I lived at this apartment complex for four years. In those four years I've seen it change names, and owners, three times and, if I recall correctly, go through four different management teams. For the most part the place is fine, it's cheap and has a bus to take you to campus. But, that's pretty much where the good ends. The pool, if it's open, will most likely open halfway into the summer. The front office staff is hit or miss, some are nice and really helpful, others are like talking to a brick wall with anger issues that only wants you to go away because it wants to do what it wants to do and not actually assist the resident. Heaven forbid you put in a maintenance request. Had a kitchen draw break once and it took 4 months to see that drawer again...and it was still broke. I could have fixed it myself in an hour. Your washer break and is completely unusable? Good luck with that, you MIGHT get it fixed a month after you put the work order in, only to have it break a second time and take another two weeks to repair. That of course is after being told they intend to replace it entirely, which never happened. So, I hope you like paying for laundromats. When it comes to actually doing anything worthwhile for the residents, like repairs or facility upgrades, don't hold your breath. But, you best believe they'll have donuts and raffles and all kinds of other frivolous garbage to give out at random throughout the week. Plenty of money for that, just can't pay their vendors in order to keep up with maintenance requests or facility improvements. Oh, and they will absolutely force you to move to a different unit when it meets their needs and only their needs. Nothing you can do about it either. But, if you want to move to a new unit for your own personal reason? You have to pay for that, you know, cause paperwork probably.
Long story short, the only reason to live here is the cheap rent and the shuttle to campus. Though, they have been raising that year after year as well. There are better and more affordable places around at this point. As far as the shuttle, it's great and I have no real complaint about that. It does go down at random so there's a small risk you might get stuck on campus, but there's a MITS route you can take. The shuttle drivers are also amazing and easily the only staff worth anything at this place.
As far as reasons not to live here? Most of the staff is awful, either they don't know what they're talking about or they simply don't want to talk to you. If you have a legitimate issue, good luck. They want you to walk in and pick up your package and get out, or pay them. Got a maintenance request beyond fixing something small that actually takes some amount of effort? You'll be waiting awhile. Either they don't want to deal with it or they can't get the material to do so since they have a record of not paying their vendors off. Hence being sold to someone new almost yearly.
0/5 stars, would not do again, can't wait to hear about when you...
Read moreI would not reccomend living here. I lived there during the 2022-23 academic year and it was rough to say the least. To start off, my room was definitely not cleaned when I moved in. There was hair from the last attendant everywhere, there were poptart crumbs all over the mattress, carpet not cleaned, paint everywhere, dust on the fan and walls. When it started to get cold, we tried turning up the heat but it never did anything. Turns out they never hooked up our heat so the apartment below us was our one heat source. Birds were living in our patio roof and in my ceiling for weeks before they came out to fix it. Maintenance never followed the rules when it came to entry. They came in when we asked them not to, and when they tried to fix something one of them made the problem worse and they had to come back. Maintenance also installed fire protection in our apartment without notice(entry, installation, product, exit). I had to call to ask what was installed and the desk person was no help. The staff at the front desk are no help except posting to the instagram. Management tells us about apartment checks a few days in advance, but give us a 5 hour window so if you have a pet that needs to be put away you’d have to skip class. The staff at the desk are no help when you call, and end up leaving you more frustrated and confused than you were before you called. And even though you have a mailbox, half of your mail still ends up in the clubhouse. I am from out of state, so I had my license and new debit card mailed to me. I had to order both of them multiple times because I thought they never got delivered, but it turns out they were in the clubhouse the whole time. This was over the course of three months. I have not lived there for over a year, filled out a change of address form and they STILL don’t notify me when I have mail there. I didn’t have a W-2 for weeks until I asked my old roommates to check the clubhouse. When I asked to resign my lease, they said I would receive documents and be able to move forward. I never got those documents and my roommates did. When I finally realized, it was March and past the resign date. I called the office multiple times and got conflicting answers on whether or not I had resigned. Keith was thankfully able to help me with that, contacting corporate and not finding any resign documents. All in all, I would not live here again. With everything going on in that place, it’s not worth your...
Read moreI lived here for one year and didn’t have a good experience. They get you with the demo apartment. They make it look so much nicer than what you actually will receive. When we submitted our application to get the apartment it took them over a month to review. And on top of that they lost 2 of my roommates applications, requiring them to resubmit an application and being charged more in rent. The people at the front desk were not helpful in this matter. When moving in my apartment had so much rust everywhere. There was a hole in the balcony. Holes in my closest that had wires coming out. The black dots your see on the walls and the area that look like there’s paint drops, yea those are bugs. The fire alarm went off everytime we opened the oven. The complex reeked of weed and cigarettes. They have some get together at the club house, however anytime I’d attend nobody would be there and I’d be glared at. So it didn’t feel welcoming. The bus is an amazing idea, when it works. The amount of times I had to drive back off campus to the apartment to pick someone up because the bus stopped working was insane. I would get packages that were too big for the lockers and they wouldn’t let me know when it arrived at the office. They actually told me once my package wasn’t there when tracking said it was and it took them 2 days to find where they put it. Mind you it was an expensive item. I also had a maintenance request put in because when we moved in the garbage disposal didn’t work. Maintenance didn’t fix it properly so next time we washed the dishes the whole cabinet under the sink started to flood with water because they didn’t tighten it enough. I had to go out and get supplies to fix it. The WiFi would go out so many times and a lot of my major requires internet connections. They also changed the system in order to look at your paperwork and pay rent while I lived here and the new system is terrible. The amount of times I was unable to log in is crazy. no I didn’t forget my password, the system just wouldn’t let me log in. And when I had issues and I would text the office asking for help I would receive no response or a few responses and then be ghosted. I’m paying the same amount of rent right now in a house by the village as I was at the apartment and the house is 100x cleaner. The one positive I had was when I moved in I won a $100 visa gift card. And my roommate won a 50” tv. So that was amazing, but not good enough...
