I was going to be in Mukilteo for four nights, and any chance I get to stay somewhere I can watch boat traffic, especially ferries, I will take it. So, I took the most expensive room they have (I'm pretty sure) so that I could make sure to have that great view. I got the view, but the windows have a grid design in them that makes that view not nearly as it would be otherwise. But really, the view was still the best thing about this hotel.

I have stayed at the Capitol Hill and Silverdale locations at least three times each, and enjoyed them. This was a completely different experience. There were just a lot of little things wrong here. A lot of little things are broken. Like, the powered blinds are nice, but only one of the controls worked. The window latches are mostly broken. The dryer didn't work on one of its settings, and was missing its attachment. The close-up mirror light didn't work. Because there is nothing to hold the drapes and no screens, they will fly out the window if you open the windows. Most things in the room are just a bit beaten up in one way or another, including the apparently-coveted jacuzzi that is in really bad shape, including a faucet that appears to be ready to fall off and spewed water places it shouldn't be going.

Other odd things were the bathroom door handle that didn't match the rest in the room, the light switch to the vanity is at the front door, and there are two lights in the bathroom but the heat lamp is required if you want the fan.

The other top complaint is about the service and the breakfast. The one employee I dealt with at the front desk just looked at me like she didn't understand why I was there (to check in or to ask a question), and she had me initial a room rate that was wrong (the final bill was correct). The service at breakfast was worse. I was there 20-30 minutes before it closed (earlier than most other hotels, btw), and everything was just about gone. In fact, the baked goods were completely empty, not a muffin or a piece of bread on them, and the employee working it was just in the back room talking with another employee the whole time I was there. Most hotels make sure those breakfasts are stocked until closing time, but not here. I stayed at a Best Western on this trip prior to this stay, and the breakfast was so much better. The options here were sad, flavorless (e.g. "pico de gallo" that was really just chopped up tomatoes and oregano for some reason), and/or stale. The breakfast room was full every morning, though not because it isn't big enough, instead it was because they have a ridiculous layout without enough tables.

Overall, it wasn't like it was the worst stay ever, but for the insane price I paid, it was one of the most disappointing. I will go back to other locations, but I won't stay at...

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. Every staff member I interacted with was very friendly and kind. The entire hotel is clean, fresh smelling, and inviting. The parking was included in the price (super rare!) and the actual parking area is well lit with cameras clearly visible along the ceiling.

I stayed for the weekend in one of the king suites - not one of the jacuzzi ones though. Everything was cleaned thoroughly - no random stains, suspicious substances or mystery odors anywhere! The two TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the main room) were larger than almost anywhere else I've stayed and they even had an HDMI plug readily accessible so I didn't have to try to figure out how to plug my stuff into the back of a wall mounted TV. I didn't end up using them much because the view is way better than any TV show.

The best part is absolutely that incredible view! There are double doors that open and there is a large window so it's possible to look out at the water unobstructed from almost anywhere in the room. There are sheer screen like curtains that can go over the opened doorway and these seemed to prevent all but a single tiny moth from flying in despite having the doors wide open for the majority of my stay. I randomly looked up from some work I was doing because I saw movement and it was an orca! This happened a good half dozen times during my stay. There were quite a few different animals to watch - I enjoyed seeing an otter pop out as if to say hi to people walking by a few times and there were a lot of different birds and even some fish jumping out of the water. The ferries were so quiet I barely noticed them even with the doors open.

There is always room for improvement and there are a couple of things that I noticed.

The wifi is indeed technically available but I found that it was so slow and spotty that I could not do my work from the hotel room using it. Luckily the cell signal is plenty strong there so a quick tether fixed that issue. I saw a cat-5 port on the wall but didn't have a cable. I will update this after I try it next time I stay.

The bed - specifically the pillows - bleh. Three of the four pillows provided if they were somehow combined might add up to one regular pillow. Trying to use these as a side sleeper was next to impossible - they are so flat and small! Definitely the worst pillows I've used that weren't gross or something. These were perfectly clean they just these were so under-filled that once I put my head down what stuffing was there would shift leaving me with nearly flat surface. 10/10 bringing your own pillow if you can!

Overall my visit was so enjoyable that I already booked...

Awesome views of the ocean for those on the ocean side. Otherwise it's still a nice view of the town. Exceptionally clean and well maintained and the rooms are very well appointed. Parking stalls are a bit small but that is the only drawback I believe. Ivar's fish and chips is right next door as well as indoor dining at that establishment. There is a really good brewery across the street with good food and ale. The breakfast at Silver Cloud is incredible. Scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, quiche, Danish pastries, coffee toast, bagels, waffles, yogurt, fruit and the list goes on. It is well maintained by the facility as they are often inspecting and temperature checking the foods. Really is an awesome place to stay. I got to put this in there which is when we went up to Safeway. I was waiting in the vehicle, and this beautiful woman went by and into Safeway. The reason I noticed is because of who I believe it was. When she came out, I excused myself and asked if he was the actress in the Queen of the South? Which is Alice Braga. I did not have internet access at the time so I could not check her name. I fumbled quite a bit, and said that she looked exactly like her and in fact the more that I thought about it I'm sure it was her. She said it wasn't but was very polite and intrigued by the fact that I thought that it was her. I said it's not uncommon for somebody like them, to live in Seattle or Everitt area or to visit someone to which she replied. That is true. I mean Scotty from Star Trek lived in Redmond, Washington. If it was her, just unbelievable. Polite, beautiful, friendly. I only wish I had expressed how much I enjoyed her show the Queen of the South, but I didn't want to be an annoyance, or ask for a picture . Wow!!!

Beautiful place. I booked a jacuzzi suit with the expectation of a corner window with nothing but ocean views where I could soak privately, yet with the windows open... not so much. The first room they put us in (for over 500 bucks) had a fishing pier loaded with people fishing and a busy sidewalk right outside our "romantic" jacuzzi tub view. I would have given a few less stars had they not moved us to another room promptly upon my complaint. But it was even more frustrating to me that the other room was being left available while they were attempting to stick us with the fishing pier. 🤨 Slightly offended. Either way, we had a lovely night. The tub was a great place to relax and listen to the waves crash while admiring my wife's beauty on our anniversary. With the windows cracked at night, we slept like babies to the sound of high tide waves smashing the boardwalk and the smell of sea spray with a fresh cool breeze off the Puget Sound circulating the air in our room. In the morning we felt comfy and lazy as we got up reluctantly for the complimentary breakfast. It was decent. Nothing special really... just another hotel breakfast. Not many options and slightly underwhelming. I had a Cranberry juice and some bacon and a muffin. It was all cold. But it was free. Parking however... is absurd (see photos). Bring your smallest car ... my smaller size truck (tacoma) sustained minor door damage. 😠
