Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Norman

I don’t usually write reviews for fast food locations, but I had to do something to express how impressed I was with the service at this location on a busy summer afternoon. I have never seen a Sonic so busy, and it was HOT. I swung in just to get a drink and ordered on the app like I always do. I thought I’d ordered my usual drink, a large, but when the carhop brought my order, it was a medium. I kind of stammered out that I thought I’d ordered a large, and the carhop—a young man—said the receipt had a medium. Figuring I must have erred, I took the drink and mentioned that I’d been seeing how intensely he’d been delivering orders for the past several minutes and that he was doing a great job. When he left, I double checked my e-receipt and sure enough, I had ordered a medium and paid for a medium. Totally my fault, and I prepared to shrug it off and head on with my day. But not thirty seconds after he’d left my car, that carhop brought me a large of the drink I ordered. I didn’t deserve it, didn’t need it, and hadn’t paid for it, but he took thirty seconds out of his packed duties to make it and bring it to me. I hope he doesn’t get in trouble if a manager sees this; he should be praised for his service, and I will more than make up for the price of that large drink by picking this location over others around town next time I...

My wife and I stopped today to grab some food to take home. We just finished grocery shopping and had ice cream and frozen food in the car in 95° heat. We usually never leave a Sonic without thoroughly checking an order because orders are often wrong. Since we needed to get home we made the mistake of leaving without checking the order. We ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese tots and vanilla Dr. Pepper, a cheeseburger dry hold the lettuce and onion with cheese tots and a coke with easy ice and breakfast burrito with cheese tots and a diet coke ez ice. Here's what we got: double bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese tots and vanilla Dr. Pepper, a cheeseburger drenched in mayo and covered with pickles, cheese tots and a coke with extra ice, a breakfast burrito with cheese fries and another coke with extra ice. Sonics have always had trouble getting orders right, but it's only gotten worse as their menu choices have increased. A mere glimmer of hope in times of darkness crushed by a noob at sonic.

It is finals week; I wanted to treat myself to a sundae as a reward for all of my hard studying before my big exam and I decided: I’m going to Sonic for a quick break.

I ordered a Diet Coke and a sundae… thinking that I would get ice cream with hot fudge and whipped cream, no cherry. Alas, I was greeted by a cheery worker who handed me the Diet Coke and a cup of vanilla ice cream…if I wanted vanilla ice cream I would have ordered it.

Not being fond of confrontation but getting the wrong thing I said, “I thought sundaes came with whipped cream and hot fudge” to which the worker replied “you have to specify you want that with your sundae”. Internally, I filled with anger but I drove away in order to salvage my remaining sanity for my exam tomorrow.

If you’re seeing this, Sonic on 24th, please do not do this again because I am sure there are other people out there who will not be as gracious as me… next time MAKE SURE A...
