Good day
My name is Charles W Drew. My relatives and I stayed at your Comfort Inn & Suites in Newcastle, Oklahoma. Our stay covered the dates of August 21st thru August 25th of 2024. We were there for the funeral of our 39 Y.O. nephew, a military veteran.
After traveling close to 900 miles by car, we arrived late in the afternoon of Wednesday the 21st and checked in to your hotel. My sister and brother-in-law were in room 200 and I was in room 202. After quickly dropping our luggage, we went to dinner then returned to go to bed as we were all exhausted.
When I woke on the morning of the 22nd, I noticed some DOG FECES on the carpet by the desk. When I went down for breakfast, I advised the night desk clerk of the matter. He stated he would have someone up immediately to clean it and have the manager contact me as I requested to speak to them.
Four hours later, when neither room service nor a manager had responded, I went down and spoke to the day desk clerk. She stated she was not told of the problem, then proceeded to berate me for not notifying the desk when I first arrived. I then explained to her we had arrived late and hadn't noticed it till this morning. I was told by the lady that she would have someone up immediately and would have the manager speak with me. Well after 2 hours later, a cleaning lady by the name of Mimi (the only bright spot of this hotel stay) came and cleaned up several piles of Dog Droppings. Mimi apologized numerous times for the mess. She also vacuumed the room as well as she noticed it had not been done either. She also fixed the coffee maker since it was missing a part that held the coffee.
It should be noted that I had requested the manager contact me over these issues. That NEVER HAPPENED. My sister and brother n law had extremely low water pressure in their room shower, which they had complained about. That too went unaddressed by hotel management.
We ended up checking out a day sooner than we intended (08-24-24) due to the poor management and the poor quality of the breakfast. When we checked out, I spoke with the same lady desk clerk about not being charged for the 25th as a comp due to the nasty state my room was in on my arrival. She just smiled and said NO. " WE DONT DO THAT".
My Account number is CXD991616. I can guarantee you I will never stay at this run-down Comfort Inn again. I will also think long and hard about staying at any Comfort Inn and Suites. Additionally, I will be leaving a very not-so-nice review on this Comfort Inns web site.
Please find attached a photo of the present left by the previous guest to the room.
I would like a response from someone in authority over...
Read moreOverall our stay was very nice and this is nice hotel. There are a few things you should know:
Be aware that housekeeping starts early and doesn't hesitate to open the door as they're knocking even when you have the Do Not Disturb sign on the door (which mysteriously disappeared). Hotel check out time is noon and we had a late check out for 1 pm. Housekeeping started coming into our room at 11 am and did this 2 times before we left. As we left they were standing in the hallway hawking our door just waiting for us to leave.
We discussed this with the desk manager as we were checking out. He told us that their policy is to knock 3 times, each time announcing themselves BEFORE entering the room. They definitely do NOT do that so be sure you are dressed at all times or have the door-stopper engaged so they can't get all way in the room.
Also, the desk clerk said he would be sure we received extra points as an apology, but we haven't seen those credited to our account as of today.
We've stayed at a LOT of Choice Hotels over the years and this is the WORST internet we have seen at any of them. If you are using a laptop to access the internet, bring an ethernet cord with you or leave your laptop at home. Even using the ethernet cord, we got less than 1 Mbps. There's only one ethernet plug in the room, so if more than one of you have a laptop, be prepared to share. The desk clerk even gave us a special code and it was as bad, if not worse, than the regular wifi.
The couch is as uncomfortable as it looks in the pictures. Not only are the springs & cushions broken down, but you can't even reach the side table next to you because the arms are so high. So save your money and don't pay extra for the suite unless you HAVE to have it.
In spite of everything, this is a really nice hotel and we thought the breakfast was really good, you just have to be aware of some things so you can be prepared.
P.S. Guest services at the casino told us that someone from the casino would come and pick us up if we wanted to go there. Once we were there, we found out this is NOT the way it is. You will either need to walk or drive your own vehicle to the casino if you want...
Read moreWe stay at this hotel when we gamble at Newcastle and make this a mini vacation away from home night.
We were shocked to find out the prices for last night sky rocketed. I mean we typically pay around $125-150ish after taxes.
Last night we paid over $300. The quality of the rooms didn't change, we enjoy the space and quietness. However, what did change was the lack of cleanliness in common areas and lack of service at breakfast.
You would think if they're going to price gouge for what I assume was do to a college football game they would at least maintain the service and cleanliness of the common areas.
Breakfast was bare, no one came to refill or check on the breakfast area for at least 20ish minutes.
Guests kept coming down and for breakfast, to find nothing and skim for whatever they could get. At one point, I ran back downstairs to get coffee, this was at least 30 minutes since I was last down there. A guest approached the front desk lady and asked if she was going to restock because there wasn't anything, the front desk asked what was missing (with a response ready because she knew there wasn't anything) and in the same breath offered to make some sausage but the breakfast closes in 10 minutes. The guest wasn't making a scene but just talking with the front desk and she did make a comment that "she's never been to a breakfast that when you're out you don't restock but you keep the breakfast going until the hours that are listed are met".
I did say something to that guest, because I was irritated with the employees lack of customer service and really just doing her job (for the hours that I could vouch for when I was down there) that I responded it was like that when I came down initially over and hour prior and 30 minutes before, and I hadn't experience this before at this location.
Here's my thing, if you're going to price gouge, accommodate and at bare minimum meet the basic needs of what your business states and at least keep it cleaned up. $300 rooms should have stocked fake eggs, stocked under cooked sausage, stocked plastic ware, stocked creamer, etc on stocked and clean tables areas where...
