We've been staying at AmericInn hotels for a very long time and this may be the last time. When we first walked into the room it smelled like an ashtray like an old motel would smell. I was the first to take a shower and the shampoo dispenser was totally empty. Looking at the corners of the bathroom or the water closet, the corners were filthy dirty as pictured. We opened up the fold away bed for my son to find that there are no sheets on the mattress. We found the sheets in a drawer however there was this tiny little pillow just like the ones on the bed and zero blankets. When I called down to the front desk to have a blanket and extra pillow brought up it took her around 1 hour and 15 minutes just to bring them up here. We had to call down there a second time to make sure that she didn't forget about us, she said that she was sorry and she got really busy. This basic room with with one queen bed and a fold-out couch was $270 with my military discount. You would think that if they're collecting well over $200 per room per night and the entire hotel totally full that they could afford more than one employee to work the entire hotel. This not only is unfair to the customers it's also unfair to that one employee and also extremely unsafe being that we are in Virginia Minnesota. I don't blame the employee, I blame the manager of this facility and I also blame corporate management for not successfully training a manager to properly run this hotel. I also blame the manager of this hotel for not doing proper quality control checks. If an employee had called in sick and they're supposed to be at least two people running this hotel at night I would fully expect that if the shift couldn't get filled by another employee that the manager would be here to ensure that this hotel was running smoothly and properly. If I could rate this hotel in the negative numbers it would be a negative five stars. We are all very disappointed. Travis Smith

I had a great time staying at this hotel. I was there 3 days. Breakfast is great. The staff is amazing everyone there is friendly and seems to be enjoying themselves. They are always willing to help you if you need anything. Rooms are comfortable and clean. As far as the trains go, I didn’t mind it, maybe because I like trains, once I fell asleep I didn’t wake up because of them. The tracks are close and a light sleeper may have an issue but that is why the hotel provides ear plugs. I will stay here again. And the coffee is good. Most hotels have terrible coffee but not this one.

Make sure to get a room not on train track side. Trains come blaring through constantly and use the train horn. From at least 4am and later it was a train every hr or less. I woke up a few times at night from noise too but wasn’t keeping track of frequency.

To the management: You have incredibly nice and helpful staff. As we checked in, Kirsten, working the front desk, was so helpful and hard working. A great communicator! Rita H did a wonderful job with the breakfast! There was such a nice arrangement and plenty to choose from! She kindly encouraged us not to rush but to enjoy as we visited with another couple we had met there. That was so thoughtful and understanding of her. To Rita, it was about our visit, not about time keeping, as the hour was approaching when breakfast ended. That meant a lot! My husband was so impressed that every staff member was so friendly! Brittany and Anders at the front desk are very helpful.

Very pretty flowers out front. Neat and clean hotel. Most organized Americinn we've been to. Hot coffee, nice tea variety, hot chili available for dinner, which was a nice surprise, and a nice touch! Thank you! Hot sauna, huge bonus!! Really enjoyed that. Nice attached fitness center. Also, nice touch with the brown sugar & fig Old Town Apothecary cleansing bar in the room.

As we left, the cleaning staff member was intentional to say, "Have a good day!" as we walked down the hall. She wasn't too busy to take notice and offer a kind word. Mike does a great job at managing the pool and hot tub. Had a really nice conversation with him.

Overall, it was a great experience! Thank you all for caring and for your kindness. We do hope to be back! Your attention to detail matters and...

I stayed at this hotel for a work trip last week, and it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! The rooms are unclean, and the staff is unpleasant. The room I was put in felt generally dirty, which was a bit upsetting to begin with, but I brushed it off and didn’t think it was a big deal. However, I always check the beds at hotels before I get in them, just to be on the safe side. When I pulled the covers back on the beds, I saw not one but TWO cockroaches! I called the front desk to ask for a new room, and the lady on the phone left me in almost complete silence. After she finally started speaking, she had a disrespectful attitude and was extremely lacking in customer service. She claimed she couldn’t move me to a new room, and I never got so much as an apology for the bugs in my room. I ended up sleeping in my car that night. The next morning, I went down to the front desk to ask about a new room again since I was supposed to be there another night, and was met with a rude employee once again. I was told she didn’t know if there would be another room available and that I would have to wait until her supervisor came in later (I still haven’t even been told “sorry”). I ended up cutting my work trip short due to the uncleanliness of the hotel and the poor customer service I received. Overall, I was very disappointed in my stay here and would not recommend it to anyone. If I could give zero...
