Econo Lodge Near University — Hotel in Northport

Only1 star because it won’t let you put zero! For the past 8 years we have traveled many miles and stayed in MANY motels/hotels. This is the second worse place we’ve ever stayed. I have never left a review on a hotel but felt it very necessary! We stayed two nights and the first morning I woke and saw a bed bug just above my baby girls head. So I get us and get all of stuff and everyone dressed and head to the front desk. I was very polite about the issue not tying to cause a seen. The manager assured me he had never had this problem slinging his paper work up in the air. He told me several times that someone must brought them in with them. After about the 5th time of him saying this I started to feel as if he wasn’t insinuating I was the one that had brought them in. It was about 20 mins before breakfast was over at this point and I asked if it was ok if I went ahead and feed my kids breakfast. We had four out of five with us this trip. I could hear a lady in the back start to get very hostile. I leaned over to make eye contact with the man at the front desk to let him know I can hear all of what was going on. He shrugged his shoulders and grinned and just kept right on going about his business. The women started to get louder and louder! She was ballistic at this point! 3 out of my 4 kids were crying! I was shaken and terrified! I didn’t know what in the world was about to happen. I told my kids to get up and walk out immediately! We proceeded to walk to McDs. and the man followed us out the door saying “oh it’s ok, she’s just speaking in Indian”. I don’t care what language she was speaking in it was not ok for her to terrify my kids. The ONLY other room that was available was one with a king bed. 🤦🏼‍♀️ So I sent one of my girls to the room with my husband and son. So that left 3 of us to share one bed. The room did have a pull out couch but there was no way I was even putting my kids on it. The room were not the cleanest. The only good thing about the rooms were the new mattresses. Other parts were old and run down. My bathtub had a patched hole in it and the roof was falling in and had black mold in it. I’ve read some of the reviews about the owners fighting and screaming! It.was.crazy. We did not book this hotel for ourselves! Someone had gotten us these rooms otherwise we would’ve left immediately! Making someone especially children feel like their life is in danger is unacceptable!!!! These crazy people have no business trying to run a hotel. We heard her several times through out the day still screaming like this. I asked one of the guys that clean the rooms of she always yells like that and he said yes! There’s no cameras anywhere and people where hanging out on the rails late into the night getting drunk! Very shady place! Do yourself a favor and run from this place! I booked this room for a week and upon arrival, the room was dirty, the linens were filthy, there were 2 roaches crawling on the wall,the microwave was very dirty and, after laying in the bed I got up with red whelps all over my arms and legs and stomach and I was severely itching all over my body and I checked the mattress on the bed and it was disgusting what I found in the creases of the mattress! It smelled of a mold odor in the room but I was exhausted and tried to get a little rest since I already paid for the night and I woke up early the next morning and was having trouble breathing, my throat was closed up and extremely red and irritated and swollen to the point that I could barely talk or swallow. The room has no toilet paper, I called and ask the front desk if I could come get some and he rudely told me NO! He knocked on my door hours later and asked to to email him the credit card information that was used to purchase the room for a whole week, and I asked for clean linens and he says " when you bring me email I will give you clean linen". Now the room was prepaid for so I'm sure that he got his money or I wouldn't of been able to make the reservation so what is the issue behind denying me items that are for one included in the price of the room, but items that I needed and weren't provided! I was very angry and confused as to why I was being treating this way the first time I had stayed at this motel! It was the worst experience I have ever encountered at a motel! I made the decision to leave this motel and cancel the rest of my stay there! And I will inform everyone not to ever stay at this Econo Lodge and tell my experience because it was a nightmare and I sure wouldn't want anyone else to experience what I did at this place of business! I missed 2 days of work due to being horribly sick and itching all over my body with red whelps all over. This is unacceptable for a place...

If I could give my experience a 0 I would. First off the lady that checked me in was VERY rude. The room itself was horrible. Let’s start with the door. Looked as if someone tried breaking into the room prior. I placed my things inside. Went to get something from the vending machine, came back and the door wouldn’t open. It’s 22 degrees outside so I went and told the lady she calls someone else and sends me back out in the cold to wait for him. He got it open. I told him the lock on the inside was messed up and it looked as if someone tried breaking in. He smiled and walked away. Weird right? The smell of POT was so bad. It was a nonsmoking room. But obviously it was smoked in. I had paid for 2 nights. I woke up a couple hours later. For a bathroom break, to turn the light on to a roach on the pillow next to me. I kill it. Go to the bathroom and find 2 more. One on the wall and second in the tub. I go tell the lady. She literally shrugged her shoulders and said I’ll let the owner/manager know. Not an apology, not can I get you a new room. NOTHING!!!! I had ask for a 6am wake up call. The phone woke me at4:42am. Not sure what that’s about. All I know is I paid for 2 and stayed the one.
