I used to live in Everett and Red cup was my GO TO place for coffee. I would pass nearly a dozen other coffee spots in the process. Marianne ALWAYS shared a smile and short conversation. After moving away, I literally went back to visit with visiting Red cup in mind. I bragged on this place more than one should.

Today, I made a pit stop there on my way to North Bend. I encountered Mariane and reminded her of who I am and my previous visits. Her voice is profound and noticeable... And very rarely does it not echo in the building. As such immediately after speaking to her, she say with her back to me and being whispering to the gentleman in front of her. I could see the back of her head moving as she whispered. The gentleman made eye contact with me during this time. Indicating the conversation was about me.

I'm normally the last person to presume another person is biased or racist. Your actions would have to be extremely telling for me to come to that conclusion. Needless to say, it was a very very uncomfortable and disheartening position. I have been a loyal customer since before the pandemic. In my 37 visits I don't think I've ever witnessed another person of color in this establishment.... Maybe they knew something I didn't.

My business with Red...

This place is cute and convenient.

The problem is I can't support any coffee shop that charges $3.00 for a 12oz double shot Americano, but $3.60 for a 16oz double Americano. 4oz of hot water and a slightly bigger paper cup is maybe a $0.01 difference in cost of goods + labor.

Perhaps it's petty, but it's also illogical, unethical, and unnecessary. Price gouging is price gouging. Without thinking, the cashier tried to explain/justify it by saying there's more water. As soon as she said it she realized the weakness of that argument and she added that it comes in a bigger cup... before landing on, 'I didn't set the price', which was finally the fair answer.

I only said something so she would relay the valid concern to her higher-ups. But she didn't seem to want to take on my battle, which is also fair. So I'm commenting to let the management know, it's a flaw that will keep me from returning to the shop. It's a principle with me, kind of like always stopping to buy lemonade if a kid shows the initiative to set up a stand.

Again, it's such a cute and comfortable place that it's a small shame you feel the need to squeeze $0.60 out of the grande...

Red Cup Cafe is a hidden gem in Old Town Mukilteo that should not be missed. The cafe has a simple yet cozy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a delicious breakfast or brunch. The menu offers a variety of mouth-watering options that are sure to satisfy any cravings, from classic breakfast items like croissants and omelets to more unique dishes like breakfast bagels and desserts

However, the best part of the Red Cup Cafe experience is the picturesque view of boats and birds in the morning. This cafe is pet-friendly and has plenty of outdoor seating where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the stunning scenery. If you prefer to sit inside, there is limited indoor seating, including a large center communal table where you can share stories and chat with the locals.

The food at Red Cup Cafe is good, but it is the relaxing ambiance and excellent service that really sets this place apart. Whether you are looking for a quick coffee or a leisurely breakfast with friends and family, Red Cup Cafe is the perfect spot. It's no wonder why it's a local favorite. So, if you are ever in the area, make sure to stop by this charming little cafe and experience it...

Ordered coffee and a breakfast bagel to go. While the service was friendly, I was disappointed to find half of the bagel burnt. The smell of burnt bread hit me as soon as I opened the box. It’s frustrating that such a clearly overcooked item was served, especially when it could have easily been remade. Seriously, the lack of quality control is astounding. If you’re comfortable serving a paying customer food that’s so obviously burnt, I’m concerned about what might be happening in the kitchen in terms of safety, sanitation, and overall quality control. It’s unbelievable. I was only able to eat half my bagel even though I paid for a full one. By the way, there are much tastier bagels elsewhere. Save your money and make your own or go someplace else. This is not okay.

Red Cup cafe offers a great peek-a-boo into the Puget Sound amidst a rather nicely-kept garden. Inside you'll find a homely atmosphere that has a great juxtaposition to the coffee and breakfast foods menu offered there-- of which, all items have been delicious thus far! I make a point to bring friends here when they visit from out of town, as it's a treat. And if you come during the winter, bring some cold weather wear as it might be packed inside!
