There were multiple things that were not okay for me during my stay. Upon check in, the front desk staff were very slow to check me in. I was made to wait in a vestibule with no heat on a very cold night for almost ten minutes while the night desk person made a reservation over the phone. The lobby, hallways, and even my room smelled very strongly of cigarettes and weed the entire time I stayed. On the plus side, the room was clean and everything functioned properly. However, on the third day of my stay (Christmas Eve), a pipe froze and burst on the same floor as my room. I understand the pipes freezing were not the fault of anyone on staff, however, they handled the subsequent events terribly. The person who called me to inform me that I needed to vacate my room was a poor communicator and had minimal costumer service skills. I was asked to come back the hotel within a couple hours to collect my belongings, before they explained the pipe situation. After they explained the entire hotel was being evacuated, they couldn’t tell me if anything had been damaged. They then assured me I would be refunded for the entire amount of my stay, including the two nights I had already stayed. At the time this felt like some consolation for having to find a new hotel on Christmas Eve. However, a few days later when I saw my credit card statement, I realized I was still charged for two nights. Since then, I have tried to call the hotel and no one answers the phone. There is no answering machine. I tried calling the customer care line for all motel 6 corporate. They were only able to tell me they could not help me and to keep trying the hotel number. I have never had such a poor experience at any hotel as I did at this location. Moreover, I have worked the front desk at two very nice competing hotels and a boutique hotel over three years, so I would be more understanding in the face of such a freak accident, if the staff had made minimal effort to communicate clearly. One star for cleanliness...
Read moreGot there, staff was amazing!! My mother had made me nervous about staying at motel 6. She says it's a place where bad people that cause trouble stay. Staff could not have been nicer. Our room was clean and comfortable. Beds were awesome. Our bathroom sink kept draining slow and i reported it. Somebody checked it out. Two days in to the stay, at quit draining. Immediately they put us in the room right next door. The rest of our stay was great. While moving, the sweet guy had never had a cake from crest so we cut him a piece. Our first night, the TV would not turn on and carl, the desk clerk came down and fixed it and i immediately called for something else and he was so sweet about it. Just the best staff. I have stayed at other places and they weren't near as attentive and friendly. The refrigerator was bigger in these rooms than in most. It held a case of diet Dr pepper, a full gallon of tea, milk, mustard, mayonnaise, ham and several other items. We are breakfast and lunch on our room and went out for supper. We kept a fully stocked fridge. Just like we were at home. I am glad we did not stay somewhere else just because my mother was leary of motel 6. Stayed at Hilton garden inn before, TV didn't work our entire stay, staff refused to come look at it and were so rude. Just goes to show you don't have to pay a lot for comfort and friendly service. Motel 6 in Norman Oklahoma is in a great, safe area, it's clean and staff is amazing. I recommend this place to anyone traveling through or to Norman. It's close to everything!!! You will not regret it. I plan to go back in July and I will be booking my room...
Read moreI experienced mixed emotions during my stay. While the location was convenient, there were significant discrepancies in the cleanliness of the rooms assigned to myself and my colleague. My room on the first floor appeared to have not been mopped properly, and upon closer inspection, I noticed soap scum on the sink and hair in the shower. Additionally, the bed emitted an unpleasant animal-like odor. When I requested a change of sheets, I was provided with brand-new, sealed sheets, which alleviated my concerns about potential odors. Ms. Straw was exceptionally accommodating and exerted additional effort to ensure my comfort. She provided me with various options to either change rooms or resolve the existing issue. Furthermore, she patiently and comprehensively addressed all my inquiries, ensuring my full understanding. She even demonstrated how to connect my laptop to the Wi-Fi and operate the room lights. Her exceptional service is worthy of recognition and compensation. The hotel's proximity to my intended destinations was convenient, especially considering my unfamiliarity with the area. Its location right off the freeway and the abundance of nearby dining options were additional advantages. While there were some challenges, such as the room situation and unpleasant odors, the hotel offered reasonable value for its price. I have encountered inferior accommodations that charged significantly...
