My friends and I are frequent customers and consider it our favorite place for lunch and dinner. Being so, we've termed 10:30 am (their opening time during the week) as "Teri Time."
Their weekday specials are spectacular, though I believe the Thursday special to be the best with a half chicken teriyaki plate and a California roll. Their ramen is hearty and delicious with many different varieties, but I recommend the Banzai ramen if you don't know where to start.
If you are looking for a good dinner spot that will not leave you dissatisfied, you've found the right place. For those of you with an appetite, such as myself, the D1 and D2 dinner plates will not disappoint. With a substantial amount of mouthwatering vegetable and potato salad, chicken teriyaki over white rice, miso soup, and an 8-piece California roll, you won't have room for desert... but if you do, they have mochi balls. There is a good selection of bottled and draft beer, along with Sake if you are looking to cheers with some friends.
The employees work fast, but it can get busy during lunch and dinner rushes. So be patient!...
Read moreJapanese restaurant and bar with a nice Hawaiian vibe and very friendly service. While there are dedicated ramen shops throughout San Diego county that do ramen arguably better, the ramen at Teri Cafe is actually pretty good, and their sushi rolls have thick slices of fish in them. My only criticism of the ramen, and it is a very minor one, was that the egg was completely hard coiled versus medium or soft boiled as is traditionally found in ramen, but again, it is a very minor criticism. I had both the Tonkotsu ramen and the Aloha Roll, and the slice of tuna on top of the roll was thick and tasty, moreso than what you normally get at most sushi places. As mentioned before, the service is friendly, and on my first visit here the hostess walked me patiently through the menu and ordering method (orders are placed prior to seating at the front register). Very kid-friendly as I noticed a few families with young children during lunch. Will definitely be back with my family on a...
Read moreI’ve been a long time customer since I was a kid, but I seem to have the same issue over and over. I can’t seem to order anything protein especially chicken without it being over or under cooked and the staff seems to always have a chip on their shoulder. I’ve been direct, I’ve been kind, and I’ve been sweet. I will only go to the location off of plaza drive and it’s slowly starting to have the same vibe. I’ve never had bad udon, yakisoba, or sashimi and either location but the cooked proteins aren’t great and I’m being polite. Also they are NOT accommodating to any allergies. I love certain rolls but again no matter how I ask they won’t modify for allergies. When it’s good it’s great, but other times I have to keep my mouth shut. I’m not trying to bash but it’s really uncomfortable to return given what I’ve experienced.
The last time I went I was force to make a doctors visit and my test came back...
