So I am disgusted by this restaurant and more so the owner. My daughter in law and a group of well dressed, appropriate women, well behaved ladies and EDUCATED ladies, were there for a nice dinner celebrating a, well what was suppose to be a beautiful occasion as one of the ladies is getting married. The OWNER told one of the girls that they all weren’t appropriate enough to be in her restaurant and “what did the girls think they were in Olive Garden?” What kind of comment is that? And the owner was talking very badly of these girls who were there, as one of the girls overheard her rude commentS to her employee and made a comment of how the girl was dressed and looked her up and down. Who the hell does this owner think she is? EXTREMELY RUDE and INCONSIDERATE. I can’t believe such a human can behave in this manner and say these things to these young ladies who deserved to be there. There was a mixture of race in this group, so is she racist or was did she think these girls didn’t have enough money for her establishment? Plus the waitress ran the credit card WITHOUT permission and then had the gall to give herself a $91 tip? BIG JOKE. Shame on all you people who give your money to this woman’s establishment. Shame on you owner. You should be ashamed of yourself as a human. I will be sure to let people know how you treated these ladies. Who was the more mature individual here? UNBELIEVABLE. And you call yourself OWNER,...
Read moreOur experience here was mixed, but overall great. We went to Roux for a private event recently so I'm not certain that our experience is the standard. We arrived, we're greeted and seated by the chef and staff. All the food we tasted was delicious. Crab cakes, seared salmon, veggie paella, fingerling potatoes. Each one was unique and flavorful, however there didn't seem to be a theme. Either we tasted the entire menu, or a special one for our event, but there was a wide variety of textures and flavors. I had no prior knowledge of Roux, but being a New Orleans native, I had minor expectations of French cuisine to grace the table, but we were surprised with bold flavors and dishes outside the anticipated french norm conjured by the name "roux". I have one complaint: the staff were extremely focused on refilling our glasses of wine. Some would consider this a good thing, but for a classy restaurant, my expectations are that staff should see and know the needs of their customers. If I reject an offer for more wine once, twice, three times, it should be more than clear that I'm done...unless I initiate again. We had 2 tables of 10 people - everyone felt distracted by having to deny wine refills.
Food was lovely and unique. Wine was exceptional. Staff needs a little more training on picking up on...
Read moreWe recently went to Roux at the recommendation of our AirBnB host. The menu looks great, and we heard good things. However, our experience was fair at best The restaurant does not take credit cards. You must pay with cash or Venmo. It would be helpful if the restaurant reminds you of this when they confirm your booking It has the potential to be cozy and charming, but we found the ambience lacking. It is known that the area is cool at night, and we did wear layers as advised. However, the restaurant does very little to make the outdoor environment comfortable. We sat in a dark area for most of our time even though there were lights around that were not on. There was no outdoor heaters or firepits, which we noticed were present at many other locations. We sat on a wooden banquette that would have benefitted from some cushions or pillows. For the price, we found our service less than ideal. We had to ask more than twice for water to brought to the table, and our server mixed up our meals.
The food was good, not outstanding, the atmosphere is fair, and we found the payment options odd. Perhaps they had an off night, but would not repeat our...
