Just had an amazing spooky night with my sister at the new Hyatt Place Silicon Valley! đŸŽƒđŸ‘» We transformed our room into a Halloween haven using decorations from Walmart and the dollar store proving you don't need to spend big to have a fun.Happy Halloween! @Walmart @Hyatt #CapCut #halloween #walmart #CapCut #fyp

This location (although new), still needs A LOT of work. When I came to check in, staff mentioned they had just opened a week prior. Issues during our stay: -Staff needs training at reception. I've stayed at a lot of Hyatt's the last few weeks and this was the most off-brand. No mention of status. Had to ask for water, and staff was asking each other how to work through issues. Hopefully as time passes, staff gets more experience. -Elevator buttons really need a rework. At times an elevator didn't go to certain floors or buttons were not working. Really alarming to have elevator issues already. -Water pressure was pathetic. Had to have maintenance come look at it, mentioned rocks in the showerhead, cleared it. Helped a little bit, but still odd to have a new hotel and subpar water pressure. Staff was a bit awkward about the situation when I brought it to their attention. -Breakfast was really terrible. One of the worst I've had at Hyatt locations. -Small parking spaces out front ("clean air vehicle" is misspelled...), goes to show how unorganized opening the hotel was -Housekeeping should have a list of when folks are checking out. Even if there is no DND tag, they shouldn't need to knock on the door in the morning if it isn't even close to noon. (Also, our DND tag randomly got taken as well) Pros at this spot: -Room/bed had a nice new feel -Fitness room looked nice, but didn't get a chance to use -Free parking This Hyatt really needs to tidy up a lot of items. The other benefit is that it is on the more budget friendly side...so I would potentially be open to coming back in the future once they get some experience under their belt.

Everything was pretty good in the beginning but as we started for 2 weeks here we found a lot of ants around the area and in our room. Housekeeping would not clean the floors we had to do it ourselves as well as their shower, it kept backing up and getting clogged. Their breakfast option were ok but not to great for me and my wife’s taste. To top everything off the last day before we needed to check out at 12pm, I went to get breakfast outside at 9am and when I came back in less then 12 minutes, my drinks and frostbuddy cup was taken from my room even tho I had the do not disturb sign up and the tv on and not checked out of the hotel yet, my stuff was taken the only thing left was the tv on and my pills still where I left them along with the do not disturb sign taken off so I would be very careful with this place. My wife and I were mainly out on our time here not much time spent in the room. Everything was an ok experience at this hotel but honestly them stealing my stuff is not ok and then trying to make it seem that it was ok and an accident when it wasn’t, it is not ok for them to do that when everything was in place for them not to enter the room showing we were still here and not checked out. I will definitely not be using this place ever again. I’m glad I got my stuff back except one item, it took them too long to get it back though like they were hoping I’d leave it alone if they didn’t find them. I hope I help someone to be aware of their items if chosen to stay here.

Hello,||I'm sorry to say that this property is, at least for the moment, a stain on Hyatt's reputation. The stay was far below expectations. I know that much of the management is in the hands of a third-party company but either way, this place needs lots of improvement. Even in its short duration so far, the hotel garners only 3.0 or, 3.5 stars, which is somewhat of an indication that I am not the only person that has experienced a problem. This stay was not my first time there. On a previous stay, I woke up with many insect bites and the room also had a very bad odor. I was able to change rooms after the first night. However, when I reported this to the front desk upon check-out, I was met with what bordered on hostility and, a lack of concern. I was also told that the hotel does not have on-site management. The woman at the front simply said "thanks for letting me know" with quite a negative tone, with regard to the initial room and its issues. No empathy, no apology, no indication they would address the problem for future guests.||I thought I would drop the GM a quick note but, the staff person refused to give me any contact information and further said that they operate without a general manager, which is something that I have not ever encountered with any hotel property anywhere in the world, to be honest. ||I also want to emphasize in the strongest possible terms that I was cordial and pleasant. Other staff members and definitely other Hyatt properties would ratify that this is how I conduct myself. When I returned for this most recent stay, I was assigned the same room. I was not aware that it was the same room until later on. Although the room still had a foul odor and had an unclean bathroom, it was late and I let it be. However, I ended up with more bites and actually saw insects. For the second night I was given a different room. This obviously demonstrated that the initial rude person at the front desk the last time did absolutely nothing to rectify the problem for future guests. I was able to take some pictures of the unclean bathroom. As an aside, I had just exchanged emails with the sales manager, as we have some upcoming groups to book. I obviously won't book them here. As someone who travels a lot and is a million-point World of Hyatt member across a couple of accounts, I am eminently disappointed. You will be, too if this hotel doesn't get its...

I have stayed at countless hotels, including many Hyatt properties, but I have never experienced such blatant mismanagement, safety breaches, and disregard for guests — especially at a brand-new hotel. Hyatt Place Newark/Silicon Valley should be an embarrassment to the Hyatt brand.||||1. Multiple Room Failures & Unprofessional Staff||I was first checked into a room with broken blinds. The front desk associate, who smelled strongly of weed and was visibly high, actually asked me if I “really needed blinds.” I was then moved to a room with no working AC. After speaking to Luiz, the General Manager, I was reassigned to a room that already belonged to another guest — complete with their name card and fruit plate. When I told him this was obviously wrong, Luiz insisted it was correct.||||2. Privacy & Security Violations||While I was off property, my belongings — including work equipment and prescription medication — were forcibly removed from the wrong room and placed into yet another room without my knowledge or consent. This is a serious violation of guest trust, privacy, and security protocols.||||3. Property Neglect & Poor Operations||The elevators were out of order, multiple rooms had non-functioning AC, and breakfast was appallingly inadequate. At one point, there were Lucky Charms cereal scattered across the floor in the dining area. Luiz himself came to the area, spoke with staff, and still left it there for guests to walk around.||||4. Management Failure & Token ‘Apology’||For all of this, I received nothing more than a small bag of Cheetos and a Kind bar. No written apology. No accountability from Luiz. No assurance that guest safety or operational issues would be addressed.||||Hyatt corporate should be alarmed — this is a brand-new property that already operates like a neglected roadside motel. If this is how they treat guests now, I can’t imagine how bad it will get over time. Until there is a complete change in leadership and a serious retraining of staff, this hotel is a liability to the Hyatt name and a risk...

We stayed at the Hyatt from August 14–17 as a family of four with an infant. The staff were very welcoming, quickly provided us with extra towels, linens, and a crib, and the room was spacious with two queen beds plus a pullout sofa—perfect for our family. Parking was easy and included, the location was convenient, and reception was always friendly and attentive to our requests.

The main downside was breakfast. Each morning, most items were cold or lukewarm, food and utensils often ran out, and guests frequently had to ask for replenishments instead of the staff automatically replenishing items as needed without prompt from guests. Every morning there was minimal fruit and we were told only a limited amount of fruit is put out every morning, the hard boiled eggs were cold, the flour tortillas were warm which was a good, the scrambled eggs were cold and the breakfast potatoes were cold and the waffles or pancakes were typically warm. On Saturday, coffee ran out early and wasn’t replaced; on Sunday, hot water ran out well before breakfast ended. Other guests, including us, voiced the same concerns to front reception. Only on our last morning did we finally have hot scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes. Plus on the last day the French toast was warm and tasted good. While staff did a good job maintaining food safety by reminding guest to put the utensils on the side, not inside the food pot and and staff would change the utensils if they noticed that somebody took their food out of the pot and put the utensil back inside the pot instead of putting it to the side of the pot, the overall quality and consistency of breakfast was disappointing—easily the weakest part of our stay.

That said, we would stay here again for the great rooms, service, and parking—but we’d skip the breakfast and grab...
