Please note that my review is with the perspective of someone that stayed at different glamping sites.
We stayed at G14 glamping tent for 3 nights and had an overal okay experience, but not great. It is important to notice that we were there in a weekend that the campground was completely full, so it may not be always like this. The structure of the tent is really good, loved that they had a fan and plenty outlets to use. Although it was summer the tent gets cold at night I would like the option of having an extra blanket. We used the heating pad and it worked well. Also, it would be great to have a little mirror and the option of renting a picnic kit or bbq kit with cups etc. We rented the gas fire pit and it was a great experience.
The set up of the campground allows NO privacy. It is important to distinguish this location from other places that primarily focus in glamping tents since you will be surrounded by people in RVs and doing regular camping right next to you. Also, the tent next to us had 3 children under 10 years old and because the tents are so close to each other we could hear absolutely everything. Worth noting, the parent was doing a great job trying to keep the children well behaved, but children are children and they deserve space to be loud. Maybe for the future the campground could divide reservation into cluster areas. I went glamping looking to escape to a quiet and private space in nature and the inn town campground was definately not that.
The female bathrooms were okay clean, but smelled and had poor ventilation and the floor was dirty with hair and dust. One of the tricky things is that there is no separation for glamping tent structure from other types of camping and everyone accesses the same restrooms and showers. If I were doing regular camping I would not mind it, but I was intentionally doing glamping and expecting better bathroom set up. They dont offer paper towels or some basic hygiene items, but the shower towels provided in the camp were of very good quality. Maybe adding a little basket to bring hygiene items and the towel back and forth from the tent will be a good help.
Overall the price was good for what they offered, but I will be willing to pay more for the improvements suggested in...
Read moreBeen to Inn Town a couple of times now...this place is an absolute gem!
Our latest trip was to celebrate "Friendsgiving" with several of our friends. This is something we do to celebrate our friendship, complete with a turkey dinner, a few weeks before the actual Thanksgiving celebrations takes everyone away to their families...it is a way to give thanks for each other and for all the love in the group that we enjoy all year.
Inn Town Campground was the perfect place to do this...we all live in the greater Sacramento and Placer County area and have gone to places further away for past Friendsgivings....it was very nice to only drive a short distance and still feel like we were far away from our daily concerns (and cities).
The majority of our group had trailers so we enjoyed well thought out and tidy RV spaces, full hookups, and campground amenities that made the weekend easy and relaxing.
Dan and Erin have done a great job putting together areas for groups to congregate. We were able to utilize a large flat area up on the main hill of the campground where there were several barbecues set up (like the iron ones you find in city parks), several picnic tables (which we set up end-to-end and decorated for the season), small cast iron chairs and tables (those little bistro sets), and gas fire rings (they came and lit for us) surrounded by Adirondack chairs.
Also, right next to where we set up the tables is one of the shower/restroom buildings (CLEANEST I have EVER seen at ANY campground...should be the standard every campground owner must follow!!!!)...on one wall was a huge two-station stainless sink dish washing and food prep area. Sparkly clean and very nice to have access to.
Some of our group utilized the incredibly well stocked and arranged community kitchen up in the main building (the rooms behind the office) to prepare their part of the Friendsgiving dinner. Could not have been nicer!
Erin came by while we were making our preparations and chatted and took photos. She and Dan clearly care about their guests and are wonderful hosts. We were very satisfied with everything Inn Town Campground has to offer. We will...
Read more[Edit & Update] This summer of 2024, we returned for our 5th? season of camping at Inn Town Campground. We had so much fun visiting South Yuba River and even discovered new spots, including a tube-float down the Truckee River with the kids. They had a blast and can't wait to go back. The camp is still just as nice as the first visit! The facilities are clean, organized, attended to regularly, and maintained. We love it at Inn Town Camp and look forward to our next visit! My family has enjoyed staying at Inn Town Campground twice now (in travel trailers for a week each time), and both times have been peaceful, enjoyable, and memorable occasions. The staff are always friendly and do a great job keeping all the sites neat and orderly. The bathrooms, outdoor dish washing station, grill areas, laundry room, swimming pool and deck, are all clean, well-stocked, and pleasant to experience. The outdoor shower is a highlight! Some people might feel bummed about the lack of a “real” campfire due to the need for propane firepits to reduce the risk of wildfire, but my five-year-old still got to enjoy an excessive number of roasted marshmallows so no loss there (except maybe lack of sleep getting the kid off the sugar high). Our favorite spots around Nevada City are anywhere along the Yuba River (sneakers or river shoes highly recommended) and Hirschman Trail. There are a number of great hikes in and around the campground; ask at the camp store or use the AllTrails app. SPD Market is fairly close to the campground and very well-stocked with produce, an excellent meat department and deli, and a sporting goods section where you can get fishing supplies. Nevada City itself is a fun town to explore. If you’re looking for a place to stay that is a world away from crammed in RVs and concrete pads, and is a real breath of fresh air among the trees, stay at Inn Town Campground. Dan and Erin have truly created a special place that has balanced natural beauty with modern convenience, and we can’t...
