Location, location, location. That's why you stay here. The front desk staff were fantastic...very, very friendly and accommodating. The cleaning staff were kind. The bus service was also great (very convenient to not have to move your car/deal with parking to get around the valley). The accommodations themselves could have been better, and the service from the restaurant staff was very hit and miss.||From reading reviews/recommendations prior to our stay, I imagined a place that was surprisingly modern with amenities that were updated and at least mid-scale. I would not say that was the case. ||The pathways within what I would call the common areas were very good, but within the tents, they were very dusty and uneven...which leads to a lot of dirt being tracked back into your sleeping space (and then into your bed). Paving the tent pathways would really help. I was also disappointed to see how dirty the canvas itself was (especially on the ceiling). Conversation noise during the quiet hours was very respectful, but you do run into a decent amount of noise from the doors when individuals need to use the restroom facilities...or when people are getting up in the morning. I believe that could be improved with adjustments to the doors themselves.||Back to the common areas - we again had a few interactions with some wonderful people within the restaurants. In particular I can think of a server at the bar who was incredibly kind to give us some complimentary french fries for our kids (the kids meals do not typically come with them). On the other end of the spectrum, there was an individual at the pizza deck who was quite rude - didn't seem to have any understanding of the sauce that was to come with the breadsticks and gave no effort to assist. We did eventually find someone who was able/willing to help (though the sauce ended up being cold). The building that appeared to be a sort of lounge space (with a foosball table and places to sit/relax) was pretty disappointing. It was a very worn/broken space that should be updated. I was also disappointed in the fact that the website stated that the pool was not open when we were there in August. The website stated it was under renovation and scheduled to open in July...and in fact it still states this as of today (November 13th). We were able to use the pool at the Yosemite Valley Lodge; however, and that was very nice.||I also felt the warnings about Hantavirus were a bit unnecessarily frightening. I understand they had an issue more than a decade ago in a type of tent/cabin that is no longer used, but it sounds like they have not had any issues since then. While I understand this was a very serious situation (several people even died), it's a difficult way to start a visit when they are so up front with the danger...but add no context to the situation. ||I would absolutely stay here again if the option is between staying here or outside of the park. It's really wonderful to wake up in the middle of everything (and frankly would be a tragic waste of time to have to drive out of the park and back each day), but I will try harder in the future to find a space in one of the...

Got food poisoning or the flu for 4 days after leaving!!! Had a temp of a 100 and felt like I was dieing.

Very disappointed with our experience. Its been 17 years since I've been to yosemite. This was a last-minute rental due to entering the park taking 3 HOURS!! We just came for a day trip, and we had no intentions after that driving 3 hours home in the dark. We paid the reservation ticket price, but because it took so long, we didn't arrive until 1 minute after the cutoff time. Waste of money. Excessive customer service, chattiness, causes mistakes. I explicitly said several times we needed the 4 bed camp, was reassured, and still got 3 beds. Paid 198$. I had a 6 week old, 1.5 year old and a 9 year old and my handicapped Veteran father with me, my partner and my mom. (I ended up sleeping on the floor with my baby using the blankets they provided because there wasn't enough beds). They promised a pack n play that we had to ask for twice and it didn't arrive until almost 10 pm!! The employee also forgot to give us our key so we had to walk back and forth several times to the office. The room was VERY DIRTY. There were layers of dust everywhere, crumbs on the floor. Sheets and pillowcases were clean. The safes were deactivated. And they advertised heat in person and on the website. We had no gear, only the wool blankets and our day clothes. I couldn't fully close 2 of the windows so by 2 am it was almost unbearably chilly..I woke up to turn the heat on feeling confident, and it takes 20 plus minutes to work. Sat for 40 minutes before I shined a light on the sign that says they turn heaters off on memorial weekend. So it was a rough, rough night. (The screen on the door was barely connected so we had a handful of bugs in our cabin.) Also, the grounds were not well kept, there were random kids socks and underwear left under cabins and garbage blowing around. *I had to listen to staff for almost an hr,, with walkie talkies turned all the way up walking around our units because apparently there was a bear sighting in a garbage can and they were looking for it. Cool. We ate pizza, which was good. Breakfast not so much. I paid 50$ for 3 plates, a jr and regular plate and a country fried steak. The potatoes were hard and VERY DRY. The eggs and fried steak were freezing cold and the steak tasted freezer burnt. Even though everything was under heat lamps. It was disgusting so we were starving by the time we left. Luckily I bought bananas at the store.

  • on top of everything I read an article this morning about how yosemite lodging facilities and grounds have had hundreds of complaints about food sanitation, rodents and feces, and general dilapidated facilities including decks and carpets in the hotel that they charge HUNDREDS a night for. Though the actual nature parts are beautiful, yosemites resources are robbing people. They are just trying to suck in as many dollars as possible. And its heartbreaking.

I don't think my family will...

Horrible price/quality. I know you pay for the location (which is great: close to trailheads and shuttle, amazing views), but for $175/night for a heated tent, I expected at least a decent bed and shower.

The tent didn't feel or look clean upon arrival. The double bed was uncomfortable: too small for 2 adults + you could feel the springs while lying in it. One of the blankets still had dirt stuck to it and smelled like mothballs. The other was made of slippery plastic-like material, which caused it to continuously slide off one side of the bed. We'd probably have slept better in twin beds. The women-bathroom was not clean: hairs stuck on the walls and the showercurtains, toiletpaper was lying around on the floor. The showers were only just warm enough, but far from pleasantly hot + the spray was thin and the waterpressure rather low, resulting in being cold while under the "warm" water. A little bench or plastic chair or something in every shower cabin would be nice so that you could put your shoes out of reach of the water (and dry your feet comfortably). Officially the bathrooms are only for guests of curry village, but the employees couldn't care less and don't control, so campers from nearby campgrounds use them as well. (Didn't cause any problem for us.) The parking was chaotic: You get a parking pass upon check-in, but the parking is not closed of and a lot of daytourists seem to use it as well when elsewhere is full. There is not enough parking space in the morning when some guests still have to leave and others are already arriving to enjoy the park prior to check-in. When we left, another car waited for 15min while we were checking out, just to get our parking space. Not the big issues but: the tents are close together - people talking in the one next to you might wake you, the tent had a safe that had been deactivated and we were not allowed to use, the dinnerpavilion servermd the exact same menu the two nights we were there (spaghetti or chicken with mashed potatoes), our tent was tilted so the door automatically opened completely unless we locked it and the bearboxes didn't come with a lock (though I guess no one will steal your food or toiletries). Positives: Location! There are enough showers and toilets for everyone. Shampoo and showergel are provided. You can get fresh towels from a counter. The heating in the tent worked great. There is a light in the tent. A shop for essentials is present. Check-in was easy and efficient. The size of the tent is comfortable.

Overall this was the worst price/quality of our west-usa-roadtrip and the only time I would not recommend people to stay there, despite the amazing location in the park. We are young, healthy people; we don't mind sharing bathrooms, don't need lots of luxury and our backs can still handle a less kind bed. But as stated before: The price/quality of this place is not ok. Wouldn't stay there again for that...
