We called ahead three weeks to have a post funeral get together for my my family. Complete nightmare.
First off, we were charged extra for a 20+ person visit, even though we didn't request this (we were placed in the regular dining room, not in a banquet room).
It just gets worse! Thirteen people were awarded with one server. That server ended in mid rotation of food orders, a second server took the place of the original server. I actually went to the bar to ask for a Pepsi refill and to have my family get refills. I was told "a server will be with you once she serves the other customers".
This doesn't even get into the food. Horrible. I asked (out of curiosity from family members) how other meals were. Only two out of thirteen said they were good (coconut shrimp for both).
I asked the waitress for a ketsup bottle (keep in mind the number of guests and length of table). She said "grab the one at the other end". I ordered a double salad. That waitress told me extra dressing will cost more even though there was dressing for a quarter of my salad.
The salad itself was distgusting. Numerous pieces of rusty lettuce, inedible cucumbers (not only for my salad).
All in all, a terrible experience. Gotta wonder when a busines has bad food, bad service, then charges an up fee for their own regular dining room for a funeral...
Read moreIt was our first time in Virginia, Minnesota. We went to Adventures Restaurant for Dinner. We asked for beer. The waitress presented us with 4 beers. We told her, we would like one beer at a time. She said, it is happy hour, and we serve double the order. I told her, we would like to drink beer, not inhale it. Please hold the extra in the fridge. We immediately felt she was annoyed with us, when we explained that we have been to hundreds of happy hours, and nobody has ever dumbed a double order of alcohol. Throughout the dinner, she largely ignored us, and brought the bill while we were still eating dinner, even though we told her, may want to have dessert. When we examined the bill, we noticed that she charged us the normal rate for our drinks. My husband signaled to her that we had questions about the bill. What she did was circumventing our table. Finally when she showed up, I confronted her with her attitude, and the fact she was inhospitable. Her response, “I am busy, and my manager told me what I should do.” I explained to her as a person working in the hospitality industry, least you could do, explain how your restaurant operates in Virginia, Minnesota, and be responsive to our questions, unless this is how Minnesotans treat people who visit from...
Read moreFood was good but the service was terrible. The staff seemed disinterested and disorganized. We were seated but did not see our server for a long time. We ordered drinks and waited a long time to be served. There appeared to be 3 servers working, although one kept vacuuming the floor in our area?? When we ordered our dinners, we asked for water which did not arrive until our meals were nearly done. I needed additional dressing for my salad but could not see our server. I finally got up, waited by the bar, and finally found another server to help me. When we finished our meal, no server in-site to get our bill. We waited and waited and finally decided enough time had elapsed. We once again returned to the bar, waited, waited, waited. Finally, the bartender asked if we needed help. I can understand delays if the the restaurant was busy but it did not appear to be that busy. Judging by the amount of laughing and talking by staff in the back and the set-up areas, I think not. Virginia does not have a lot of options for dining but we won't be back for a while. McDonald's food is not the same caliber, but at least they are prompt and do...
