I have been craving for some tteok-bokki spicy rice cake with ramen but there isn't really one near my house so hubby and I decided to drive to Naperville for some and this little place was awesome!
They have bibimbap and chicken but nooooooo that's NOT what I was craving. I HAD to order what I came here for. Otherwise, I'm gonna be mad that I ordered something else when my heart was set on tteok-bokki rice cake with ramen. The rice cake was chewy and ramen was so good with their spicy and sweet sauce!!! The egg was delicious and the fish cake was perfect. My belly and heart was sooooo happy!
We also tried the Korean corn dog with sausage and cheese. My hubby is lactose but what's a little cleansing won't hurt you lol I got it with ketchup and spicy mayo and as you can see the very unflattering picture of me......it's NOT about me. It was about the corn dog and the cheeeeessseeeeee. Sooo crunchy! So good!
We also ordered mandu (fried dumplings)....it's good but mandu is mandu. Could have skipped that. The kimchi fries was good but it wasn't my preference.
Next time I will go back for the tteok-bokki with ramen again, corn dog again, I'll try their chicken and their bibimbap. This little place totally won my heart. Thank you for the deliciousness. I was happy and...
Read more한글리뷰는 아래참조 Fried chicken is bomb. It's way better and more authentic than bonchon. I'd come back for these alone (got the garlic soy). However, the service was slow. We got the chicken a half hour after ordering which is okay if you have time but I wouldn't come here for a 'quick' lunch. Also, after the chicken came out we were then asked what toppings we wanted for our bibimbab, then that took another 5 minutes. Don't get the stone pot like we did. It looks cute but doesn't stay warm long, nor does it get hot enough to caramelize your rice like a normal dolsot would. The bibimbab was too sweet. The cucumbers were marinated in sugar, and they added additional sugar to the gochujang sauce. I wouldn't call this authentic but if you're not picky with how your Korean food is, give it a try. Otherwise, get a different rice dish. All in all, I will def come back for the fried chicken.
Read moreI have never in my 22 years of living gone out of my way to leave a review for a restaurant, no matter how good it is, but Kogii Kogii deserves all the love in the world dude. My girlfriend and I treat this spot as a little treat at least once a month, and it has never disappointed. On our last visit, we ordered from their kiosk station (super convenient and helpful btw) and sat down to wait for our food. While we were waiting, we started talking about how we’d never tried a “Korean Corndog” and how it seemed pretty intriguing, and we agreed we should try it on one of our next trips in. We received our food in a timely matter, and it was all delicious as usual, but shortly after receiving our order, one of the cooks from the back walked over to our table and offered us a fresh Korean Corndog for free, simply because he had heard us discussing our interest in it, and figured we’d like to try one!!! Never have I experienced such a sweet and thoughtful experience from a restaurant in my life, and it made us love the restaurant even more. Amazing food, amazing service, and genuinely caring about individuals working. Can’t recommend this...
