The former Manager, Brayli, was the best part of my long term stay at LEL. I did not care for the nonstop traffic noise on the CV Road. The interior of the units was just OK, kind of dark. it could use some Light and modernization; they need to improve the wifi connection and other electrical outlets and equipment. The small bathroom was oddly designed and awkward. The unit I was in was all one room and quite odd sized with the bed at the very back wall against large windows. It was drafty and next to the unappealing “backyard”. The adjacent restaurant noise was quite loud. Wine bottles tossed out twice a day. The kitchen had no counter space for food prep. I Paid for “kitchenette” but it barely qualified. The front door was a glass slider, hard to open and the screen door was even more stubborn. The patio looks cute but it fills with raw olives and is messy to walk in and the patio itself needs replacing. During colder weather the unit was freezing. In warm/hot weather it was Stuffy and HOT. The property must have been lovely at some point in the past but it’s now old and rundown. It needs to be cleaned and renovated. Too bad about the location. The current rates are quite high for what you get but it’s a place to stay if the other hotels in the...
Read moreThe property is quirky more than it is European. The sheets are softer than almost anything I've ever laid on, wow! The towels are fluffy and thirsty too. They put the little things in the room, fridge, microwave, WATER, knife, corkscrew, coffee maker, coffee and tea, cups, plates, knives, spoons and forks. Our hostess was kind and not terribly intrusive, just everywhere all the time minding the property as you'd expect.
A short walk or drive to lots of wineries and places to eat. But this is Northern California, so there's no "budget" option, however, you eat so well, you don't really mind. Prices are high, but quality is too!
Overall three stars (more like 3.75, if I could give it) because it is more like a roadside motel than a "European Lodge" but that's okay once you get past the name. Enjoy this little space for a long weekend or just...
Read moreThe place can have better upkeep in the outside of each room. It looked a little run down on the outside. The room was ok, I can see they have made a good effort to make it look nice and cozy. The shower and the restroom were great and we had everything we needed in the room, like a good TV service, refrigerator, microwave and a Keurig coffee machine with different brands of coffee. They also provide water bottles, disposable silverware etc. the towels were very good quality and looked brand new. Unfortunately, we stayed two days and they didn't come to make the bed, empty the trash or clean the restroom or provide new soap or toiletries for the second day. The place is run like an Airbnb more...
