I spent a night at the Best Western Spring Lodge in Neosho while I was attending a conference last weekend. What a delightful time! The Big Spring Lodge is not a high-end luxury hotel, but for a mid-range hotel I felt extremely pampered. Cypriana handled my reservation, and took every effort to ensure I received the best room at the best rate possible for my stay. Julio at the front desk checked me in, and was truly welcoming as he explained all the necessary details of the hotel (how to access my room, how to link to the free wi-fi, breakfast room hours, etc.). My room was perfectly situated on the second floor--on the side opposite the highway, it overlooked the pool, and was away from the elevator and ice machine. The only noise I heard during my stay was from the folks using the pool, and since it closed at 10 pm that was not a problem. My room was quite large and well-furnished. In addition to the king-sized bed, I had an armchair with ottoman (very comfortable!), a work desk with ample plug-ins for devices, the bureau/entertainment center with plenty of drawer space, the TV, microwave, and refrigerator. (The refrigerator worked quite well, which I appreciated, as I was traveling with food for the conference in the morning.) I was able to access the free wi-fi without difficulty and it had good speed. I really liked the layout of the bathroom, with the toilet and shower in a separate room from the sink/vanity. There was ample counter space at the vanity, and plenty of places to hang towels. The coffeemaker area was well-stocked with teas, coffees, and such, and the individual soaps and toiletry items were appreciated. The shower pressure was excellent, and the thermostat for the A/C was easy to understand and operate. Everything was quite clean and smelled fresh. The breakfast area was stocked with all the usual offerings of hot items, waffle maker, cereals and breads, milk, juices, coffee and tea. It was good to have a hot and tasty breakfast to start my day! And the staff member overseeing the area ensured that all items were constantly available and the area was kept clean. I looked in on the fitness room, and it had several options for aerobic exercise as well as a weight machine. I appreciated the distilled water dispenser and filled my water bottle several times. I swam in the pool, and it was the perfect temperature and extremely refreshing! I did find my mattress to be quite soft, which is not my preference, but it was not uncomfortable. Also, some of the towels seemed to be getting a bit thin, but there were several to choose from. The hotel is in a good location, just off Hwy 60, and the property is well-lit and cared for. Aside from the road running behind the hotel, it's not a walkable area, but I felt safe. A car would definitely be necessary here. I only wish I'd had more time to spend at Big Spring Lodge! It will definitely be my choice on my next visit to Neosho or the nearby area! Thank you for a lovely visit!

You can tell the room used to be very nice, but proper maintenance has not been done to upkeep the building. Messy chalk around the shower head was glaring, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, a tub that took three hours to drain, and finally the bugs. We bought some blueberry muffins for break fast the night before and woke to find the table they sat on, their containers and inside the containers the for covered in ants. There was a trail of ants from the table along the wall to the underneath of the airconditioner unit. We also had spiders on the bed in the middle of the night that we had to kill. We had a very unpleasant night as well due to the noise of people or children running and slamming doors above us until three or four in the morning. Upon finding the ants, we packed up and left quickly. When telling the desk clerk about the ants, he picked up a walkie and said to check room 201 for ants and spray...that told me it was no surprise. *The establishment's response on Expedia was as follows, "I am sorry about that. IF you had called the front desk we could have taken care of the loud noises. Also, yes we have had an issue with ants and we have Terminix come out every 2 weeks. With the little bit of rain we got it has brought them." This is not alright. I know from experience that if a service such as Terminex is spraying semi-weekly, the ants are gone shortly after treatment begins. Also, as seen in one of the below photos, there is an ant trap in the window, Terminex does not use those, they are store bought. No one should pay $125 for a night in a room infested with ants and spiders.

Book through priceline ( worse mistake ) and I bought the one business king room for one night. When I arrived, the front desk worker said I would get my receipt when I check out the next morning. When I got in my room #115 it wasn't what was pictured. They put me in a king with spa tub room. Not what I paid for. I shown the front desk person the screen shot of what I paid for on priceline. The front desk worker said it's priceline fault why I didn't get the king Business room. When I check out the next morning the front desk would not give me my receipt. She said priceline would email me the receipt. She was very rude and strongly would not give me my receipt. I called priceline and told them the problems I had. They put me on hold and when they came back he told me I got the right room. I was to have a sofa coffee table and 2 chairs but all I got was one chair in our room. I did not have no dining table so it was hard for 2 people eating KFC at a computer desk. The room was clean and bed was soft but the service sucks. I bet if they would of gave me my receipt then I would of been able to prove them wrong. I will not use priceline again and never stay at this hotel. I'll drive back to Joplin to stay when I come back to town. And to there breakfast was nasty. Waffle had a funny taste to it. Could of been expired batter. Sack breakfast had stale donut, over ripe apple, bottle water and a muffin. They wouldn't let you choose the flavors you like.

We stayed at the Best Western in Neosho MO Feb. 2nd to the 3rd. The lobby was clean and inviting when we came in at 4:30 pm on the 2nd. The hotel desk lady greeted us warmly and helped us with room keys for room number 227 with a King size bed. She was very professional, polite, and helpful. We went to our room and placed our luggage in before exploring Neosho. We returned at 6:30 pm and started to settle in. My husband went to the window to look out and explore the view. He leaned against the window and it moved, considerably. It looked like the window could fall out. My husband assured me it would not, it was just loose. Luckily we had no children, so we just left the window alone after he closed the curtains. It did have a slight draft right at the window, but the heat compensated for that drawback.

After I arranged a wake up call at 7:30 am, which they did wake me up at 7:34 am. Then I also inquired about the laundry. Both times the front desk was very helpful.

The bathroom was large, beautiful, with a large mirror and granite looking counters for the sink area. The bathroom had a hair dryer. There were little bottles of shampoo, soap, a makeup remover towelette, and even a shower cap. They had adequate towels and toiletries for two people. We brought our own toiletries however, so took the hotels home for friends. The tub/shower/whirlpool combo was large with plenty of hot water. I must have had an hour long shower followed by an hour long soak in the whirlpool followed by a 20 minute shower and the hot water never ran out. This was wonderful for my back after driving for 5 hours to get there. The toilet and sink functioned as expected. The bathroom is the highlight of the room in my opinion.

There was a little closet indentation area next to the bathroom with hangers to hang up one's coat. There was also an ironing board and an iron which we did not use.

The bedroom itself had a desk with a lamp and chair. On the desk was a pad of paper and a pen. There was a side table also with a lamp, phone, and Bible. There was a flat screen tv which we did not watch as we were too busy attending to our business whenever we were in the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The sheets were clean and smelled nice. The pillows were fluffy, clean, and also smelled very nice. The decor of the room was sparse, but tasteful. The bed had a brown bedspread which was clean, but I hate the color brown. There was a wonderful brown neck roll which I felt immediately drawn to even though I hate the color brown. It helped relieve a lot of back pain when I used it.

The nights sleep was very comfortable. There were no disturbances. No loud tv's or loud arguing as we have experienced in lesser hotels. The staff never disturbed us. It was pleasant, quiet, and calm.

The next morning after our wake up call we went down to breakfast. Breakfast had biscuits, gravy, waffles, honey, butter, fake syrup (corn syrup posing as maple syrup), muffins, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, milk, silk milk, eggs, tea, fresh fruit, coffee, and sausage. They were running low on sausage when we showed up an hour before breakfast ended. However, the lady in charge of the breakfast soon remedied that situation and also helped me select some teas. The breakfast is very good, but I didn't like the quality of the sausage. The sausage was gritty is all I can say to describe what I personally didn't like about them. The biscuits, gravy, yogurt, waffles, and eggs were wonderful though.

Check out was super simple. The staff was very polite and thorough. They explained the new Best Western rewards program for me. I was wished a safe trip home and to have fun. I love the staff here, they are all very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is the...
