Our preferred Mexican Dining establishment in Neosho, Missouri is El Pueblito, although a bit pricey - the food is always spot on. - Unfortunately they were closed and my wife and I chose to take a chance on another local place, El Charro. I ordered to go and wasn't able to eat until 2 hours after I got home (25 minutes away) Our meal consisted of: 1 ground beef chimi - rice & beans & 3 ground beef enchiladas w/ rice and beans - large queso - extra red sauce. BOTH entree's were wrong, and after a lengthy conversation with the owner / manager the woman painfully agreed to replace both entrees only on our next visit. The attitude of the woman I spoke with was that of disrespect and disgust, even though they agreed to replace the primary entrees I just felt as though it was another road to another disturbing end. The establishment just didn't put forth the effort to satisfy the customer. I refused the offer and will definitely choose any eating establishment over El Charro in the future. I did taste enough of the food to say that the pulled beef in the enchilada had a gritty taste to it, the queso appeared to have been watered down and was very thin. The red sauce was good, but the chips were nearing "STALE" - so there wasn't much to snack on outside of the original disappointment. - I suggest you go elsewhere -...
Read moreUsually I would rate this place much higher but this last time has soured my opinion indefinitely. The food here has gone downhill in the last few months with even the cheese dip tasting like water with a hint of spice, the steak tastes grainy and the shrimp tastes rubbery and unwashed. I wouldn't have wrote this review if it wasn't for my friend finding a small rock in her beans, she showed the waiter and he said sorry and walked off, not caring at all. However the rock completely ruined her appetite because she thinks that her tooth may now be chipped, she then sent the food back because she was uneasy and the waiter came back saying he couldn't do anything (she didn't ask for it to be removed yet) because his manager wasn't there. So when she went to pay she made a comment about how she hates paying 50$ for food she only ate not even half of, the waiter then made a snarky remark at the end of the transaction saying "Thanks for the tip" as she walked out. Never coming back here again, I recommend you to be cautious when eating here because the price is not worth...
Read moreHad wanted to try this place for a long time. The food was pretty good, but only above average. My waiter was so rude. He stood behind my back to take my order! I could not even see who I was talking to. My food took exceptionally long, and though I had my empty iced tea cup at the edge of the table, I never received a refill. He must have thought I was someone else or he did not like single white senor citizens because he walked by me to fill the other tables iced tea and pick up their empty plates. He offered them dessert but never returned to my table. One of the other tables said to me, "I am sorry you were treated like that" when the other table heard then, they also spoke up also saying "Yea, why did he stand behind you to take your order?"
I've never been in there, I'm new in the area, all I can say is:
If you are a senior citizen on a cane or walker, don't go in there. Especially if you are white. Those are the only things I can think of.
He was a very big Latino man in his late 29s. I hope no one treats his mother the way...
