LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The location was TOP NOTCH!!! That was the absolute best thing about staying here. The views were absolutely gorgeous, and the proximity to Pensacola, Fort Walton and Destin was super convenient, only about a half hour in each direction. We did activities in each city every day and it was nice that it wasn't a long drive back to the hotel. It's also superbly convenient to the bridge to go across the Sound to Navarre Beach and pier. We spent some time there as well. There are lots of great restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner in all price ranges, and sno-cone & ice cream spots REALLY close to the hotel.||The staff was really friendly! I didn't catch anybody's name, but they were all really nice!||We stayed in waterfront room 105 for 5 nights, so it was a super easy few steps to go out and sit in the great adirondack chairs outside our door right by the waterfront. We really enjoyed sitting out there and watching the sunrises AND sunsets (I was excited we could see both!), and watching the funny fish that kept jumping out in the water. I had a front row seat to a big Heron catching his breakfast just a few feet away one morning! There were cute little lizards running around. We were always able to find parking close to the room. I'm not sure we would have loved it as much if we had stayed up on the other floors. Seems like it would have been a much further walk, and we noticed a few people standing by the railing upstairs smoking outside their rooms and could occasionally smell their smoke down below. I wasn't expecting the burs in the grass, but was really surprised that they were all in the sand as well - our flip flops were totally covered in them walking over to the beach behind Deweys. We learned really quick to keep our shoes on, which wasn't a big deal, just a good thing to be aware of. We ended up not going swimming in the water bc we were worried about stepping on all the burs barefoot. But there were lots of kids playing down in the water and on the water obstacle course next door, so it might have been fine in the water.||The pool was PERFECT. Nice and clean, perfectly heated temperature was like a nice warm bath, great size. There were lots of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. I loved the music, lots of Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney, it was the perfect enhancement to a beach vacation. All the colorful lights at night, and the fire pits made the ambiance extra special.||My biggest complaint would be the comfort of the beds. We had a room with 2 queens, and the one I slept on felt like it was tilted almost, or maybe just had a pretty bad sunken in spot on the left half? It WRECKED my back every single night to the point that I had to go to the CVS up the street to buy pain reliever. I considered maybe going to buy a pillowtop mattress cover at Walmart down the street, but didn’t really have the extra money. Full disclosure though, I'm 51 with low back problems, so it doesn't take much for this to happen! My 10 year old daughter didn't have any complaints about the beds. I'm sure they're probably just fine for most folks!||The rest of the room was great though! Everything worked. Good Wifi, was able to do a zoom call in the room with no issues. Good sized mini fridge. Nice big TV with DirectTV, I was able sign into my Netflix and Prime accounts with my phone (I wasn’t able to sign into Youtube for some reason though). I was very pleased that the AC wasn’t obnoxiously loud like you run into at some hotels, and there's an option to run the fan constantly, which was great for me bc I have to sleep with a fan for low-level noise at home. The room and the whole property was all clean. The towels were good. The pillows were good. The blackout curtains REALLY work, so I would suggest NOT to close them all the way if you want to wake up before noon lol! There were some very minor rusty/mildew spots in some areas, but that’s pretty typical of a hotel room right off the ocean, so it didn’t bother me at all. Aside from the beds, the room was well worth the price we paid in my opinion!||My only other complaint was I wasn't thrilled with the complimentary breakfast. We planned to eat breakfast at the hotel every morning to save money on eating out, but ended up going across the street to WinnDixie and just bought cereal and milk and muffins to keep in the room for breakfast. There was quite a bit to choose from selection-wise, but the quality of the food just wasn't great in my opinion. There's a great bakery (Navarre Bakery) nearby, but get there early, they sell out of all the best stuff quick!||The overall experience was great though! I would ABSOLUTELY stay at this...
Read moreAfter a 16 hour drive, arrived at 1am. Got to our room, 330, which had bugs that scurried from the door into the room when we opened the door. Found more bugs on the tv stand that didn’t have a chance to scurry away fast enough. No idea what these tiny bugs were but they resembled a large flea or tiny cockroach. The room felt musty and the carpet had food crumbs everywhere, obvious it had not been vacuumed. We were not comfortable staying in that room so we worked with the lady at the front desk. She said she had a room for the night but did not have any other room for the other 3 nights of our reservation. We took the replacement room for the night, which was Much better and what you’d expect of a hotel room. We stayed up another 1.5 hours searching for another nearby hotel with availability for the rest of our getaway, which was not easy at all early morning hours of July 4. Luckily, we found another decent looking hotel to book a half hour from the beach. During that time, the front desk lady called from room 330 and argued for 5-10 minutes with me that she sees no bugs and nothing at all on the carpet. Said the state of that room is exactly what she would expect. I told her if that is what is acceptable for them, i definitely do not want to stay here. Fast forward to the morning after we woke up. There was already two charges on my boyfriend’s debit card, one for the entire trip that will possibly take 5 days to reverse. One for the full amount for last night. They said there is nothing that can be done about the $1000+ charge that will take days to get back, and there is nothing that justifies getting the first night’s charge removed. The manager told us repeatedly that they...
Read moreStayed here this past week, the room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The location was great. Everything went fine, we checked out and was about 3 hours down the road back to home when we got a call saying we forgot some clothes hanging up and housekeeping had brought them to the front desk. Once she told me that I knew we exactly what we had left, 3 mens shirts and a dress, all brand new with tags. Luckily my father in law was in FWB visiting and was able to go down there and pick it up. My FIL called and said he got the clothes picked up. One mens shirt and one dress. I knew that was not right, there are two mens shirts unaccounted for. We got home late and I double checked my our bags and those shirts are still MIA. I called the office this morning and was very nice about it and was immediately told they have good people that work there and they would not take anything. So I guess my husband and I just imagined that we bought and brought those other 2 shirts with us. 🙄. She said she would check and call me back. She called back within minutes and said no that there were only two items in there. Whatever. I know ultimately it is our fault that we didn't triple check as we were leaving, but I didn't expect to deal with dishonest people either. If you are going to turn in and return my stuff, please return it all and not just what you want. The housekeeping wasn't the greatest while we were there, and when I got an email with an option to tip them I am glad I didn't since they got away with 50.00 worth of brand new shirts. I won't go back. I do not...
