First time ordering from Soga Sushi via their online order placement (made an account and everything) very easy to choose items online and plan your meal for “pick up”with option to “pay upon pick up”. no updates or call or email regarding food readiness but that’s ok- I just showed up 35/45 mins after I placed order and food was waiting for me- ordered some rolls, hibachi dinner, miso soup (wish they have a liter option for purchase - super yummy) and general Tso. everything was flavorful, felt fresh, well packed, fairly priced and good enough portions. Recentlyish moved to Wallingford and haven’t been brave enough to try any of the Chinese places nearby (a lot of mixed reviews and bad ones) but I think Japanese is definitely a go to! Upon pick up interior of restaurant looked clean and welcoming with a mellow atmosphere - would definitely consider dining in. Overall a win!

This is one of the best little sushi restaurants around CT! Ive been to a lot of sushi joints around the state and this is at the top of my list. The sushi chefs know what they're doing and are so beyond nice, always asking how everything is and they don't hesitate to correct anything that may be wrong. The quality of the fish they use ishigher than other delicious places ive been. The color is nice and bright and it melts in your mouth. The staff is super friendly, too. This a great little hole in the wall place in an unassuming shopping plaza. Its worth a try if you like going to different sushi restaurants!

I thought it was another one of those fake Japanese restaurants but I was impressed. It’s a bit expensive but you pay for the quality. I’ve visited Japan quite a few times and have roamed its streets looking for good food. This place is not purely Japanese — hence the word “fusion” in its characterization. Yet they do an excellent job putting new touches to Japanese creations. Their fish is fresher and cuisine more innovative than Sonobana — my long time favorite in CT. Yes, the chefs are not Japanese — and usually that’s a bad sign — but I’m impressed by their good skills and impeccable service.

To preference I’m from California, used to pretty great sushi along the southern coast from all over LA and San Diego country. This sushi place had some pretty creative rolls, with a lot of variety and color. I particularly liked the W and A roll and the Soga roll. However, if you are looking for thick cuts of fish, this isn’t your place. It was pretty good and fixed a craving. The service was really good though!

Looks plain from the outside, but an absolute local gem! The food tastes amazing and the presentation is excellent. The staff is very attentive, and everything looks clean and well taken care of. Some of the best sushi and tempura I have had in years! They even threw in complimentary orange slices for dessert. Absolutely would reccomend, and if I could give it 6 stars I would!

This was my 1st experience here and will NOT be my last. The staff was friendly, one server even recognized a patron and chatted her up a little (not enough to ignore other people, but enough to make the customer feel valued) they also have a relaxed setting and the rolls were great! This might be my new lunch spot!
