Hotel was cheap for the average New York price and is close to the trains. I stayed for a festival at Forest Hills and it was easy to travel to and from the hotel and the venue. Not the most picturesque location but that aligns with the price.
My main issues with my stay were with my room and the customer service. To start, the bathroom door was similar to a sliding barn door. It did not lock and would slowly reopen after being closed. The light switches in the bathroom were strange and difficult to operate. There was not a working fan in the bathroom. The entire hotel was actually very humid. I could not close the curtains all the way, because they were not wide enough to cover the entire window. What I would expect to be a sheer curtain was actually a plastic shower liner. Through the entire stay I could constantly hear was sounded like a distant scream or yell coming from elsewhere in the hotel?
Both attendants at the front desk were unfriendly and unhelpful. Upon check in the lady at the front desk confirmed that we were staying for three nights. During night one the man working the front desk stopped us to tell us there was an issue with our booking and we were only staying for two nights. He offered no help. Said he was unable to do anything and to talk to the lady in the morning. I suspect he didn’t know how to operate the booking systems. We ended up having to find somewhere else to stay for our last day with little to no notice.
They claim to have luggage drop off, but it’s really just an open room in the basement that everyone has access to. Your bags are not guaranteed to be safe.
If it wasn’t for the booking issue I wouldn’t have minded the stay too much.
There is also what seems to be a spotted laternfly infestation around...
Read moreIf you're desperate and need a night in that location then go for it - it's not a roach motel, it's clean with new fixings. But if you can go some where else, definitely skip it. You can go to really really nice hotels in the city for the same price. Here's my review: starting with entry. The guy who (didnt) greet us at the door- i don't even think he cracked a smile once. The service was lacking. The rooms are pretty small. The shower literally is flat on the floor with a tiny half inch lip to prevent(doesn't actually prevent anything ) water over flow. The vibe of the hotel is honestly the worst. It feels like a rinky dink sneaky link spot. For $300 it's a "hell no. would never again" for me. If the price point was at a hundred bucks i wouldn't have complained so much. Also, the lighting was atrocious. It got good sunlight with the windows open so that was ok but the lighting in the bathroom was horrid and there was no windows to save it. And the lighting in the room was pretty bad as well (day and night). We couldn't figure out the tv. The location is what really saves this hotel. But few more complaint lol. You could hear allot of the Atlantic Avenue traffic even with the windows closed. Not relaxing. Oh last thing i forgot - they have a ton of advertising around the building for free parking included with your stay - parking lot was under construction. Lol smh. Like i said, If you're desperate and need a night in that location then go for it -But if you can go some where else, definitely skip it. You can go to really really nice hotels in the city for...
Read moreOk so this is going to be a detailed review and my advice to anyone looking to book here.
In terms of where the location of the hotel is It’s a little on the rough side But I had no issues in the area at all The bodega across the street was very welcoming to me and every other place in the area as well
As for the hotel
If you are looking for just a room with a bed,hot shower, TV and don’t mind it being a little compact and want a good price Then I’d recommend this hotel I wouldn’t really reccomend this hotel to someone with a huge family It more so seems to be for 1-4 people depending which room you book
It’s not the fanciest hotel but I definitely enjoyed my stay here and it was worth the price for sure I didn’t request any service The room was pretty stocked with towels And I was only there for 2 days
For me it was more so just a place to sleep and store my things. Was a little nervous about people going into my room when I wasn’t there But that never happened
Hallway did have a very mild Weed smell But it’s NYC. Everybody smokes so it’s not much you can do about that
Would I stay here again ?
100 Percent, Yes
Like I said the price is already a deal And the pros definitely outweigh the cons
If your a young adult traveling and wanting to save some $$$ and don’t mind the area (which is a cool area still) I highly recommend
I had 0 problems with this hotel And will definitely...
