IHOP — Restaurant in North Township

PLEASE READ!!! Terrible experience! I tried placing my order over the phone on a early Sunday but my call wasn’t being picked up. I decided to go inside the restaurant to place my order. Waited in line about 15 minutes ( knowing how busy it could get I maintained my cool and patiently waited) to order. As I waited for my food there was a lot going on!!!! The entire atmosphere was terrible!!! At some point the front desk was not being taken care of when people walked in. You had a young girl trying to go back and forth in the kitchen trying to resolve the cooking in the back and at the same time take care of seating people. There was many dirty tables and a whole crowd of people waiting to be seated. People were angry and complaining since there was absolutely no one in upper management to come to the front and speak to the customers. Customers were upfront trying to pay for their meals and no one was there to help them. At some point a couple just walked out after waiting more then 10 minutes for the waiter to Come upfront to take their money. Not exaggerating about 7 families walked out frustrated. I decided to use the restroom in the meantime to get away from the chaos but the bathrooms were filthy with garbage all over the place. One of the staff members even rushed out the door crying. When my food finally came after being in there for an hour I paid and walked out feeling terribly sorry for the staff who were trying to do their best. When I got home I was ready to eat my my chicken Florentine crepes ( crepes were burnt, hard and cold) they were missing 5 ingredients!!!! Like how in earth did you miss so many ingredients. Only hard crepe with chicken, some mushrooms and uncooked diced onions. Terrible experience I wanted to rush back and return the food but after experience all the horror prior we decided to throw it away. Worst experience ever this location is desperately in need of new management, such a shame is a brand new place! I will not...

Listen… I don’t usually write reviews. I don’t even usually feel feelings. But after my visit to IHOP last Sunday at approximately 9:42 a.m., I have no choice but to share my truth.

From the moment I walked in, the smell of sizzling bacon and faint maple syrup hit me like a warm hug from the universe. The hostess smiled at me like she knew I was about to make some bad but delicious decisions. I sat down, and the booth hugged me tighter than my therapist ever has.

Then came the pancakes. FLUFFY. GOLDEN. MAJESTIC. I cut into one and swear I heard the faint whisper of angels singing “Breakfast Symphony No. 9.” I poured the syrup and watched it cascade down the sides like a slow-motion action movie. I took one bite and instantly remembered every good thing that ever happened to me. My GPA went up. My credit score improved. My childhood pet forgave me.

The waiter deserves an award, possibly sainthood. My coffee never dropped below half full. He appeared every 4 minutes like some caffeinated guardian angel. I told him the pancakes were “life-changing,” and he just nodded knowingly, like he’s heard that before.

The hash browns? Crispy enough to shatter a bad mood. The eggs? Fluffier than a motivational speaker’s self-esteem. The bacon? So perfectly crunchy it could’ve been used as a sound effect in a movie about triumph.

When I left, I accidentally waved goodbye to a random family because I was so emotionally overwhelmed. I hope they’re doing okay.

IHOP didn’t just give me breakfast. It gave me purpose. If you ever need to find yourself — or just eat pancakes the size of your face — this is the place.

👋🏻 Hey fellow Google Mappers! ☺️ This was my first time going to the IHOP in Hammond, IN. Me and my boyfriend went on a lunch date around 2 pm and got some breakfast. It wasn’t busy at all which was great and we were seated right away.

⭐️ Customer Service: The staff were friendly. We were seated right away. We waited a little bit for our server to come to our table. We both wanted water and the server gave it to us in a to go cup and I was a it confused. The server then explained that all their glass cups were dirty. An error also happened in our order. Our server came to us to let us know that for some reason the order was not placed even though she sent her order through a tablet. We had to wait a longer than we expected. The server also gave us the wrong receipt and gave us a receipt for another person’s order that was online order and the total was $17 something, but ended up paying $30. Next time, please pay attention to the receipts to ensure customers are paying the correct amount.

🍽️ Food/Drinks: The food was really good! I honestly came to IHOP for their original buttermilk pancakes and it didn’t disappoint. I ended up getting the breakfast sampler and totally recommend it because you get a mix of everything and it’s affordable. My boyfriend ended up getting the split decision. It came with a huge piece of French toast and it was good!

🛍️ Overall Experience: Overall, I had an okay experience at IHOP at the Hammond, IN location. The staff were friendly, it was clean, & delicious food.
