This is considered part of Caesar's Entertainment, which also includes Harrah's. At least it will take my total rewards card from the Harrah's property that I got in New Orleans. Maybe it is a feature that is common at a lot of casino's now, but I like how when you walk in you can actually put your DL in a machine and it will spit out a new Total Rewards card. Considering the number of times I come without my card, this is a very nice addition. There are a large number of slots, it has some of the older ones in the back corners which I really like and have played for over a decade. The newer slots are all around. There is also a very sizable non-smoking location. There were a few oddities at the casino, mainly a woman in the restroom washing her face and brushing her teeth (I went early in the morning on a Sunday). There was a fairly aggressive woman at a slot machine screaming at it, no one seemed to really take note of it. While I played there were a few times I moved because I was creeped out by how almost all the slots were avaliable and usually some very talkative, borderline rough looking men, would sit down next to me. I would just say that going early in the morning made it so that some of the lingering characters were not hidden by the throngs of people that began to show up by 10 a.m. I feel like when I was in Vegas and played in the early mornings I felt a bit more comfortable becasue there usually was security that I could see around and who were kind of keeping an eye on these individuals, that was not the case here. Know that to get here from Chicago you'll be taking the tollway, so have your $5.50 ready. On the trip back it was $5.30. So, if you're typically a loser at the casino, like me, I'd encourage you to keep the money in the car. If you go to the top of the parking garage you can get a really nice view of Chicago and the lake, or turn around and get a pretty epic view of Gary and the steel mills.

I went there after about a year, and most of the table games were gone. Only machine games were left, and they were terrible. My minimum bet was $2.40 to $3. I played for 210 minutes with $2,000, and the bonus game only came out 4 times. As you can see in the picture, it was really bad. It wasn't any better than the local game rooms. This place seems to be going downhill these days. I think they're manipulating the odds. It's a really trashy place. I'll never go there again. However, the people next to me who were betting $0.60 seemed to be doing pretty well. Don't bet more than $0.60 here. Almost everyone who bet $1.20 got up cursing. The bonus didn't come out, so just in case, I bet $4.80 (2 cents) or at least $6 more than 100 times, but the bonus didn't hit. And the commission is too high. I had to withdraw $500 from my card and the commission was over $30. It took over 10 minutes to get my money back because the staff didn't know how to do it. The staff got annoyed with me because they didn't know how to withdraw money. A few minutes later, a skilled employee came and withdrew my money, but then the first employee got angry at me again and said it wasn't his fault... All I said was, "Why can't I withdraw money?" I couldn't understand why he was mad at me... The most basic thing a casino should do is be kind to customers, but instead of admitting their mistake, they tried to make excuses and blame me, the customer. This place doesn't even meet the minimum standards. I used to like this place... Now it seems like they're just after customers' money. There's a reason why businesses aren't doing as well as they used to and are declining.

Located right on Lake Michigan with the skyscrapers of Chicago off in the distance. The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond is one of the nicest casinos ive ever been to. Tons of gambling available if thats your thing. However this cat loves it for the food and entertainment. On the second floor is the village square buffet one of the best you will ever eat at. All the food is seriously like 5 star food network quality awesomeness. With Soups and salads, italian, mexican, american grill, seafood, chinese and a wonderful dessert selection. Saturday nights all you can eat prime rib. For the huge selection and great quality the village square buffet will become a top 5. Even better is right next to it is The Venue a little concert venue they have. Which being near Chicago does bring in some good musicans, comedians, shows. So go enjoy a amazing meal then walk on in and enjoy a show, perfect date night. Gambling optional

To those who don’t want to read this: place sucks now, terrible service, way to many new people who don’t know how to do their jobs yet and need way more training. If you want a good experience go to the hardrock or wind creek.

After years of playing at the Hammond horseshoe I now feel compelled to write a review on its current state. I got to the casino around midnight with the intent to play poker as the poker room is great. I walked into the center bar area where about 30 people are seated at the tables with about 10 at the bar with 3 bartenders. Not busy at all. After waiting at the bar for about 2-3 minutes I was told by one of the tenders to go around to the other side of the bar to get service. I did so and the tender there was serving a couple. We made eye contact with my money in hand. She finished the first couple and moved to the people sitting next to me all while I’m standing right in front of her money out ready to go. Mind you the bar isn’t busy at all. The tender is taking 2-5 minutes to mix each drink. So after those 2 get their drink another couple walks up and she immediately serves them before me.

Ok now I’m a little put off but I let it go she has now served 6 people ahead of me while seeing me standing there money out ready to be get a beer. Then another guy walks up and she serves him at which time I said as respectfully as I can. Maam I’ve been here over 20 minutes. She gets upset and says she busy and can’t get to everyone fast. I say ok well you keep serving people who came to bar after me, before I’ve been served. Mind you I’m never more then 15 get away from her this whole time right in her field of vision money out, standing and waiting. After this clearly upset her I told her I’m not trying to be rude to you maam I’ve just been here longer than anyone else at the bar. Well she ignores me give me some attitude and serves then next group.

Ok well that sucked but I’m happy I got a drink and ready to play some poker. I walk to the poker room and I ask if there’s a seat. It’s was maybe 5 tables going and this was pretty much the most empty I’ve ever seen it on a weekend night but it’s almost 1230 by this time. The host tells me the seat will take about 2 hours as they are breaking down tables and what not. But he can take my name and I can wait. I tell him no that’s ok I’ll just play something else then.

Well now this night is really starting to suck. I drive there get treated bad by the bartender and now I can’t even play poker. So I say well it’s ok I go the crap table. I’m in the hook table not full. The dealer next to me seems to be new as she almost shorted me my buy in and is having trouble counting the checks via stacking. Anyway the shooter is getting hot and hits 2 points with 5-7 rolls in between. Her point is 8. I put $15 on the 6. She rolls 6 I tell the dealer to press the 6 bet. She rolls another 6. I tell the dealer again to press the 6 bet.

At this point she confused on how to press it with the odds giving her uneven amounts. It takes her talking to the pit boss to figure it out all while the dice are being held in the center. This whole ordeal took maybe 4-5 minutes for on bet while the tables and shooter are waiting. This is a simple press of the bet. Shouldn’t take no more than 30 seconds even that would be an inordinate amount of time.

By the time the dice get back the shooter she 7s out of course.

Worst casino experience I’ve ever had. What I think happened is the new Hardrock and Windcreek have poached workers from Horseshoe and it showing bad. Terrible service.

I don’t think I’ll ever be back as the new casinos are nicer, more organized, competent bartenders and dealers, and overall better atmosphere.

Horseshoe better figure it out or they will be dead soon. In my opinion if Chicago wasn’t just a short ride away they would...

Let me start off by saying this. I am a Diamond Plus rewards member, and was there for a promotion to receive a Caesar duffel travel bag. I do not anywhere near this casino, it’s almost a two hour drive from my house. So with an upcoming trip to Las Vegas, I thought that I would take advantage of this offer. So after driving the two hours one way. Playing for for four hours until the redemption of 2pm Friday April 4th. And losing $800 only to get told when I went to the rewards desk that “Oh those were held up at customs”. So with them knowing that they didn’t have the reward gifts that was being offered well in advance of the promotion, they remained silent up to that point until I had to ask about it. They said to make sure that my email address is up to date. To keep an eye out for it, I have never received any emails about the offer. I get my offer via the Caesars Rewards App. So how would they know who was there for that promotion. I’m guessing that since I’m not a Seven Stars member that I don’t matter much to them. It’s my mistake that I went pro Caesars for the past year, instead of MGM, or Unity. They were not even nice enough to post a sign near the rewards desk. Let alone pull the offer from app. So shame on me, for thinking that this Casino is really a part of the Caesars properties. Because it’s no better than an Indian casino that only monitors itself.

So how do I get this “Exclusive Travel Duffel Bag”? Who knows but I refuse to drive there anymore because of the bitter taste that was left in my mouth from this Casino. Other Caesars properties have taken great care of me. The Horseshoe in Hammond has not. Avoid this place if you are a local and go to the Hard Rock or one of the many other places to gamble at.

Update: 04/13/2025 as of today there still has been no communication from the Horseshoe Hammond about this issue via my email as promised!

Or even a reply here.

So Horseshoe, you still haven’t got an answer for me on this issue?

05-27-2025: So how long is it going to sit in customs?

09-17-2025: So how long will it take "The Caesars Rewards team has your name and we will make sure as soon as we know anything they will reach out." ? I went to the Horseshoe Hammond because of an offer the was in my Caesars Reward app. I played until the tier credits were met per the requirement within that offer. Is it because I am not a Seven Stars member, just a lowly Diamond Plus member? I don't seem to matter much to them. Keep this in mind when your looking for action... that it is better some...

This place is absolutely the most terrible casino I ever been too. I felt I was being watched 🤔 But why would they be watching me🤔 That’s what I asked myself 🤔 I wonder was they watching me to see my playing technique or skills🤔 or are they watching me for something else🤔. I wonder n wonder 🤔 But the casino do not cheat people huh🤔 Maybe it’s just me but something feels strange about this horseshoe casino 🤔 I told myself. So I stopped playing bubble craps n roulette because I wasn’t winning on any technique or strategy.🤔 Losing and more losing huh. but you could go on a losing streak in any casino (I guess)🤔 So I went to the baccarat table n the weirdest thing happened in this casino 🤔 Once I started putting up the big bucks🤔 Then all of a sudden almost 10 player hands came straight. Back to back on the player n back to back on player and back to back on player. It kept shooting out cards for player 🤔It seemed strange 🤔 Maybe they didn’t shuffle the cards correctly or shuffle 🤔 It was weird . I spoke with Gail the manager because my wife noticed a guy laughing at us with the dealer while he hop back to back at different baccarat tables.🤔 Gail said maybe the dealer knows the guy🤔 But I said maybe the dealer should not be laughing at us.🤔 Gail seemed to be on the defensive and had a condescending attitude as she defended her dealer that were rude to us. Gail said her dealers been working at the casino for thirty years.🤔🤔 Hmmmmm🤔 So they can not ever do nothing wrong huh??🤔 But my experience at this casino was horrible. I left there feeling like I wish I never came there. It’s something strange going on at the horseshoe casino in Indiana (Buts that’s just my opinion. 🤔 It’s just my opinion. But if you plan on betting big money or raising the bar 🤔 plz look for another casino ( My honest opinion) I just do not know what it is about that casino 🤔 But I still feel strange whenever I think about the horseshoe casino. They were rude to us n I felt I was being watched. I did not understand why would they be watching me🤔 I always play with big money🤔 they should know I follow all the rules n only play by the rules🤔 So if I was being watched I wonder why🤔

I didn’t like there rudeness. I never seen so many hands all for player in baccarat🤔 I feel it’s something strange about the horseshoe casino in Indiana. ( But hey I got a right to my opinion. Player , player, player, player, player, player, player, player, player, player, player, player player,, player player,...
