My wife and I had the worst stay of our lives in our recent stay at TownePlace Suites Providence North Kingstown on July 3rd. It has been incredibly frustrating to explain this situation multiple times without resolution, and I hope that a manager can help us receive proper customer service. We booked it from July 3 to 6, but only stayed one night at Providence North Kingstown.||Upon our arrival, we discovered that the room was not clean. The air conditioning unit was dirty, the refrigerator was unclean, the sheets had stains, and the shower was in such poor condition that we didn't want to use it. Additionally, the toilet was dirty and contained hair. The bed was uncomfortable, and we did not sleep well that night, leaving us wishing we had stayed home.||I reported these issues to a customer representative through the Marriott Bonvoy app, and we agreed that I would check out the next morning, with a promise to return my 97,000 points along with my free night, which I used for this stay. When we checked out at the front desk, everyone confirmed that my points would be refunded.||Afterward, we booked a stay at the Residence Inn Providence Lincoln by Marriott from July 4 to July 6, planning to use points for that stay too. However, we did not have sufficient points for the second hotel, so we had to pay with our credit card, which is fine, but not part of our original plan. On the first night at the Residence Inn, the air conditioner did not work, and we were subsequently moved to a new room the following morning, which was finally satisfactory on the last night. Yet, the experience of repeatedly packing our belongings to change rooms created a stressful and exhausting weekend for us, one that we had hoped would be relaxing.||When I checked the Marriott Bonvoy app, I saw that only 43,300 points were returned for our first hotel stay. I contacted customer service and was advised to wait 10 days for the remaining points. After that period, I reached out again, only to be told to wait 12 to 14 days. After waiting the full 14 days, I contacted them once more, and they seemed unaware of my situation, stating they would only refund the first night and not return the points. I had used a free night, and given our prior agreement regarding our departure on July 4, I felt this was unacceptable.||To summarize, I now find myself in a position where I paid with points, my free night, and cash. We used multiple payment methods throughout the weekend due to our room changes, which have further complicated the situation.||In conclusion, don’t stay here if you want to have a...
Read moreWas in the area for a business conference with family last month for a partnership with another family business. Kamal took great care for us, freshened the room up (room had some smell and missing some linen), fresh pot of coffee (was no decaf out before), birthday cookies (warm and soft) for our kids, free babysitting while we unpacked (he even tutored them somehow and got them to learn algebra when I've failed for like months now, and there was another little girl staying with her parents who praised him for his hard work. Although they were smoking around their daughter which made me uncomfortable, but they were very nice.||Kamal was from the same area where I live in queens new york city, in fact, he even knew my mom before she passed! He even printed some coloring pictures for my daughter and son. And arranged someone at a local printshop to deliver a custom print for my presentation due to his connection and had it done within an hour even though they were closing. I tried offering him a job with us, but he was adamant on loving his current managers and coworkers although the pay was much less than what I offered. Considering the service, he provided in helping us book a conference room this was unexpected. I hope he grows in his own way and isn't limiting himself.||He also understood my business and technical or deeper conversations and consulting with him may have helped us land our software deal which turned things around for us this year! As an ambassador staying at over 100 hotels every year, this is the first time I've seen a front desk person, clean, service a room, bake, and provide great hospitality. ||I tried to tip him but he said he would not accept that much and only accepted 100 at most, and hope a manager can reach out about how I can give him more... I'm not sure if it's policy or just him not accepting more.||Elizabeth in the morning was very nice and helped me with my receipt quickly and still had hot coffee. Sweet young lady. Later on the people at the desk were not as pleasant about the managers which was odd, but perhaps they are not serious. But they helped me finish up my checkout though confused about my charges which I was able to clarify over the phone with the young man anyways.||I did not get a chance to try breakfast, but I'm glad I was able to stay here and if I'm in rhode island again. I know where I'll stay. The staff that works here are like those 1 in a million types of people you'd want to see at a Marriott hotel. A little understaffed, but...
Read moreWe only needed one night, a place to stay between touring University of Rhode Island and Roger Williams University.
Thank you TownePlace Suites for upgrading us from a king room to a two bedroom suite. It was completely unnecessary, but a nice surprise. I am a Marriot Bonvoy member. Maybe this is why I was upgraded?
Each staff person we encountered was very kind, professional, and courteous. Everyone we met was professionally dressed.
We were exhausted. We wanted to relax floating in the indoor pool a bit before bed. The pool was FREEZING!! Not at all relaxing. Much better suited to icing your muscles after a long day of high energy activity- not us. We had only been walking around URI.
The suite needs more than two hooks to hang wet suits. The only two we found were on the back of the shower/toilet room door.
Towels and amount of towels are AWESOME!
Beds are super soft- some people love this but we are used to, and prefer firmer beds. Our backs were sore when we woke up.
There are a ton of outlets which is AWESOME!
Black out shades are wonderful!
We didn’t use the tv or the streaming services. The entire place was immaculate!!
The location is perfect for touring colleges in the area. Our windows looked out on highway and parking lot. We didn’t mind. We were literally there to sleep.
We did have hope the free breakfast would be ok. It wasn’t. The coffee was horrible. The sausage biscuit was so dry, even with a butter pat on each half of the biscuit. The waffles are so filled with sugar they crunch. Ewww. We didn’t try the crustless quiche. We should have. We are not big fans of pears and are allergic to banana so the fresh fruit was not an option. We don’t eat cold boxed cereal. We find it doesn’t really stick with us. We did see the make your own granola bar and should have done that. We were hoping to eat quickly and leave because we had to be in Bristol by 8 am to park and tour RWU. If we need a place to sleep again we may book here but the breakfast may also be a deterrent.
Parking is...
