What a charming location possessing a backyard patio eating area reminiscent of a small hilltown trattoria or osteria in Tuscany or Umbria. The menu is small but they do what they do correctly and that's more important than a large scale menu. They can focus on the essentials .
The pizza is fantastic. I had the sausage pizza for takeout yesterday and enjoyed it through the evening and morning. I've had other items on the menu recently as well as the french onion soup which was the special for today and most delicious. The fish tacos are always a go-to. And the pizza, back to the pizza.... it's more about the crust and that's where they nail it. The toppings are great as well. I would recommend the Meyer lemon pizza, the sausage, or the helote pizza(a Mexican corn street food delight).
But try everything if you get a chance..That was on top of my meal of a great hamburger. There's only one on the menu and that's all you need . A caesar salad and two glasses of a very good local Chardonnay(Georgis). I've been here several times over the past 8-9 years and the consistency of quality and service is excellent and commendable. Quality has not dimmed. It's gotten better. This is in a little village with several good restaurants to eat at as well as a lot of good local wineries in the area. And foodie having Carmel not too far away. But they hold their own.
As far as wine regions between Yountville and Los Olivos, I might still opt for this area for its beauty, quiet and calm, scenery, and good food and wine, and the price is still remarkably good for the area. So I wax poetic....🤩 Just try it for yourself and you'll love...
Read morePlease know that I am a cook and a food connoisseur. My friend and I dined at Corkscrew Cafe last evening. We were blown away! Every dish we ordered exceeded expectations! It was a perfect party of palatable joy! A friend of Christina's had recommended the Meyer's Lemon Prosciutto Pizza. Serious magic on the tongue!!! And the crust... I normally don't eat the crust of a pizza. I devoured every bit. My favorite pizza is a margarita pizza. We shared. It was every bit as delightful as the Meyer's lemon! I'm a calamari snob. HANDS DOWN the BEST calamari on the Monterey Peninsula! Tender, light, fresh Monterey Bay calamari. And they are brilliant enough to serve it with both tartar sauce and a delightful cocktail sauce. You MUST experience the PEAR SALAD! We delightfully sipped LaMarca Prosecco during our meal. The servers were friendly and caring. The pizza cook a genius! We asked if we could bring fresh gluten-free pizza dough and if they would use it to prepare a pizza for Christina's daughter next week. They are happy to accommodate! It definitely without any hesitation is worth the drive into beautiful Carmel Valley!!! I can't wait to go again and again. I have to try their pasta with Bolognese and their short...
Read moreWhat an amazing venue for our rehearsal dinner! It was the perfect intimate space for an incredible meal with our family and friends, and so much of that was due to Eder. We can’t thank Eder and the staff enough for making the evening come together perfectly. Eder was so thoughtful throughout this process. He worked within our budget to create a menu that our guests loved. He called us the week before, as well as the day before to confirm all the details. He even made sure to just ask how we were doing with our wedding coming up, which showed us how much he cared to make our evening and weekend special. At the dinner, the waiters were extremely attentive as well, making sure everyone had enough wine and food throughout the meal. The space was perfect, between the lighting and the place settings. We would definitely recommend this space for anyone getting married in Carmel Valley - it was very special!...
