Holiday Inn Express Naperville, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in Naperville

If this location was the only option, I would still think twice about staying here.

The room was so dirty that I stopped inspecting it. Simply disgusting. It was as if no one cleaned after the last guest(s). They just replaced the sheets (maybe) and the towels.

The IHG clean guarantee did nothing for me. If it does not help to accommodate me while I am a guest, then what is the point of it?

The tops of everything was caked with dust.

Pull out mattress only had a padded cover, and it was urine stained. No blankets or extra sheets in the room.

The main bed had various hairs and crumbs falling out when I untucked the blanket.

Toilet tissue was covered with hair and some kind of dusty stuff. Dirty, bare footprint on the bathroom floor. More hair in shower.

I hunged my jacket on a hook before I noticed the walls. They were so dirty they looked two toned. Wall dirt transferred to my jacket.

Went to turn on the TV, the remote was nasty. The mini fridge door handle was sticky. Iron had something lumpy and burnt on it.

Staff was a bit rude. Said I was at fault for waiting so long to report it.

Yes, it was a few hours later that I complained. I mentioned that all we did was drop off bags, my son needed the restroom, and then we left. Went to eat and visit family.

All I wanted was for the room to actually be cleaned. I showed them videos and pictures. They were unwilling to do anything to satisfy the situation.

The hotel is across from a university. Maybe they get so many guests that it is difficult to keep things clean. Maybe they are understaffed.

But the way I was treated felt like I was to blame for the room being yucky.

I keep blankets in the car. Used those to sleep with. Skipped breakfast and checked out early.

I do not recommend staying at...

The hotel itself is very nice. The location is great, there are lots of restaurants near by which was helpful. The room I had was pretty nice, however the only down side was the Heat / AC did not work well.

My heat did not work at all, no matter the temperature I set it would not blow any warm or hot air. The AC worked, at first.

I informed staff to take a look as the evening got a little cold. They had a tech look the next day and the heat did not work still, not only did the heat not work after that but they adjusted the AC so the AC AND Heat did not work after. That made the remaining nights stays difficult and uncomfortable - not acceptable for any guest. I don't understand why did couldn't offer me to stay in another room, even if the room was a downgrade. That was very disappointing. I am staying here again as I previously booked in advance - if the HVAC and AC don't work this time around I am going to ask for another room and If not, a refund as it is VERY hot and humid outside, we need working AC in the room.

The other part I did not like, is house keeping went into my room even with the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. This was really disappointing as some of my things were moved around (I understand you need to clean) however, the DND sign was up on my door even after I arrived back to my room. I did not like this as I left several medication out and that makes me very uncomfortable that there was someone in my room with all of my medication out on the table.

Aside from the HVAC and house keeping going into my room WITH the DND sign on... my stay was ok. I am really hoping my stay next week is much better than this because I already pre...

Me and my husband have been to this property quite a few times, with no issues but this time was very much different. The AC in the room did not work very well so at night it was extremely hot in the room and you were unable to sleep due to constantly sweating and then on top of it we were getting ready for my husband's birthday celebration and we get a knock on the door It was from an employee and he demanded to be let in the room I was not dressed at the time so I asked them to give me a moment I put on an outfit and then we open the door, The employee stated that they smelled marijuana being smoked in our room and I told him absolutely not! No one hasn't smoked in this room and on top of that it is a non-smoking facility so we are well aware that you cannot smoke anything inside of the facility. My husband smokes black and milds but he does not smoke in the room nor our vehicle because I do not smoke so he smokes outside well apparently the employee told us that he cannot even bring his Black and mildes into the room because it makes it smell like smoke and that it also lingers on your clothes so there is absolutely no smoking and again we express to him that if we were smoking you would be able to see smoke clouds in that room and again I do not smoke so my husband would not be smoking anywhere in the room then he proceeds to tell us that he's going to take pictures which is perfectly fine because my husband's black and mild box was sitting on the table but I felt very disrespected and to be honest we will not be back to that hotel and honestly I wouldn't recommend anyone staying at this hotel because of how disrespectful this employee was to me...
