Mariposa Hotel — Hotel in Nogales

I write so few of these, but this one needs a bad review. Started off with the first room I was assigned the door wouldn't work, I went back and forth 3 times before they gave me a different room. Admittedly they did upgrade me into a suite. that would have been great but then the real story starts. The Cable is horrible full of snow and not many options. Went to take a shower, it took about 15 minutes to get any kind of hot water. Afterwords I heard a knock on my door, it was the manager telling me that tomorrow when I went to take another shower to let them know they would give me a different room as something had happened while I was taking a shower, I am assuming a leak somewhere most of the plug ins do not work in the room and one of the pillows smelled bad. I am starting to come down here a lot for work now, and will not be staying here...

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years; this was by far the worst! The check in was ok; I'll give them that much! But the first room smelled like a hundred cigarettes were smoked in there and it was run down. However, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I went down to change rooms. The girl told me it was a non smoking room and I said no way, someone was smoking in there! They gave a room a little better but not by much. I came back after spending time with friends, and went to take a shower. The water took forever to heat up but ok, it did. When I was getting out of the shower, someone banged on the door and then tried to bust open the door! I screamed for them that the room was occupied and they left. I got our of there ASAP, as it's NOT safe!!! I could never recommend...

King Junior Suite #405 -located directly over the office. Very quiet day and night.||PROS|-Very safe room location.|-Clean and spacious room.|-Cold fridge.|-Comfortable King size bed.|-Local shopping/ food across parking lot. |-We never heard a soul in 3 days, day or night.|-Great Mexican restaurant across the street |-4 star restaurant on premises. |-Room was located directly over office with the rest of the hotel in a different location onsite. ||CONS|-Broadcast TV only. Limited channels and reception. Older 32" TV- needs upgrade - Walmart has 60" for $300 bucks! That would go a long way with a smart TV and wifi.|-The breakfast had a stack of different bread products to toast, fake juice and powdered creamer. |-Water took a long time to heat up, still not hot.
