When we arrived to the hotel the young woman was quick with checking us in and getting us to our room but she was quite engaged in whatever was going on with her phone and didn’t really ever make eye contact but I thought maybe she had something she needed to deal with. She still did her job in a timely fashion. The room looked pretty good. We dropped our stuff and dashed out as we had plans and needed to be quick. We returned that evening and tried to get the kids settled in and wound down. Pulled out the worlds crappiest sofa sleeper blew up our air mattress (because it’s $10 a night for a rollaway) and got the kiddos in bed. Turned the tv on for them only to have the cable go out as soon as we selected what we were watching. My husband is very tech savvy so I let him deal with that as I got ready for a shower. I then realized our soaps and lotions had all been used probably half of each were used. Then realized they left a roll of to that didn’t have enough for maybe two uses. Feeling slightly bothered by this I got my own stuff out for the boys to use and smell girly now and went to sit my bag down only to notice popcorn kernels in the bathroom floor. So they clearly did not sweep. I come back out to the guest room and my husband is frustrated because the outlet that the cable plugs into will not hold a plug because it is broken. So he has it draped across the room(not the safest with three kids) to reach the outlet that did work(on the wall across) and kids are in bed watching tv. So I tell my teen when the little one falls asleep just be sure to unplug it and sit it by the tv. I go to sit in the jacuzzi tub and relax and it will not hold water. Literally just draining as fast as it fills. We walked down and told the manager about the outlets before this happened and she notified me that maintenance would be by the next day and she was sorry. I told her it was not a big deal stuff happens and was very nice about it and just wanted to get some rest. The next morning we sat around waiting for maintenance and then just came down to tell her about the tub. She says well maintenance doesn’t work the weekends. I asked for a comparable room and she said they didn’t have one so we stayed in that but she said she would come check it out. She came in the room and acted like we were crazy because the plug would stay in for a few minutes if everyone stood at a stand still. My husband removed what looked to be a hair all the size of a mouse out of the drain in the jacuzzi and then told her the drain was stripped so she said well we can move you or discount the room but did not seem happy about it. We told her that wasn’t our goal we just wanted a room that was in good running order. We went to have breakfast which is served until 10 on weekends and at 9:30 they had stopped refilling items so we were pretty much stuck with cereal or microwave scrambled eggs. The next morning we got down earlier but the options were about the same. The pancake machine which is what all the kids wanted was broken the entire time and had crumbs under it both days so they never even cleaned it. Upon check out she did discount one night. Oh she did bring me an extension cord for the cable and it worked...
Read moreWe made a reservation for this hotel several weeks in advance as Hilton Honors members. We selected it because it was supposed to be modern/newly renovated. We indicated in the reservation and a few days before our arrival that we would arriving late-around 10pm. Upon arrival, we were given a room on the first floor next to the stairwell and one of the side exits—not an ideal location for quiet or safety. It was almost as if the worst rooms are given to the latest arrivals despite when the reservation was made. Strangely, the room also had a slight residual smoke odor, which I thought was odd given that the hotel was supposed to be newly renovated. I figured it had to be leftover from the pre-remodel days. We were tired and went to bed. Around 3am, we were awakened by super strong cigarette smoke wafting into our room. It was so bad, I went out to the front desk in my pj’s. The employee I spoke with indicated that it was a non-smoking hotel, but maybe the smoke was coming in from outside, which made no sense. Reluctantly, she agreed to check out the room herself. She only stood in the doorway and eventually told me she didn’t smell anything. It was unbelievable! The smoke was everywhere! She did not offer an apology or anything to help us. I had to press her to see if we could switch rooms and she told me we could not. As we were standing there, I saw a male employee with what could have been a pretty serious smoker’s cough go into a locked door nearby. I had to wonder if that employee was involved somehow, which would explain why the room had a residual smoke odor to start. Maybe he liked to smoke in a room nearby on a regular basis. Or maybe a guest was smoking in a room nearby. It was hard to say. I realize there wasn’t much she could do if it were a guest, but the entire situation was awful and I felt like there was zero acknowledgement of our discomfort. I actually thought about going to sleep in the car at that point, but decided that might not be safest thing to do in the end. So we we sucked it up-literally-in the room all night. Suffice to say, we did not get much sleep and our throats were raw in the morning. My husband spoke with another employee in the morning and was coldly told that the night employee didn’t smell anything. No apologies, sympathy or any semblance of customer service was provided. He also asked if there was another ice machine, as the one on the first floor was broken. He was told no—again, with no apology. As I was packing up, I started to notice all sorts of other things that were wrong in our room too. A broken toilet lid that was humpty-dumptyed back together. Cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom floor. Black smudge marks in the tub. A yellow-brownish ring around the sink drain. A slight residual stain on my duvet. |None of which added up to a great stay and coupled with the smoke situation, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in my lifetime. If you have a choice, choose to stay...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in the door I realized I should have not booked a night here. There was a function going on the weekend I stopped at this hotel and they made it clear that being a priority club member has no benefits at this property. I booked a regular room hoping that they would upgrade a spire member to a decent room (I was wrong). They kept their Queen bed rooms and king rooms for walk ins and gave us the double beds. In fact the people who checked in before us for the last 2 rooms in the hotel and neither were priority members and they both got single queen bed rooms. Once we got into the room we noticed that this hotel needs a lot of work. (see pics) there was mold on shower curtain. There was something growing in the corner need the tub, the molding in the room as coming apart in multiple places. The room smelled of smoke and cigarette burns were in the carpet. To top it all off behind the nightstand was toe nail clippings and I dont know nor did i want to inspect it closer. I wanted to leave but Customer service would not help and the front desk clerk was not helpful either. Also the nearest hotel was 30 minutes away. spent half the night in the room and the rest in my truck in the parking lot. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The general manager reached out to me last week and I gave them a chance to make this right and explained all this in a email. As of now nothing has been done to make this right nor has anyone reached back out to me. I hope this review might get them to take me seriously. I rated this hotel a 1 because I couldn't rate it lower.
They have been mentioning upgrades since aug of last year maybe they might do it soon. As of yet still no calls from hotel and nothing has been done to...
