Extended Stay America Select Suites - Chicago - Naperville - East:|Positive Aspects:|Location:|The hotel's proximity to downtown Naperville and various attractions is a major plus. |Staff:|Many guests have highlighted the helpful and friendly nature of the staff, particularly those working the late-night shift. Blanca, the manager and other lady in the front office on July 4th 2025 was very nice and kind.|Rooms:|The rooms, especially the queen studios with kitchenettes, are considered spacious and clean, offering a good value for the price. |Convenience:|The full kitchens in the rooms, along with amenities like free Wi-Fi, are convenient for extended stays. |My stay:|Location:|Extended Stay America Select Suites Chicago - Naperville - East, 1827 Centre Point Cir., Naperville, IL 60563 |I came from St. Louis to Chicago for July 4th weekend with my family. Upon arriving met with Blanca who is very sweet and nice and did everything for us to board the stay. But the keys wouldn't working for us open and get it, we asked for help and she was able to help us right away. I humbly asked since the door was not working upon arriving would we be staying free, she humbly said she cannot let us stay free but can check with her manager for discount showing her kindness to take care of customers coming from a distance to stay at their place.|We came into the room, everything was up to our expectation as we have been staying at ESA for many years now. I prefer ESA because, the rooms are made for family like us who has some specific food preferences and need to cook our food fresh and eat. Also ESA mostly provides a good suite rooms which is pretty comfortable for my family. Also their locations are near highway and we mostly go for vacation by car which suits the best for us.|After we came into the room, we realized that rooms were missing some essential stuff that will make our stay very uncomfortable. One of which, we don't get the right amount of temperature |in the water used for shower rather it is either TOO HOT or TOO COLD. So I had to take shower in real cold water which I was able to because it is a hot summer and I have been going back and forth|between COLD and HOT water using in non functioning water outlet knob. You know it is a PAIN! Also, there is no towel handle where you can hang wet towel after taking shower.|I decided to report and went to front office, reported these important issues and the lady in the front office was nice enough to take my complaints and said she will try to take care of the bath water situation right away but after 24 hours it was still NOT taken care where my stay is for 3 nights and 4 days, I am out of the option of taking a peaceful BATH so I decided to write this review|so that they get an opportunity to fix the issue right away while I am still there or at least for other families who will be coming to stay in future.|I am planning to talk to the manager again this morning and will try to...
Read moreThis location in Naperville I am staying at is filthy and the staff spend the majority of their time playing on their cell phones or hiding in unoccupied rooms.
The hallways are filthy and regularly filled with garbage. There is dog feces everywhere outside the building along with an immense amount of garbage. Letting guests handle the garbage management and not use closed bags has led to trash blowing everywhere outside. The staff do not ever walk around outside and pick up garbage. Which creates a safety issue for children and pets.
The energy efficiency upgrades done to the room were done incorrect and now the functionality of faucets has been negatively affected. I was in charge of these types of upgrades at hotels in the NIcor territory.
This location was built for business which are no longer here. Lucent, Tellabs, ATT. Now, it seems to be used for its proximity to the courthouse and the Naperville welfare office. I have found it very difficult to get work done due to noise created by staff slamming doors of the laundry room 24/7. And screaming kids. Seems more like a low income apartment than a hotel for adults on any kind of legitimate business.
The hallways of multiple floors smell like mildew and don't seem to get vacuumed. I was charged a $200 a week pet fee when in the months I have already been here, nobody has maintained the pet station with poop bags or emptied the garbage. I also clean my own room because the cleaning person never came in and did it during the last month stint I stayed.
Because garbage is not picked up outside and uneducated people from the desert are cutting the grass. There are blown up cans everywhere leaving shrapnel anywhere a dog would be outside on the property.
When I asked the lady at the front desk about addressing these constant issues, she responded, "not my job" and "then why do you stay here?" I just returned from New Mexico after staying here a month and had no wish to stay with you again. I can assure, I will never stay at one of your locations again.
In my lifetime, I have stayed at this location for a length of time which exceeds a full year. I grew up two miles from...
Read moreReservation was messed up from the time we tried to check in. Room wasn't available for what I booked. The assistant manager Teresa "found" 1 that wasn't clean. We had to wait for them to do that, only to he told the TV didn't work 30 minutes later. She then offered to "upgrade" our 2 queen suite to 1 king w/ let out sofa. Me recovering from rotator cuff shoulder surgery still was an inconvenience as i was told they dont make those beds, i had to myself. We get to the room and my friend said the tub was dirty with hair. The employee that checked us in at the desk huffed when we brought it her attention. After returning from our concert to watch TV that one didn't work either (photos included). Nor were there dishes of ANY KIND in our kitchen (photos included). No phone in the room either to voice our concerns (photo included). I had to use my cellphone every time to reach them. The 2nd shift employee tried to tell us we had to ask for dishes due to high theft on these items and that every room came with a phone (except ours, no wher to be found). She offered to move us to another room at 1130pm. I guess they "found" more since we checked in. We were not told about dishes or breakfast the next morning that we missed we i called yet again from my cellphone to ask about coffee. They definitely made sure to give dish liquid to wash the dishes with as well as made sure we knew check out was promptly at 11am since they wrote it on our key card envelope! Upon trying to take a shower the next morning, saw for myself a chunk missing out of the tub floor(photos included). HUGE safety issue. When bringing ALL of this to the attention of the assistant manager Teresa, she basically got an attitude and blamed the employee for not telling us everything as she was right at the desk when we checked in, said there was a repair ticket put in for the tub and didn't offer any apologies but told me to leave a review and corporate would see it since the manager was our until next week. I had to ask for my receipt that I was charged full price on and the number to call about our treatment. $112 later, I definitely don't...
