a family member & i booked two hotel rooms over Halloween weekend. we were celebrating a wedding & hoped to have a quiet place to land for a couple of nights. unfortunately i did not book this myself, so i was unable to check reviews. if i would have been made aware of the location, based on reviews i would not have booked here.
the parking lot was pretty empty for a friday night (you also pay extra to park). immediately upon entering the hotel i noticed how outdated it was, but i was willing to give it a chance. i do not consider myself high maintenance, but when i entered my hotel room i immediately noticed many things of concern. there was a strange smell & a layer of dust over everything. a lightbulb hung naked on the wall missing its sconce. the mirrors looked like they had been sneezed on, a lamp flickered when i turned the heater on, & the handle to the toilet fell off without me even touching it. speaking of the toilet, the under rim was black & there was a hair on the seat. there were also many touch points that had not been cleaned (doors, handles, lamp switches & side table handles). i went to the front desk to show the employee photos & asked for a new room. the man quickly got me a new key for the next room over but did not offer an apology.
the second room was marginally cleaner, however it featured several strands of hair wrapped round the shower spicket. i also had to go through several towels to find one without hair or stains. the switches on the lamp side tables were also sticky. by this point i was too exhausted to make it an issue.
roll around to about 12:55am & i hear my door starting to unlock. i had dead bolted it but the room did not have that extra door latch that most hotel rooms do. it was an employee (who i had not seen before). turns out when i was moved it was not noted in the system so this employee was unaware i was staying there. this was a huge safety concern that left me panicked. the one star can be counted towards the comfortable bed & pillows. we checked out the next morning & were able to get a full refund through the reservation site.
long story short, trust the reviews. it sounds like my experience was fairly tame compared to what some have seen. i am sure it has everything to do with management. the place needs to be condemned. i’ve included photos, view at...
Read moreI would not recommend that anyone stay here until they are able to reach a level of quality assurance that is consistent and stable. The pool was also closed, which should be clearly stated on the website, but it was an unpleasant surprise upon our arrival.
Right away in our room, we noticed yellow stains on our sheets, as well as a smoke alarm that was sitting on the counter powerless and not plugged in. The little things also made the hotel immediately feel like a red flag, such as the pillows being all over the place and not orderly, and other various colored stains around the room. My partner and I left for a little while and came back to see bugs on our bed, mostly silverfish, and we requested another room.
At the front desk, we requested this change, with no clarification of who we were or anything, and they handed us a new key with no precautions taken. In the lobby as well was a plastic bag with white power in it, and as we navigated to our new room, the smell of weed was pretty much everywhere.
This new room had no bugs, but blood stains + yellow and blue stains on the sheets, paint teared off the wall, mirror off the wall and on the floor, and still no standard of cleanliness anywhere in the room. We settled for the night and hoped that the minimal security of our room would be enough to get us through. The checkout process was handing out key back and hoping that they checked us out properly, because as we went outside the front desk person went outside too and clearly didn’t work on the checkout process.
This by far is the worst hotel I have stayed in, and I wish I could take it back to have stayed somewhere else. The price we paid also was extremely unfair for what our experience was, and is now much lower than what we paid. I would hope that the staff works harder to ensure quality and any sort of standard, because clearly there was none, or atleast to do more than to just respond to reviews and not change anything, because clearly everyone is having similar experiences of...
Read moreHad problems with the check in procedures. When we got here they could not find reservation, then discovered someone else was checked into our room. I was shown the photo ID and copy of credit card for this gentleman (Michael, I am leaving out his last name in this post). I saw him in the hallway, and now know he is 4 rooms down the hall. I now know this guy's name, where he is staying, and some of his financial information. I was not asked to show my identification when I checked in, but they pulled out and showed me all of this Michael guys info (I have no relations and have never met this gust). They still haven't asked me to show photo ID to prove that I am the one that is suppose to be in this room. I voiced concerns to the person who said they were the manager. Her response was that the woman that checked me is was no longer employees. I pointed out that a guy was the one who checked me in, but she repeated the same thing. When I go to my room that evening, the people who checked me in were still working at the desk. I am not looking to get anyone in trouble, I am looking for this property to do additional training for their staff and the dangers of not checking ID. Also, personal account information should NEVER be shown to someone. The fact that they made a photo copy of this guy's credit card in itself is very concerning. If they share this kind of info to me, someone who was never asked for photo ID, how do you think they are handling everyone's personal payment information. All I see are safety issues and data breaches at this property, and that scares the hell out of me, especially when you factor in that managment lied about resolving the situation. I even said that I didn't want anyone fired, just wanted to make sure proper training is done, the manager said they were fired. But like I said, the manager lied about that. Also, photo ID was not asked for to get keys made for three room. How...
