My overnight stay at the Wyndham JFK Airport/Far Rockaway hotel commenced on Friday, January 27, 2023 and it was marked with numerous issues from the outset. First, immediately upon arrival, I noticed several males out front blasting loud music and smoking marijuana in plain view without any qualms. Next, the male associate who facilitated my check-in, has NO place in a heavily-based customer service role where he is the nucleus of customer contact. Staff members working in this position should flawlessly assist hotel guests, in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner. As a hospitality front-desk associate, their goal is to ensure that your hotel is warm, welcoming, and makes guests feel like they're at home. Conversely, however, the check-in associate was rude, curt, non-approachable, and lacked the graces and refinement that are imperative traits in customer-service facing positions, positions that require a flair for customer service. His ineptitude not only rendered Wyndham's view on professionalism meaningless by contrast, but most importantly it comforted him in perceiving that he's above reproach.
Second, my room was seedy and it was filled with garbage and debris on the floor and the bathroom sink was also uncleaned. And despite me capturing the room's state with photos and addressing my concerns to Julia, the front-desk associate, it remained that way until my departure on Monday, January 30, 2023.
It's incomprehensible that Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. would permit Wyndham JFK Airport/Far Rockaway to provide such substandard customer service to their customers, especially with regards to hospitality. I truly hope that you will deal with this chronic lapse of customer service accordingly, as the work ethic at this hotel needs to be examined with expediency.

Read moreI would not even give one star as a rating but unfortunately one has to pick at least that to post , first there's several false advertising in there website the daily free buffet breakfast which the way they present it one would think everyday of the week which is not the case its only on weekend which you don't find out until you get there , then they say 24 hour gym will it's close until further notice , then they say free parking but they don't tell you that there's only 6 parking spots and one of the 6 is a handicap spot & I'm guessing there's at least 30 rooms so if you get a spot you can't use your car because you'll lose your parking spot and be of the mercy of street parking which if your not back by 4pm you end up parking very far away if your lucky which is a handicap nightmare, then there handicap unit is advertised with handrails , raised toilet sit , shower sit , adjustable shower hose , emergency call buttons on phone which the handicap unit that I was assigned to ONLY has hand rails I immediately brought to there attention at front desk they said all there handicap units are like that with the exception of only one unit room 25 which they claim has it all , then GM which his name is Andy is never available and does not return calls nor does the owner Mr Ticas and it's going on for 6 weeks all ready , and it's a nightmare of passing the buck with Wyndham Corp ,, if your handicap stay away from here they false advertise and what's worse they charge more than other...
Read moreA desk clerk named Julia was like a ray of sunshine - my wife and I both thought so. Speaking of sunshine, or a lack of sunshine, we were not happy that our room on the "SC" floor - the basement - was like a dungeon. Very little natural light, no view of anything out the small, high windows. We should have been informed that the room would be below ground level. Even if the room was offered at a reduced rate, we might not have taken it. (And we found out later that there were many available rooms in the hotel.) We are most probably returning to the area in March with our extended family - four of our children with their spouses (and children (, or significant others. We are going to need a hotel for multiple nights, with perhaps 5 available large rooms. Your hotel is located conveniently to where we need to be - but we would hope that you could be a little more accommodating with rooms other than those in the basement.||One last observation - for two days running, in the early morning morning hours (after sun-up) there was a scarcity of both hot drink cups, as well as cold drink (water) cups. The desk staff should be able to replenish the cups, without having to wait for the morning...
