I would like to start by saying my family has stayed here many times over the years but this last visit will definitely be our last. When we arrived in early Sept 2022 the first thing we noticed was the door would not shut it had to be slammed. We did request maintenance to come look as we did not feel right slamming the door at all hours of the day and night and possibly breaking the door jam. When the man arrived he had a very bad attitude as if we were bothering him. He stated nope just slam it, when I stated I was uncomfortable with that he basically said well the only option you have.
We did bring our own linens and towels however my son and his girlfriend rented the room next door and did not. They always provided comforters and bedding in the past and we do not see on the website where that has changed ( only thing provided was a small thin gray throw type of blanket , no sheets no comforters) but because nothing was provided they had to go spend money on these things. Neither room we rented received one day of housekeeping in the 3 night stay having to request supplies like clean towels for my son and girlfriend and the child with them toilet paper etc... as the cleaning crew were still cleaning rooms at 4 pm and way too late to come in as we are showering after being at the beach.
The pools are way over crowded making it impossible to find anywhere to sit or even get in the pool. Too many people for a resort to have such a small limited area. The cafe in the indoor area was not open most of the time we were there that weekend making it long walk back forth to the bar to get anything to drink.
My other big issue is that the resort requires the children and adults to wear a plastic bracelet in order to enjoy the amenities which I understand however they fall off and get lost in which the office makes you pay a $25.00 replacement fee for a child lost bracelet which is ridiculous. I can see paying $5.00 at the most for a plastic replacement but $25.00? They offered a door key for free but not a bracelet for a child even though her bracelet didn't open any door! We paid the $25.00 or she couldn't do anything at the resort. The woman was very rude stating we agreed to pay that in the check in papers, not the point the point is 25$ is way too much for a replacement bracelet that does not unlock door for the child or seem to have any value. The resort should know children are going to lose them and replacements should be more reasonable in cost. Not so family friendly in this regard.
The laundry room was very clean but none of the dryers we tried seem to work as we spent 3 hours one night drying one load and the machines quarter slots were stuck in most of them. We did enjoy the shuttle bus as the drivers were friendly and being able to have a camp fire in the firepit was great although the fire pits were over grown with grass we managed to find a useable one.
I did not find the office staff to be as friendly or accommodating as in the past. Thank you for the past memories but think it is time to move onto new adventures with higher quality and customer service that's meets our standards and is more...
Read moreKeep in mind— we paid about $600 for 2 nights. This is Memorial Day weekend. The front desk told us the average per night here is $280. NOT WORTH IT. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Don’t let the aerial view of the photos listed fool you. It’s not as bright and vibrant as they made it look.
When we booked this “resort,” we were expecting an updated and larger-scale family area. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very cute movie theatre area and book nook. Had a vending machine for drinks ($2.50) and some snacks for purchase.
There are small “lodges” spread throughout the property. We personally were not a fan of how it looked. The property looked like a mini-motel and very outdated.
First topic I’d like to touch on is the food and bar. There is NO BREAKFAST. The kitchen does not open until 12pm on both sides of the property and the bar doesn’t open until 2pm! We were very frustrated about this. Not everyone eats lunch at 12pm, especially if you have hungry kids, why not open at 1030/11am? If it’s a unique resort, there should be more accommodating features than off the property. We did not have lunch here because of this—a major inconvenience.
The room itself was located on the 2nd floor of the main building. There is NO ELEVATOR if you stay in the main building, not sure about the rest of the property. We don’t mind walking but there is a long staircase (15-20 steps at least) for those who do mind the walk up with luggage. The room was very average, comfortable bed but could be more firm, basic coffee maker, small bathroom, tiny hair dryer, the bar soap is the worst I ever had— very creamy and it doesn’t wash off well. The TV has a good selection of channels, sports, movies and some kid friendly shows too. The bathroom shower gets nice and hot, but the ceiling had a very old vent that had an accumulation of dust bunnies, hopefully not mold, and the sealing paint was peeling.
Outside, we went to check the cove where there is mini-golf, an illuminated (at night) ground-sprinkler area for kids, outdoor pool, hot tub for adults only (14+ years) which is really nice. Though, we went there mid- morning and there were a bunch of kids unsupervised that welcomed themselves into the hot tub. This was very irritating. Finally someone on the resort kicked them out.
The indoor pool is located in the Florida building which is all the way in the back. They say it’s warmed to 82 deg F. It was definitely not that warm. The water slide, volleyball, and water buckets are a good touch, small toddler pool, and hot tub for adults too. Again, the kitchen/bar does not open until 12pm. Very irritating.
Overall, it was an average experience. The best part about this place was that you could walk to the beach about 25 mins and to neighboring restaurants. Everything you could possibly imagine is next to...
Read morePlease do yourself a favor and do not stay here. My family and are quite disappointed with this stay. We arrived on a Sunday and while unpacking found molded coffee in the coffee maker, and the bathroom, especially the shower was not cleaned from the last person who was there. I could tell because there was hair, and soap build up that was not cleaned off from a bar of soap, and remnants of a razor with a moisturizing strip that was left on the shower and not cleaned off. It was late at night, so I called the front desk after cleaning the coffee maker out and asked for a new one to be brought. I booked this location after having stayed here as a kid and thought how neat it would be for my son to stay there as well as he is a similar age as I was when I was there. The rooms have not been updated since I was there as a kid, and that would have been ok with me if they were clean, and cleaned during your stay. But - it was not. We were there from a Sunday to Friday, and not one time did they clean the shower. I could tell because there was some pink shower gel left in there from morning showers that when we came back at night, around 5 were still there, and remained there . I called the front desk after noticing after the first 2 days that it was not cleaned and they offered to send someone to the room. I said, no we are back getting showers for dinner, but I do expect that while we are gone tomorrow ( all day) that someone cleans the room. A few minutes later we hear a knock at the door. We politely declined the offer to clean at that time as we were getting ready to go for dinner. Fast forward to the next day, after returning from the beach at 4- the room still was not cleaned. I called the front desk and they sent 2 ladies to clean. They arrived and asked if they could start cleaning while we were getting ready to go to the pool, I said yes. Taking note that it was the 3rd day, and the sheets should have been changed per their cleaning plan - and they were not, they just pulled up the sheets on the bed. On my way out I looked at their cleaning cart and there was 1 bottle of Clorox spray cleaner- that was it- no mop, or other cleaning products. I am confident that they did not wipe down a surface, I even moved off the stuff on the bathroom counter thinking that it was in their way. However all the teeth brushing splatter that kids do when they brush their teeth was still there. Crumbs were still on the floors for multiple days, and can't even tell you the last time they mopped the bathroom floor. I don't mind that the place was older, and if the furniture was outdated- BUT I DO MIND when a 'family resort' is not clean, and this location is...
