Hilton is known for amazing customer service, but not this hotel.
I worked for Hilton so I'm pretty familiar with how a hotel stay from check in to check out is supposed to go and this place totally missed the mark. The Front Desk staff need proper customer service training. When we arrived the young woman at the front desk did not welcome us to the hotel, she basically just asked what we wanted, she checked us in, told us what floor the room is on, I asked for a higher floor, she changed the room, and just said okay, fourth floor. It was our first time there, I had to ask her where the elevators are and she did not give us any information about the hotel at all. The room was decent, but just after 11.30 PM, my husband and I were rudely awoken by the sound of fire alarms, we got dressed and started walking down the stairs. When we got to the third floor, I almost cried at the sight of parents carrying their little ones, barely dressed, no shoes and it was around -10 or worse outside. We got to the lobby and weren't given any explanation for what was happening. There were people leaving and people going outside in their pajamas. We waited in the lobby for instruction from the staff...no one said anything. The police arrived, we never saw any members of the fire department. The fire alarm was turned off and people started returning to their rooms, still no word from the staff. We returned to our room and I could not sleep, by almost 2 AM I called the front desk to ask for a late checkout. (The phone was not working properly and I could barely hear the guy, but he was polite.) We got a 1 PM checkout and left a bit before it. Having been in the hospitality industry before I was aware that I could leave the keys in the room and leave, but decided to checkout in person so that the front desk could let housekeeping know they can clean the room for the next guest. The young woman at the desk didn't say hello or utter any greeting whatsoever, she looked annoyed and like we were bothering her. I told her we were checking out, she asked the room number, I told her the room number, she said, "Okay, you can go!" No thank you for your stay, nothing. I walked away and said, "wow." It was our anniversary. I will never stay...
Read moreAt this price point I would expect these rooms to be in better condition. In my room the toilet was so loose that when you stood up it thumped and it ran unless you jiggled the handle. I asked to have it repaired Monday and it was still having these issues on Thursday. (If I had my tool box I could fix the loose toilet in 5 minutes.). The faucet in the tub was loose and did not function correctly so it still flowed at about 30% while the shower ran leading to a weak shower flow. The caulk was loose or missing in several places. There was missing and loose molding around the room. Peeling wall paper in the bathroom and cracked dry wall. The rooms look like they have not had a deep clean in quite some time with build up of dust and grime on vents, edges, and hinges. The mattress feels cheap and is uncomfortable. In the shared areas there is graffiti on the signage in the elevator. One Ice machine is out of order. The police were called to the hotel twice during my trip despite this being a nice a area. Several co-workers were also at the hotel and commented that they had similar issues with wear and tear in their rooms. One had the shower head fall off when he started the shower (He repaired it himself it just needed to be threaded on). He also found feces in the toilet which implies the room was not cleaned well. Any one of these issues wouldn't be a big deal but with so many things it just makes this hotel feel over priced and dirty. The staff seemed friendly when I asked for the repair but lack of follow through is disappointing. I have recently stayed at similar price point hotels in MSP and Seattle and had much better facilities. This hotel could be perfectly fine with attention to detail and...
Read moreLocation is great as its in a area where the rooms doesn't have weed blowing in the vents when you have the a/c on and the Oakdale and Woodbury area has alot of great options within reach.
Service is terrible I would rate it below a 1 star if I could. The younger workers are nice and welcoming but theres an older lady that works here that has a nasty sarcastic attitude.
I thought she was having a bad day when she was giving me an attitude when I checked in but 4 days later she still had the same nasty sarcastic attitude.
Example of the service you will get here:
I needed extra toilet paper and requested for two toilet paper but they didn't have any in at the front desk and so the front desk asked if the toilet paper could just be brought to my room later on in the day by room service and to which I said that it would be fine.
Later that day we only received 1 roll of toilet paper and then when I called the front desk after ringing the room service number for 5 minutes if I could get another roll of toilet paper. The nasty sarcastic old lady picked up the phone and told me that I would need to come down to get another roll of toilet paper.
I decided to pack my bags and just leave. Because why would I go down now to grab another roll of toilet paper when I was just told that the front desk ran out of toilet paper and I would need room service to grab it for me.
Anyways for the actual welcoming and professional workers that do work here. I bagged up and folded everything for you guys because if not for the old nasty sarcastic lady working in the front. This hotel would get a...
