The LONG Story (Scroll to the bottom for the quick version) I took no photos. Why did I take no photos you ask? Because I was too busy relaxing and not caring that this isn't the Ritz Carlton. Do those still exist? Anyway. I was booked at a place that I won't mention a few miles from this place. We'll call it...Long Stay USA. LONG story short, if you want the whole story check my other reviews, we left there and came to this place because I saw it off the freeway and we are actually booked here in a couple weeks again. I called and spoke to Mavend, and was given a great room rate, especially on such short notice. I arrived and Mavend was there to great me she was SHOCKED at the issues at the other hotel. She checked me in quickly and was super nice. I got to my room, which was clean and HUGE. We got a king bed and there was a mini fridge, microwave, desk with a chair, 2 sitting chairs and a coffee table. HUGE. After I made a couple trips to get our luggage I started unpacking and my phone rang...it was Mavend checking to see if I needed anything. Nope. All is well. Pool was a little too chilly for me, but the husband took a couple laps. Jacuzzi was HEAVEN. Not too hot, nice jets. Later that night I needed some utensils to eat our dinner. We went to the front desk where Mark found us some and some extras. He was nice and funny, we joked for a couple minutes and then went back to our room. We only stayed 2 nights so I told the cleaning crew there was no need to do our room on the 2nd day. But with the trip to the pool I did need a couple extra towels which they were happy to give me and they took my large bag of take out trash away for me. Breakfast was better than some, not as great as Denny's. Waffles you can make, egg patties, like what you would find on a breakfast sandwich, sausage patties, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, cereal, danishes. Easy, and free. The room was clean, a little warm for my taste, but clean is more important. Due to my husband working all day on our check out day I wanted to stay in the room for a little longer, they were able to give me a 12:30pm check out, that's an extra hour and a half no problem. Also, they mentioned that joining their rewards club would let me stay until 2pm as long as the daily bookings/staff allowed it. So I joined the club on my phone, super easy, and was moved to an even later checkout. Which I ended up not using all of. Saw Mark again that night, super late, still with a great joking, happy attitude. Mavend was there to check me out quickly, thanked me for my stay, said she's looking forward to seeing me next time, she already knew I was staying again and always had a smile on her face. This place is not the fanciest place I've stayed but it is HIGH on the list of places that I like staying. Top 5 easily. Water pressure is a little lacking in the shower, the fridge froze my soda solid, (I've NEVER had a fridge in a hotel work that well), and I had to fiddle with the TV to get the channels. Change the input to HDMI 2, and it takes a while for the menu to go away, be patient. But the cleanliness, nice people and easy access to my husband's job, local shopping, there are like 4 shopping centers in walking distance, and great rate make this a place I will come back to stay in myself and recommend to people.
The Nitty Gritty Room: A+ big and clean Water Pressure: C Not great Breakfast: B+ Seen better and worse Staff: A+++ Best of the best Parking: B+ a little tight especially with BIG trucks or a full hotel Pool/Jacuzzi: A pool was COLD Jacuzzi was PERFECT Area: A- lots of shopping, restaurants, things to do, kinda close to freeway. Read moreI stayed here only because it was close to a friend's house who didn't know any better. Checking in was very easy. The person behind the desk was quick to check me in. Upon entering my room I was overwhelmed by the smell of Pine-Sol. WOW!!!! It did go away after being in the room for a while, but O.M.G. Like other reviews I agree with the fact that some updating needs to be done. There were marks on the door from scratches from either laundry carts or suitcases banging into them. A little paint would have fixed that. |When you get into the room, you can tell they've moved furniture around because you can see the marks on the wallpaper from where the bed was originally placed. The bathroom has the same problem with the racks on the wall having been moved and the original marks and holes in the wallpaper. The flooring (tile) in the room has gaps in it.|My biggest problem is the doors in the little pass through heading to Room 112. The doors have writing on them that says about keeping the doors closed. Almost every time I would go through those doors to come and go from my room they were open. The one door leads behind the hotel where I'm thinking the housekeeping personnel are going to take the laundry carts. There doesn't seem to be a reason for guests to be back there. When I would go through, I would close the doors behind me. I informed the front desk personnel upon checkout that this has been going on. They didn't seem too upset about this when I reminded them that it is a security risk to have those doors open. I observed front desk people telling people how to make a waffle. Maybe they can go check on those doors and let people fend for themselves when it comes to making a waffle. Somehow those doors have to be closed. It is a definite safety risk. If something happens to someone because of the hotel's lack of safety, they have been put on notice and it won't go well for the hotel. I checked out on Sunday, March 10th. You can ask your morning front desk staff about what I told them about safety.|As far as breakfast, it would have been nice to maybe have something besides waffles and yogurt. I know an earlier post said something about eggs, but not in March of 2024.|Overall, I went on somebody else's word. Not again...
Read moreI have stayed at a number of Choice hotels across the U.S. and this was the lowest quality Quality Inn I have seen. Part of my normal job is being a construction site inspector, so I may notice more than the average person. The first room I was given smelled like a mildewed carpet. The front desk personnel were courteous and apologetic and promptly provided me a different room. The second room was a bit of a shock at first. Though the bathroom was cleaned and restocked daily, the furniture was in good condition, and the countertops and the tops of tables and dresser were all nice granite, the red/black/white striated/checked carpeting next to olive green bedspreads was kind of like Comet seeing Rudolph's nose for the first time. The bed was clean and quite comfortable, and I work long hours and sleep in the dark, so I stayed my 3 nights instead of the hassle of going somewhere else farther away. The carpet in the hallway was dirty. The stairwell walls were very dirty around where a vending machine had been removed. My room door had been recently broken into, as the door jamb was split top to bottom and had been screwed together without being repainted. The interior privacy door lock had been broken and rescrewed on. The bathroom door hinges were loose and the door rubbed and had to be lifted in order to shut. The outside layer of glass in the window was cracked and had a 1/2" hole in it. The breakfast area cooler for dairy products and yogurt was full but was not cold two mornings in a row. Each of the 3 evenings I returned, my keys would not work, even though I kept them in my back pocket away from my cell phone or other credit cards. Despite all the maintenance issues, my room was kept clean daily, my stay was quiet, the bed comfortable, and the price was good. I give this place only two stars for now. The staff was nice and the facility has good potential, but significant maintenance needs to be done to bring this place back up to the "very good" ratings I saw when I first...
