Boomerang Diner has great food and a good selection of choices. I love their Steak Sandwiches and they make a very good burger. Tater tots on the side served with Ranch dressing. I eat at Boomerang Diners all over the State. There seems to be a very slight difference in your dining experience in some. I have found that depending on the franchise protocol about food prep. There may be a difference in one place from another as far as finished quality of foods especially the chicken fried steak sandwich. Some of these restaurants pre fry and let sit under a heat lamp for times when they know they will be busy. They only have to drop the chicken fried steak back in the fry vat to bring it back up to serving temp. Not all of them do it. This particular one hasn't that I've seen to date. The sandwich is a bit over done when handled this way. Still good but not to the specs of Boomerang quality. As a Chef and food sales person since 1972. I cannot be tricked or fooled by much of anything food. I always advise restaurants that do this not to do it. Nothing beats fresh cooked. It is highly likely you will have a great dining experience at one of these great American Diner type restaurants. Love their foods and the motifs. Diner is served diner style and the music and pictures on the walls are fun. Dont think you'll go wrong...
Read moreI have to say that this was the worst dining experience I have had in quite some time. After arriving it took the waitress almost 10 minutes to greet us and get our drinks. We had our children with us and usually an observant waitress will bring you kids menus. Well not this one. We had to request the kids menu and even after that it took her for whatever reason an additional 10 minutes. Keep in mind this is a small establishment. At the time she finally brought the kids menu she said she would give us a couple of minutes to look it over and decide on what the children were having. Well that was the last time we saw our waitress until we walked out without ever even ordering our food thirty minutes later. Yes that's right we spent near an hour at this restaurant and all we got was our drinks. The whole time we were waiting we observed our waitress cleaning and bussing tables all around us. She even attended to her other tables that came in after us. You would have thought we were death itself by how much she was avoiding us. In short we will never be visiting this Boomerang diner again. It's a shame because I liked this place since I live just...
Read moreFriendly staff and good coffee. Kitchen does not seem to do any special requests though. I asked for well done hashbrowns and they were barely brown and not crispy at all, to be fair though, very few places will actually cook their hashbrowns any differently than the way that they regularly make them, Jimmy's egg won't either. Asked for cheddar cheese in an omelette and got what normally comes in it instead (american processed) which turns into an unappetizing watery mess when mixed with the excess liquid from ham. I didn't want to wait for the omelet to be made correctly and just asked for scrambled eggs instead which they were prompt to do and were out within a few minutes. Apparently at this location they have people trying to get free food regularly or something because I was asked to scrape my food, minus the omelet, onto the plate of scrambled eggs that they brought out so that they could take the omelette and make the adjustment on the ticket. And no, they weren't just trying to be nice and make more room on the table, they literally stated that they needed the omelette in order to make the adjustment. Very awkward...
