such as families, or even a single person and the rates start at about 40 bucks a night... they also rent by the week...||||Location, location, location... for me, having been raised in Monroe. It is close to everything I need. I can walk downtown... it is just a block..or be at Metro Airport in 30 minutes... The Del Rio did offer to pick my friends up from Metro, but I wanted to do that.. ||||I have lived away for over 20 years, but Monroe is where my family is. I come to town quite frequently, and usually stay at the hotels near I-75, but not anymore... just 2 miles and you can have much better place to stay.... quiet... very quiet... I have not been woke up once... and I am a light sleeper... When ever I have stayed at a place at I-75... all you hear is semi-trucks all night long... and the "party people" ... oh yeah some of the places out there... you never know who is pulling off I-75... I have a lot of expensive stuff I travel with.... I am a business person... High Tech... I do not worry about "my stuff"... at the Del Rio...||||At the Del Rio... I hear birds singing... the church next door is actually famous locally for the beautiful music it plays, before the bells rings... how loud is it? Well you do have to go outside to hear them. Again, everyone in town loves this church's music and bells because they are not annoying!!!! ||||My friends that joined me... are world travelers, and are used to the "finer" things in life... This was their first trip to Michigan, and I wanted a nice place. When they go shopping in Manhatten, they stay at the Warwick Hotel. They said they actually Loved the Del Rio.... and trust me.. my one friend is very picky...||||How is the service... well it is not your average place to stay.. There is not a desk or a desk clerk... John, the manager meets you and helps you with your luggage, he is very helpful, and refused to accept a tip... we had a lot of stuff!!!! ||||Sercurity... well it is Monroe.. not much needed.. however you do have a magnetic card to get inside the lobby... then a key to your door... I feel safe... The County Sheriff (my Cousin) just lives around on the next corner anyway... ||||I don't like daily maid service... I can have it if I want it... I said I like to be left alone... which they have left me alone.. but when I need something, they are here with it... lotion, coffee, towels... as many as we have needed...||||Now here is the impressive part... I had a tail light go out... and we needed to be in Ann Arbor the next morning.. I asked John, "where can I get it fixed early in the morning"... he had a guy here at 8am... fixing my tail light,.. I have a van.. this man had to take out the whole unit... He did it... he only wanted to be paid for the bulbs..I gave him 30 dollars for everything... see he replaced ALL the bulbs.. because when one goes... typically they all will start blowing.. so change them all... I have NEVER had such service...||||Why were my friends here? Well we went to a festival in Ann Arbor... then a record release party for the Gore Gore Girls in Detroit... Monroe is the perfect place to stay... Quiet town... nice people... really low crime, I feel safe leaving my vehicle... my mother lives two miles away and she never locks her doors... it is just that kind of town..||||You are within a reasonable driving distance to Detroit, Toledo, and Ann Arbor. There is all the "tourist" things to do.. or shopping!!! Lake Erie and everything it has to offer is right here.. You can be at the casinos in Detroit 35 minutes.... 45 minutes to Windsor Ontario and that is including crossing the border.. 20 minutes to toledo.. and about 30 to 40 minutes from Ann Arbor... all the expressways come are right here... You can go for a walk from the Del Rio and "spotzier" around the River Raisen... nice river walk.. St mary's park is just two blocks. In the summer they have free concerts there... and a place for your kids to play year around!!! ||||If you are hungry... there is Zorba's and JJ Smokehouse that will deliver to the Del Rio... yes Pizza too!!! What I liked is... I went to Danny's which is where they have the BEST prime Meat... brought my Rib Eye.. back to the Del Rio, and cooked one of the best steaks I have had in years... Nice considereing I just ate at Berns Steakhouse in Tampa before I left on my trip... ||||I travel around... this is the happeist place I have stayed.. I am on my 11th day here... no problems I will stay a few more... ||||My friends were so impressed, that is all they have talked about is how they loved this apartment... or Suite if you may.... ||||So if I were visiting anywhere near Detroit, Toledo, Ann Arbor, or just Monroe. I would stay at the Del Rio.... Just ask for John.. he takes care of everything...||||Laura Burchfield,...

Staff is very weird to say the least, paid 2 months in advance to get a not even finished apartment, every room was filthy ,wasn't painted, went without a window in my bedroom for over a year, knobs on the stove included in the unit were off like 400° on the dial turned off the oven, I was evicted due to telling management I wasn't going to renew my lease just a horrible experience all together the manager was sending his little "employees" to listen in on my apartment during the last 2 months and the manager also likes walking into your apartment without your consent he thinks he owns you and he tells other tenants all your financial business just be careful if thinking about renting here...

I like everything about it it's a solid building that holds a lot of the outside sounds out in each unit in side each individual place the sound is kept it's alright uptown you don't even have to drive it's cheaper and faster just a walker take a bus which is available weekly daily it's it's raining in town butt off from the main busy road which is Monroe Street two blocks for the down so it's more private I really do...
