STAY AT THIS RESORT AT YOUR OWN RISK! INTRUDERS ENTER THE UNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!||||I just returned from a vacation at the Vista Cay Resort in Orlando. I stayed at the Vista Cay last year and the accommodations were exceptional. However, the stay in April 2024 was the worse experience ever. I arrived on a Wednesday. We checked in to our 3 bedroom unit to find the bathroom sink including the hanging towels covered with bugs. We returned to the club house and informed them of the condition of the unit. He placed us into a temporary unit on the 1st floor and told us to come back the following day after check out and housekeeping has cleaned the units. We returned to the club house at 2:00 pm per his instructions. He told us to come back later he didn't`t see anything. My husband asked if there was an issue in there system preventing him from seeing the availability at the resort. He told us he didn’t see anything and he would call us when he hears from housekeeping. He acted as if we were inconveniencing him. I stepped outside to call there corporate office at 888-460-2877. I explained the situation and he immediately told me they had plenty of availability at the resort. He told me he was going to call the club house and call me back. All of a sudden, a room was available. The guy at the club house walked over to us and handed us the room cards along with the print out with the details of the new unit. He didn’t say a word. It was obvious that he was pissed. This occurred Thursday afternoon. We checked into the new unit and continued on with our vacation. We arrived back at the unit later that evening. We placed the latch on the door and went to bed. At 6:00am Friday morning we were awaken by my travel alarm that I always travel with. The alarm was triggered by someone opening the door. I’m sure they didn’t expect the loud alarm. If it had not been for the alarm and the latch we would have awaken to an intruder in the unit. We called the front desk on one phone and 911 on another. I was informed by a young lady at the club house that there security staff leaves the resort at 4:00am and they do not have cameras in the halls. She informed me that there was nothing she could do to help us. She placed me on hold for an extended period of time. I hung up after five minutes. We got dressed and left the resort. It is now Sunday and no one from the resort has called to make sure we are okay or to get more details about the intruder. I feel like we pissed someone off and access was given to an intruder to enter our unit. I don’t know if the intent was to scare us or to actually harm us. I thank God we returned home unharmed. I will never stay here again. STAY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK especially knowing an intruder can enter your unit while you and your...

It seems that these units are individually owned. We chose this property because of the good reviews on VRBO and the location for our time at Universal Halloween Horror Nights. We arrived at 10:45 at night, walked around the villa and in the downstairs bed and bath there were dead cockroaches. We attempted to contact/text the host with the contact information on their welcome letter, there was no reply. We went through VRBO and were finally able to get a response. She asked for pictures and offered to move us to a different unit in the same building. Same unit means connected; we didn't feel comfortable with it. We had some trouble getting contact information from her, guessing vrbo was blocking it somehow since her email came over as all dashes (same thing that was showing on her welcome letter). It is now after midnight. ||The next morning at 9:09am, she sends an email that she will send pest control over that day. We had left the night before (actually very early Friday morning), found a place ½ hour away that would let us stay until Monday, I advised her of this and asked for a refund and she said |“I don't think so. I replied to your message immediately after you sent it to me. and I offered you to switch your booking to an identical unit in the same building. We reserved this unit for your group since you booked it. We may be able to give you some discount for the first night stay due to the problem, but we cannot give you a full refund for your stay. Pest control service is ordered today for 109 to clean out the issue.”|I forwarded her welcome letter to show it did not contain accurate information along with a copy of the initial text I sent. This whole time we were trying to enjoy our night at Halloween Horror Nights. No response until 9pm Friday night (almost a full 24 hours after our initial attempt of contact).|“We have 10 townhome units in Vista Cay. I have many options for your group if you don't want to stay near 109. The email didn't go through because VRBO blocked it. However, you can call either one of the phones to notice us the problem.”||On Saturday morning I reiterated that the contact information was faulty and that if she had offered another building on that Thursday night, we would have tried it. No response. I sent a follow up email on Tuesday after our return home and asked for her to work with us and at least reimburse over what we had budgeted for. That would have left her with about $600.00. She refused, she said she could give us credit for another stay. Really? That is a hard pass! I forwarded information to VRBO, they immediately closed the case and told me to go back to the host. Beware of unit 109 Vista Cay or the host named Rene Yan. Last time I will book with...

I was skeptical staying here; however, the experience was excellent.

We purchased a premium room for our stay. It had three rooms and was spacious and comfortable. Appliances and furniture looked in good condition. The room was clean. Ambient sound levels were low.

Our room had 4 bath towels and 4 pool towels. Linens were adequate; however I recommend bringing additional fleece blankets. Our unit had dishes, cups, pots, and a non-keurig coffee maker. There is a supermarket around the corner, which we used to stock up on water, fruit, soap, etc.

I suppose all units are furnished slightly differently as I noticed balcony furniture differed vastly from unit to unit.

The resort is gated. Parking is adequate. Despite us being located in the last unit on our block, the pool was a short 3-5 minute walk. The pool is heated and the heater was working during our stay, which was nice. There are arcade games located near the pool as well as a small pool table.

The resort is centrally located - we were about 15-20 min from MCO and Disney and 5-10 minutes from shopping, minigolf, etc.

We had no issues with surprise billings.

The two things I think could be improved are late check-in procedures and ability to pre-arrange late checkout. For the former, the resort should have a set time to communicate late check-in procedures to guests. For example, an email stating that the resort will call/text between 2-4pm the date of arrival would help clear up ambiguity. I felt I was having to be very proactive in arranging my late check-in, which was one more thing to worry about when traveling.

For the latter: a late checkout could have been negotiated (if available) the day before my departure. Similar to above, working these things out ahead of time goes a long way in reducing stress on that last day of a “fun-filled” Orlando vacation.

I would definitely stay at Vista Cay again, and highly recommend to those who need a little extra space and are looking for excellent value...

This is probably one of the most affordable villas ever found in Orlando. At least by me and to my standards. The resort is fantastic! I always stay in the 3 bedroom villa which is on a separate side from the resort compared to the main side which is located down the street. But the 3 bedroom villa has a Publix shopping center right in front. I love the contactless service. They email you all your codes before your stay. The rooms are very spacious. Great kitchen area with a fully stocked kitchen of assets. The rooms have a little trash deposit outside the room door and staff will pick it up in the morning. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a connected bathroom which I will say that I hate the shower in this bathroom because it's so cramped for some reason and you can't move the shower to not hit your head. Then there is a second room with a queen size bed and the third room has two queen size beds. I have stayed on two occasions where one stay, two rooms had a TV and one stay, where only the master bedroom had a TV. There is a TV in the living room as well. Also a great balcony. One other thing the walls are like paper thin. You can hear everything! But overall the value is really good. Now the main resort with the main office has a pool and a hot tub. Our side only had a regular pool.

We stayed at vista cay for 1 week, the unit was clean and air conditioned which I thought was really good, also the is a washer and a dryer that is free to use and there’s loads of towels to bring to the pool with you which is good. The pool was either heated or it was just the Florida heat but it’s warm every second of every day.Opposite vista cay there is a publix and restaurants but I do recommend publix for 2 reasons because 1 it’s really close to vista cay (2 minute walk) and 2 is that you will need to buy food for the house if your that type of person.I really recommend this for a cheap place to stay on international drive.
